2001 Bmw Z3 3.0i Coupe - Only 36k Miles - $21,000 Obo on 2040-cars
San Luis Obispo, California, United States
2001 Z3 3.0i Coupe! Only 36,500 miles! Excellent Condition, garaged since purchase in 2001, well maintained, fun and fast, a wonderful car to own and drive. Because it is a coupe, people always stop and ask me about the car. I am very sad to be selling this car, but I plan on doing some extensive traveling and I don't want the car to sit in storage.
I am the second owner, purchased the car from my neighbor in 2011 with only 21K miles with the original tires. Just had the car professionally detailed, oil changed, new BMW battery, newer brakes, newer sport tires. Car runs like a dream. Silver exterior with black leather sport seats, 3.0 liter, will all standard equipment. |

BMW M3 and M4 will rock 430 hp from twin-turbo six with standard manual [w/video]
Wed, 25 Sep 2013We're not sure which spec we're most intrigued by for the new BMW M3 and M4: the twin-turbo six-cylinder with 430 horsepower and "far beyond" 369 pound-feet of torque, the 3,300-pound curb weight or the standard six-speed manual transmission with automatic throttle blipping on downshifts. That engine is fitted with both Valvetronic and Double-Vanos, twin-wire arc-spray coating in the cylinders instead of liners to save weight, a track-ready cooling system with additional radiators, a forged crankshaft, dry-sump lubrication and a magnesium oil sump. BMW says its "high revving concept" has a redline beyond 7,500 rpm.
In the M4, it will be pulling a coupe with "a weight of just under 1,500 kilograms," which is 3,300 pounds to you and me. That number is said to include no driver and 90 percent fuel, but we're still waiting on the exact number and specs. BMW says it's "around 80 kilograms lighter than a comparably equipped predecessor model," putting the power-to-weight ratio at something like 7.68 pounds per horsepower at the same time as it helps reduce fuel consumption by 25 percent. The use of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) for the roof, drive shaft (with no center bearing), trunk and front strut brace, and forged aluminum for suspension components, have aided in the weight loss. This time around, the sedan - the M3 - will also get a CFRP roof.
The default option will be a six-speed manual.
BMW 1 Series with B38 three-cylinder engine
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Downsizing For BMW's Front-Wheel-Drive And i Futures
Output is quoted at 175 horsepower and BMW says it will hit 62 mph in 7.0 seconds.
The red five-door BMW 1 Series seen in this photo gallery has little to do with what is actually of importance here. What we've just tested at an airfield not far from Munich, Germany, is a new 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo inline three-cylinder gas engine that we'll be hearing an awful lot about in the coming few years.
BMW recalls over 76k 2012-2014 models over brake failure
Sat, 28 Sep 2013Bimmerfest is reporting that BMW has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of its intention to voluntarily recall more than 75,000 3 Series, 5 Series, X1, X3 and Z4 models due to a possible loss of power brake assist that could result in the vehicles failing to stop. The recall affects 2012-2014 models equipped with either the N20 or N26 engine produced from May 2012 to August 2013. Until recall repairs have been performed, BMW dealers will discontinue selling or delivering any affected vehicles in their inventories.
The problem has been traced to restricted oil supply from the intake camshaft to the brake vacuum pump, which may cause the brake vacuum pump to fail, resulting in a loss of power brake assist. While the hydraulic brakes will still function, the driver must much apply greater pedal pressure and the distance required to stop the vehicle will increase.
BMW has reported three minor accidents with no confirmed injuries. According to Bimmerfest, drivers who encounter a braking problem should "pull the emergency brake and apply as much brake pedal pressure as possible. If your BMW has an electronic parking brake pull up and hold the switch to engage the brake." Drivers should then park in a safe location and contact BMW Roadside Assistance.
