The condition of the exterior, interior and engine can vary depending on the vehicle's history. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"Dash lights out (short, easy fix), hole driver tail light (dime-sized), chips in paint with minor rust, corrosion on wheels, fair tread, cracked front bumper cover, dent passenger rear roof, peeling spoiler, scratches rear bumper/driver rear/pass rear, missing emblems hood wheels, missing int trim, ac system needs vacuumed, wiper fl dispenser not working, missing rear wiper blade, catalytic conv, airbag light on, brake pad light on (newer pads put in by friend, needs fact reset), missing shifter cover, needs alignment, chipped/old windshield, tear in driver seat, sagging glove comp, missing cargo area speaker cover, faulty weather stripping/seal at top of driver door, sagging headliner, worn interior ceiling lights (left one is finicky)"

Condition: all defects listed to the best of my ability in the related description.  The clutch was replaced around 140,000 miles (oem from bavauto.com), new driver door (not from collision, motor arm cracked and jammed inside), new front rotors, new front passenger caliper (all oem), engine pulls strong, no clicking/knocking, steady idle, needs alignment, passenger seat "loose" (wiggles back and forth about an inch), ENGINE PRETTY MUCH PERFECT.

Oil changes have been every 7,000 miles with full synthetic.  Always 93 octane fuel.  New wiper blades.

I purchased this car as my first vehicle when I was 19 (now 26).  It was my daily driver for a long time, but other responsibilities and life in general put the Coupe to the wayside.  It is capable of being so much more.  KBB value at current mileage is a little over $11,000 in "fair" condition.  Seeing as how most of the work needed is minor and cosmetic, I think my starting price is fair, as well.  It turns heads still, very unique car, and I have had a few offers in the last few months from passer-bys, but I have decided to list it to expand the exposure.

I owe $3,600 on the car.  I was unemployed for some time and had to work a deal with the bank to extend and lower the payments.  I'm not looking for sympathy, just know that I will need to acquire the title before any pick-up or shipping arrangements can be fulfilled.  It's time to let this car go, and hopefully someone else can make this car what it is truly meant to be.

2013 BMW M3 Coupe Lime Rock Park Edition

Sic Transit Gloria
I like difficult cars. I like turbo "moments," dramatic weight distribution, low-grip, peaky power delivery, and overly quick steering, along with ultra-short wheelbases and any number of other non-racecar-perfect dynamic foibles. I love the newest generation of BMW cars and engines - all turbo'd up with tons of torque and power everywhere in the rev range, too. But what I think the enthusiast community will miss when this 2013 M3 Coupe becomes the 2014 M4 Coupe - replacing its idiosyncratic, small-displacement, revvy V8 for something like a triple-turbo, directly injected, inline six-cylinder powerhouse in the process - is the work it takes to drive the car fast and perfectly. Sometimes small flaws just make things better; my mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun, and all that.
The idea of this E92 M3 going away then, magnified by the loss of the M3 badge for the coupe, is at best bittersweet for me. This generation of M car is already surpassed in terms of raw thrills by the better-than-ever Mercedes-Benz C63, a car that doesn't ask its driver to sacrifice low-end grunt or the very latest in amenities in return for stellar backroad performance. Yet any time I've been lucky enough to lap a track in the M3, it has quickly become clear that the Bimmer is the better on-edge tool. With the freedom to wring the neck of the 4.0-liter V8 and room to exercise the lovely balance of the car, the E92 is hard to match (even six years after its debut).

BMW i3 REx rated at 117 MPGe, 39 mpg with 72-mile EV range

Thu, May 22 2014

The numbers haven't made their digital way to the EPA's website yet, but we can now confirm that the BMW i3 with range extender will be officially rated at a combined 117 MPGe with 39 mpg once the battery runs out. That puts the amazing little city car just ahead of the pure-electric Fiat 500e (116 MPGE, combined) and behind the Honda Fit EV (118) and the Chevy Spark EV (119). In the plug-in hybrid category, it's at the top of the class, beating out the Honda Accord PHEV, which is rated at 115 MPGe but is also a much bigger vehicle. The i3 REx also has an official all-electric range of 72 miles and can go another 78 on gas (for a total of 150). When it's not carrying around the extra fuel tank and engine, the all-electric i3 gets 124 MPGe (combined), which is the currently the highest in the US. The i3 EV also has an all-electric range of 81 miles. BMW expects to deliver the first i3 REx in the US this week and delivered the first all-electric version earlier this month. There was a bit of a hold-up on the range-extender version thanks to a delay with getting these EPA numbers. Now that all the bureaucratic boxes have been checked, it's off to customer driveways they go.

Evo pits BMW M3 against Porsche Macan in drag battle

Sun, 24 Aug 2014

If you want to move five passengers in very rapid fashion and you've got a $75,000 budget, two newly introduced four-door models immediately come to mind - both are the highest performing vehicles in their respective segments. But which is faster off the line, to the 60-mile-per-hour benchmark or flat-out over an even longer run? Evo took both to paved aircraft runway to find out.
In lane one we've got the all-new Porsche Macan Turbo, which boasts a twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter V6 rated at 400 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The Porsche is fitted with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, and the 4,244-pound crossover has the traction advantage of standard all-wheel drive. In lane two is the all-new BMW M3, powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six rated at 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. It is also equipped with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, but only the rear wheels of the 3,595-pound sedan are driven. Both the BMW and Porsche arrive with launch control, which helps to remove driver error off the line.
Which automaker's launch control system is better off the line? Does all-wheel-drive grip give the crossover the advantage it needs to overcome its adversary's power-to-weight advantage? Will aerodynamics factor into the results? Which would you put in your garage, and why? The video may surprise you.
