BMW states that they build the UDM (Ultimate Driving Machine) and I agree. I have been a sports car enthusiast since my 20's. Now in my 70's, I must say that this is the best sports car I have ever owned. It is a pleasure to drive. I am the third owner. The first owner was a rocket scientist at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. He owned a place at Fort Myers, FL, where he kept this car. After his death, he left the car to his property caretaker. The caretaker was a large man and found he didn't fit into this roadster and he told me that he would rather have the money than to have a car he didn't fit into. I bought it from him about three years ago. Presently, I own two sports cars and being in my 70's I've slowed down somewhat. I own two other cars as well as the sport cars. I don't have that many places to go for all the cars I own. This BMW is a beautiful automobile and needs someone to drive it, therefore I'm putting it up for auction. It has a tonneau cover that you can see in the pictures. The soft top is a little over a year old. The original top was tan and was in good condition except for the piping around the rear window. Someone who lives about 10 blocks away from my house has the same BMW so I thought I would make mine a little more head-turning. I had a burgundy top installed. Burgandy is the factory color. Actually, it appears redder than what I thought it would be. It stops a lot of folks to have a look at it when they walk by.

Payment must be complete within 7 days. Any negotiable payment is acceptable as long as it is in U.S. Dollars and in my pocket within that 7 day period.

Shipping is the responsiblity of the buyer. I will, if the buyer pays for my full expenses, deliver it to your doorstep as long as your doorstep is in the lower 48 states. I will also meet the buyer at the San Antonio International Airport and deliver the car to you there where you can drive away. You may contact me on my mobile phone @830-370-6782.

Thanks for your interest and good bidding.

Reveal of next-gen BMW 7 Series set for June 10

Wed, Jun 3 2015

Executive vice presidents of the world, your next sedan is debuting in just a few days. BMW is finally taking the wraps off the next-gen 7 Series on June 10, and the Bavarian brand's teaser video provides a few early hints about the high-class model. Highlighting a 750Li, the camera in the teaser swoops around the sedan to show off its laser headlights. The badge for BMW's Carbon Core also gets some of the limelight here to proclaim the extensive use of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic. This clip doesn't give much more away, though. However, BMW has already spilled the beans about some of the other futuristic features for the new 7 Series in an earlier tease. The sedan is essentially a rolling technological showcase and offers functions like remote-controlled parking that's run from the key fob. Inside, using the infotainment system is possible with three-dimensional gesture control by waving your hand in the air in the right area. The extensive amount of CFRP in the passenger cell also helps save 287 pounds over the previous generation. If buyers are really looking for opulence, they can also reportedly order a massive, panoramic glass roof and a leather-covered engine cover. Expect a full rundown of all of the 7 Series' lavish features when the sedan debuts.

2015 BMW X4 slides in on the diagonal starting at $45,625 in the US

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

If BMW has shown us anything, it's a knack for creating niches and expanding its product portfolio. Go back to the early '90s and it had essentially four models: the 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series and 7 Series. End of list. Since then, the Bavarian automaker has not only taken on Mini and Rolls-Royce, but has expanded its own range of models exponentially. You can chalk a big part of that up to crossovers, and another sizable chunk to giving existing models a different roofline and calling it something new. What we have here is a prime example of both.
Previewed in concept form the better part of a year ago at the Shanghai Motor Show, the slantback version of the X3 (and the baby brother to the X6) is now here in full production guise. Mechanically it's essentially the same as the new X3 on which it's based, but amps up the "sport" at the expense of the "utility" part of the SUV equation.
BMW will undoubtedly offer a wide range of powertrain configurations in markets around the world, but back in the United States it'll be offered in two specs: the X4 xDrive28i, packing a 2.0-liter inline-four with 240 horsepower and a $45,625 sticker price (including destination), or the X4 xDrive35i with the 300hp 3.0-liter six and a $48,925 MSRP. Either way, you're getting an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.

Project CARS vs reality at Laguna Seca shows amazing potential

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Project CARS is aiming to be the next great racing sim. Offering a mix of modern and classic cars on famous tracks, developer Slightly Mad Studios is trying to inject a fresh energy into the genre, and at the moment its game looks ready to take on Forza and Gran Turismo.
The game is still about six months from release, and the graphics already look practically photorealistic. The video below shows side-by-side laps of Laguna Seca in a BMW - real life on the left and the game on the right. It's absolutely astounding. Other than some changes to the sponsorship around the track, they are almost identical.
Of course anyone with quality seat time in a racing sim knows that graphics are just one factor. How the game feels is even more important, and without getting hands on, it's impossible to judge yet. However, consider our interest piqued. Project CARS is scheduled to launch in November on the Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, Nintendo WiiU, Windows PC and Steam OS. Scroll down to check out the video.
