2007 - Bmw 7-series on 2040-cars
Syracuse, New York, United States
Up for sale is my 2007 Alpina B7. I have owned the car for 2 years, and purchased it with 14k original miles. The vehicle now has 29k and is subject to minor change during the duration of the auction. The vehicle was a one owner car, traded-in and resold to me, although technically I consider myself to be the second owner. I have not a single issue with this car in two years of ownership. I changed the oil regularly, had the brakes flushed twice, cabin filters replaced, and installed new Continental tires 7k miles ago. I took this car on a 1600 mile round trip from NY to Chicago in August, and the car performed like a new car would. I rate the condition of this car to be excellent. There are a few small dings around the car that you would need to be a foot or less away to notice, two minor touch-up chips on the hood, and some curb rash on both passenger side wheel lips. Besides the minor details mentioned, the car is as new. For those unfamiliar with an Alpina B7: This car has the comfort, luxury, and reliability of a 7 Series BMW; paired with the exclusivity (800 produced for 07/08), beauty and power (500hp/516 ft. lb tq) of a 125k sedan. It is sleek, fast, beautiful, turns heads, and a total pleasure to drive, at a fraction of its original price. You can find one for less money, but I would recommend spending a little more money for peace of mind, and an awesome car. Why am I selling? I want a new one! I will probably purchase an AWD model and drive it year round. This model is RWD and I have never attempted a drive in the snow, although I heard with snow tires, it will perform well. This car gets parked from first snow fall- first rain in spring to wash away all salt encrusted roads. It is garage kept, and the undercarriage of this car is as clean as the photographs you see of the exterior and interior. *Photos were taken in the late spring, right before I replaced the original tires 7k miles ago. They were replaced due to age, not due to wear. Tires wear incredibly well on this car. It is amazing how perfectly balanced it is. These pictures are used because they show the car well, and the car looks exactly the same now as it did then. *One key is included with sale. I was given one key when I purchased the car, and never required an additional key. *

BMW, Toyota warn about Chinese market slowing down
Fri, Aug 7 2015BMW and Toyota are the latest automakers to become concerned about the closing throttle on the once rapidly accelerating vehicle market in China. There might be drastic effects on their ledgers at the end of the year. With the Chinese stock market no longer looking so healthy, the people just aren't buying as many new cars as in the past. Things got really bad in June after the first drop in deliveries in two years. BMW has already reduced Chinese production by 16,000 units so far this year. Despite the slowdown, the company has kept a brave face. "We experience that volatility in all emerging markets," BMW CEO Harald Krueger said in a conference call, according to Automotive News. The problem for Toyota is a bit stranger. Through July, the automaker's Chinese deliveries were actually up 12 percent. However, the gain was offset by falling sales prices. "This is making our business in China quite difficult. The business environment is getting tougher," Toyota Managing Officer Tetsuya Otake said, Automotive News reported. Much of the weakness in China has come in the middle part of the year, and from January through June deliveries were still up 8.4 percent. This means the effects haven't hit the financial results of some automakers too hard quite yet. In the second quarter, General Motors referenced the "challenging conditions" there but still posted a growing net income of $1.1 billion. Despite falling global sales, Toyota managed record income for the quarter, too.
BMW suing Saab Automobile Parts for $3.2M
Fri, 24 Aug 2012Saab might be all but dead, but that's not stopping automakers that were once involved with the Swedish brand from attempting to reclaim losses. According to a Fox Business report, BMW has filed a 2.6 million Euro suit ($3.2 million USD) with a Swedish district court against Saab Automobile Parts for deliveries that went unpaid.
In 2012, Saab Automobile AB signed an agreement BMW that would see the German automaker deliver four-cylinder gas engines for its 9-3 range.
The suit also asserts that Saab ordered a large number of spare parts, and no payments were made to BMW. At the time, Saab was far from liquid, and filed for bankruptcy in December of last year.
