Six cylinder 2.8 L engine w/ 5sp manual transmission.. Runs great. New premium high-speed tires, new radiator and water pump, new battery. Canvas top replaced in 2008. It has 119,400 miles but still runs great. As you would expect from a BMW, the engine has plenty of life left. I have never had any problems with it. The car comes with free Sirius satellite radio and has an upgraded MP3/ CD Player and premium sound system. The wheels are upgraded 19" premium wheels with locking bolts. The AC runs cold. It has the optional power top, power windows and locks, heated dual power leather seats, dual air bags, cruise control and much more! Car comes with custom fitted cover. BMW i3 misses top Euro safety rating [w/videos]
Wed, 27 Nov 2013The Euro NCAP just tested a recent batch of new cars including the 2014 BMW i3, and the EV Bimmer scored less-than-perfect results. Though not horrible, BMW's all-electric/range-extended i3 was given a four-star (out of five possible) crash rating due to concerns with front-occupant whiplash and side-impact protection.
Based on the crash results, the BMW provided suitable protection for occupants in the frontal, side barrier, pedestrian and child-seat tests, but the i3 was tripped up when it came to the more severe side pole test and the rear-impact test. The pole test showed protection to the chest of the test dummy was "weak," and the front seats only provided "marginal" protection against whiplash for front passengers. 18,000 BMW models recalled for potential fuel pump failure
Fri, Apr 10 2015BMW will be recalling over 18,000 vehicles from the 2, 3 and 4 Series families, including vehicles from model years 2014 and 2015, due to potentially bad fuel pumps. The full roster of vehicles includes four- and six-cylinder models of all hardtop 2 Series models, rear-, all-wheel-drive and Gran Turismo versions of the 3 Series, and coupe, convertible, Gran Coupe, rear- and all-wheel-drive 4 Series models. The 3 Series ActiveHybrid is also included in the recall, although the 3 Series diesel line has been left alone. According to the bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "improper" nickel plating on some of the parts could lead to a failure of the fuel pump, leading to a stall situation. BMW is planning to notify owners and will begin replacing the fuel pumps of affected vehicles at the end of the month.
