2005 BMW Z4 3.0i
This Z4 is an example of how an enthusiast car is supposed to be kept. Maintained by the BMW dealer only, per BMW
recommendations and always on time.
Never driven in snow or rain and covered under the factory BMW car cover when not in use. Garaged if not driven.
Because of the low miles nothing mechanical has failed, as you would expect. The only work that has been done to
date is routine oil changes and New Continental DWS performance tires, and check-ups. The paint is near flawless
with only slight scuffs under the nose from steep driveways. The top is perfect as is the rest of the paint and
metal, no scratches or dings. Shiny, glossy, freshly sealed Sterling Grey paint. Black powered canvas top with BMW
windscreen for wind blockage. The interior has enough leather to finish 3 average cars. The options on this car
included the extended leather package which I will always seek when buying a car. This car is equipped with the
Sport Package and Premium Package, these add the following to the interior:
Multi-position M-Sport seats in perfect black Dakota leather
Sport Button (stiffened steering, increased throttle response)
Multi-function leather wrapped steering wheel
Premium Sound Hi-Fi Professional CD player
Automatic Climate Control
Auto-dimming rear view mirror
3.5mm Aux Input
Professional Navigation with flip up 7" screen display
BMW assist and with cell phone syncing
Illuminated "Z4" sill plates
Power windows/locks
Paddle shifters
On-Board Computer
On the outside you will find:
M-Sport Suspension
Dynamic Xenon Headlights w/auto on feature
Ellipsoid 18" wheels with New Continental (Non-Run flat tires)
Heated glass rear window
Rain sensing wipers
Mechanical Highlights:
3.0 Liter 6 Cylinder 225 HP
SMG Gearbox- Like to drive a Manual transmission? Also like driving an Auto at times? This is your car! This
transmission is amazing and will be in my next BMW. In Sport mode this car requires 100% of your attention. Shifts
are lightning fast and crisp! In cruising mode the automatic selection enables you to enjoy more of the drive with
less attention given to keeping it on the road. Truly a his and hers option.
Sport tuned M inspired suspension
Dynamic Traction Control
Tire Pressure monitor system

Next BMW X6 to be larger, more aggressive
Tue, 16 Apr 2013If the current BMW X6, introduced in 2008, is looking a bit too bland for your tastes, have no fear as the next-generation model is reportedly going to be larger and more aggressive than its predecessor.
Autocar is reporting that an insider has revealed the all-new second-generation X6 will make its world debut at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show, going on sale just after summer. More aggressive styling will help BMW distinguish its sportier X6 from BMW's more practical models, such as the X3 and X5, said the source.
The next X6 will again share platforms with the X5, but it will be stretched slightly to provide second-row passengers with more legroom. Powerplants will also likely mirror those of its mainstream cousin, including a range of turbocharged six- and eight-cylinder engines and a range-topping M model (the 2013 BMW X6 M is show above).
Ferrari, BMW lend expertise to Olympic bobsled, skeleton, luge
Mon, Jan 8 2018LONDON — There are plenty of reasons why the sport of bobsleigh is sometimes referred to as Formula One on ice, but few as obvious as Italy's World Cup sleds. Resplendent in Ferrari red, and with a set of team sponsor Pirelli's P-Zero tyres painted on the sides, they are even liveried to look like racing cars. Ferrari, Formula One's most glamorous and successful team, have worked with the Italian federation, whose sleds run without sponsor branding at the Olympics, since 2010 and in the run-up to next month's Pyeongchang Winter Games. Former rival BMW, title sponsor of the World Cup, has long partnered the U.S. bobsleigh team, while McLaren teamed up with Britain's bob and skeleton athletes for the 2014 Sochi Games in Russia. "There's always the link between the Formula One companies, or any motor company, and skeleton and bobsleigh," says Rachel Blackburn, the engineer who has been involved in Britain's skeleton program since 2006 and who used to work for McLaren. "There's the Ferrari sleds and the BMW sleds ... when we were at McLaren it kind of made a good story," she told Reuters by telephone from her home in Dubai. That somewhat manufactured rivalry has died down in the years since Sochi, with McLaren no longer involved and Ferrari's presence low key. But the worlds of grand prix motor racing and sliding sports still have plenty in common. Bobsled, luge and skeleton are among the fastest of Olympic sports, with bobsleds reaching speeds over 90 mph. Drivers are subjected to gut-wrenching G-forces, and crashes can be fatal. And then there is the ongoing debate about cost controls, the direction of future rules, preserving a level playing field and obsessive secrecy — all endlessly recurring themes in Formula One. 80 mph on a tea tray Blackburn said skeleton, where riders hit 80 mph on what has glibly been compared to an oversized tea-tray, sits somewhere between Americas Cup yachts and Formula One cars in terms of speed and aerodynamics. "Applied engineering is far more interesting than the pure stuff, so when its applied to something that's fun and exciting it does make it a lot easier to solve problems," she said. "There is the Americas Cup, sailing, Formula One and the high speed ice sports as well. It's the same concept.
BMW planning to stretch i3 into i5 family hauler?
Sat, 30 Nov 2013If you're sweet on the new BMW i3 but wish it had more space to carry people and stuff, we've got good news for you. According to Autocar, BMW is planning on stretching the platform that underpins the i3 to create a new model, expected to be called i5.
The stretch job would add an extra four inches of legroom in the back and another six inches of rear overhang to the benefit of cargo space. The result would create a vehicle longer than the current Mini Countryman - although the next Countryman is likely to be even larger. As Autocar points out, the process of extending the i3's composte passenger cell likely wouldn't be as difficult or cost-intensive as lengthening a conventional metal chassis, although the rear doors would need to be re-engineered.
Whether the resulting vehicle would more closely resemble a hatchback, wagon, minivan or something in between remains to be seen, however BMW is said to have already registered the nameplates i1 through i8, signalling that the possibility is at least there to add more members to its new EV family.
