1999 Bmw M Roadster No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Cornelia, Georgia, United States
This is my 1999 BMW M Roadster. I LOVE this car, I am selling only because I bought an M3 and really don't need both. If you are looking you already know the M Roadster rarity. They only made 8900
total. Check out the wiki artricle! I looked for over a year to find this one, an Imola Red on Black with the factory hard top. It has been well maintained. In the past year, new window regulators, new tires, new brakes, new Bilstein struts, and the wheels were refinished, and complete service. There is NO curb rash. There are no mods aside from the Bilsteins. She runs and drives perfectly, I would drive it anywhere. AC is ice cold. No shuddering or pulling when braking, no strange vibrations. Over all it's a 9/10. The sets are in great shape for age, the soft top is in avg shape. The rear window is new, but I have not installed it, it is in the box. It zips in, so takes under an hour from what I have read. The old window is fogged as consistent with age. There is a mark here or there consistent with age. I had the car detailed 2 months ago, including clay bar and hand wax. She is pretty darn clean. The front bumper has marks consistent with age, the interior is a solid 9/10. The top can sometimes take a few pushes of the button to engage, but it has never let me down. It isn't weak, just sometimes takes a few pushes of the button to get the hint. The radio powers on with no dead pixels, but no sound, so would need a replacement or an aftermarket. If you are going to do it right, the factory speakers arent great in these cars so a new stereo and speakers is highly recommended and a very worthwhile upgrade. I enjoy the engine sound myself. ;) The windows operate like new, thanks to the new regulators. No weird dash lights. This car has been driven carefully and well maintained. Not abused, or raced, and has been garaged. The factory hard-top ($1800 on ebay) is included with the sale. Also included is the factory wind-screen ($290) and the original owners manual, as well as the original BMW tire repair kit. Also a full car cover is included. I never get out of the car without a huge grin on my face. It is just a joy to drive. This is one that needs nothing but to hop in and enjoy. NO reserve! If you are local feel free to come by and have a look. It is going to make the next owner very happy. Clear title in hand, never wrecked. Thanks for looking! |

2015 BMW M4 gets initiated into the club
Fri, 22 Aug 2014It's easy for enthusiasts and traditionalists to give BMW a hard time these days, what with its plans to add more front-wheel drive models and seeming move away from more emotionally connected cars. However, the push for perfection that underscored its old Ultimate Driving Machine motto is still in there, especially in its M models. In fact, the first M4 recently made it to US shores, and the company thought the only appropriate way to celebrate was to introduce its new coupe to some of its high-performance forefathers.
The M4's initiation into the M car brotherhood involved bringing together no fewer than 52 classic and newer models - including four racecars and many privately owned vehicles - to an empty parking lot and letting the coupe drift and slalom around them to say hello. According to BMW, there was a combined 11,566 horsepower on hand. It takes a pretty trusting owner to stand back and watch as a brand-new vehicle slides its tail out with the rear wheels smoking within feet of their pride and joy. Stay tuned until the end where the owners and their cars get a shout out in the credits. Scroll down to read BMW's press release about it.
BMW to follow Honda back into F1?
Mon, 14 Apr 2014The economic downturn wrought devastating effects on motor racing. Formula One alone lost half its engine suppliers when Honda left at the end of the 2008 season, and both BMW and Toyota followed at the end of 2009. But things are looking up again. Cosworth may have dropped out this season, reducing the engine suppliers to three: Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes, the latter of which admits that it may have left had the engine formula not changed. But Mercedes has stayed and is dominating the championship. Honda is coming back next season. And word around the paddock is it may not be the only one.
According to Giancarlo Minardi - founder of the team now known as Scuderia Toro Rosso - BMW engineers have been conspicuously spotted lately at F1 test sessions and grands prix, lending to speculation that the new engine regulations may entice the Bavarian automaker back into the series. According to Minardi, BMW's marketing division is pushing for the automaker's return to F1, with the board slated to make a decision in May. BMW would be more likely to consider an engine-supply deal rather than taking a team over like it had with Sauber, but with which team or teams it might collaborate remains a big question mark at this point.
As if that's not enough, Ford is said to be considering taking over Cosworth's aborted V6 turbo engine program to take both outfits back into the sport as well. Cosworth supplied F1 engines under the Ford banner for years, but returned under its own name for four seasons from 2010 through 2013 before shuttering its program to develop an engine to meet the new regulations adopted this season.
Vorsteiner BMW M4 GTRS4 shows how to do a widebody at SEMA
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Part of the joy of the SEMA Show is that all of the best tuners in the world are competing to show off their wares, and the challenge often pushes the companies into some absolutely insane directions. Case in point: Vorsteiner and its ludicrous GTRS4 wide body kit with the BMW M4.
According to Auto Evolution, the kit reportedly adds 4 inches in the front to fit 10.5-inch-wide wheels and a massive 7-inches more in the rear to snug in 13.5-inch-wide wheels, but spinning around the BMW in these images makes the changes look even more extreme. Beyond just the extra room in the fenders, the lower air intakes are ready to suck in huge volumes of cool air, and there's a front splitter to keep things planted. The front and rear extensions are joined by side sills that grow the farther back they go. Finally, at the rear, the M4 gets a reworked diffuser with mesh inserts.
This is just the type of automotive craziness that makes SEMA interesting. Take a lot at it for yourself in the gallery.
