I hate to sell my "SPY CAR", but I have lost my winter storage and don't want to wait till fall to sell.  I lose out on a driving season and you gain one!

I purchased this Classic BMW beauty on E-Bay in the fall of 2008.  At the time the vehicle only had 5,000 miles and was and still is in like new condition. I flew to Boston and drove her back home to Canada.

The "beamer" is an American built vehicle and the odometer (distance travelled) reads in mileage and not kilometres. Like most vehicles on the road, the speedometer shows both, mileage and kilometres  For anyone in Canada that might be concerned if the Z-3 is Canadian Certified, then please don't be!  I installed the day time running light module and it had no other issues for passing the Canadian safety. I have the R.I.V. certificate sticker placed on the interior of the trunk lid. { See Photo's } Plus I would not been able to have driven it for the last 6 years if it wasn't certified!

Amazingly, she only has 16,900 miles, or 27,200 klm.  That averages out to only 1,000 miles a year.

I am a VERY FUSSY vehicle owner and truly babied this Z-3 from day one. She had been my dream car when they came out in 1996!  Oil and filter change every season, no exceptions. Coolant flush and fill was performed 3 yrs ago.  She really didn't need much else!

The paint was waxed at least twice a season. Our driving season is short, only from mid May till mid October. I always waited until mid-May to put her on the road as I wanted all the winter road grime to be cleaned away.  The paint sparkles as she was still in the show room.

At 50 plus years of age, I can assure you that I am NO speed demon. I never did anything stupid with this car, in regards to speed or misuse!

This car is a real head turner and conversation piece. Don't expect to get gas or go shopping without someone "drooling" and wanting to talk about this beauty.  My license plate reads "SPY CAR", because James Bond used a BMW Z-3 in the 1996 movie Golden Eye. The first time that a German car was used for James Bond and the first movie ever to show off the all new Z-3 .

The beamer is equipped with a computer performance chip, a performance exhaust and a K&N air filter system. These three items help bring the horse power up from the stock 190 to apprx. 210.  The performance exhaust is not too loud and won't break any windows ha-ha, but does give the car a very nice "throaty" sound!  I still have the original exhaust and you are welcome to take that home with you as well.

I also installed a three (3) spoke European Style steering wheel. Looks so much nicer than the stock wheel. I have also installed roll bars that finishes off that unique roadster convertible look. The front part of the hood and front bumper have a clear vinyl protective cover, that the original owner had installed.

Even though the Michelin Pilot tires are 17 years old, you would think they were new. No cracks on the side walls with plenty of tread depth.

The "Zed" was always just a sunny day summer drive and seldom driven in the rain. Always garaged by mid October.

She comes with the original set of keys and key-less entry. She also has an Alarm system.

I have also purchased the cream colour, tailored fit car cover along with the hood nose bra, front bumper bra and R.V. Mirror covers.

I could go on ALL day bragging about my "Spy Car", but I will finish with the following;

You will simply not be disappointed with this Z-3.  If I love it then I am almost certain that you will as well. As I said earlier, I am extremely fussy about the vehicles I drive and how I take care of them. Pride in ownership shows, inside and out!!!

I also wanted to mention that this Z-3 is more than ready to take on any road trip you might have in mind. She is presently still in storage and will stay that way until she finds a new home. I have NO plans to drive her this year so the mileage will not change. I will also change the engine oil and filter before she leaves and do my best to make sure she is road ready.

If you use my BIN option, I will give pay your first  $500.00 usd  for either your shipping or travel cost. I will also include the cream colour car cover { worth $300.00 plus } and both hood and front bumper bra's along with the R.V. mirror covers. { worth another $200.00 plus } .  All three items would easily cost you over $500.00 usd.     Save $1,000.00 just for using my BIN option!!!

If you are the lucky winner, I will also need a $1,000.00 deposit on Pay-Pal within 48 hrs.  The remain cost of the vehicle can be paid with either a Bank Draft or Money Order. You can also come with cash if you are picking her up and driving her home. Awesome time of the year for a "top down" trip on the highway!

If you are pre-paying in advance, then I will need sufficient time to clear your choice of payment, before the car can leave.  NO PAY PAL please for final payment.

I pride myself in being an honest, friendly seller with very good communication skills.  I do my best to answer all questions in a timely manner and remember, there are NO stupid questions.  The more you ask the more you will know about this Classic Z-3 and the more you will realize that you should purchase her!!

If you are shipping this vehicle, I will be happy to do what I can, to help you in this process. Please be aware that you are fully responsible for obtaining any documentation that is required for this car to cross the border, registering and insuring this vehicle once you get it home. Again, I will be happy to work with you and help in any way I can.

Last but not least. Please don't be concerned about the date stamp on the pictures. Yes the pictures were taken in 2009, but in NO WAY is the Z-3 any different today then it was then. Only the mileage has changed.  I only drove it apprx. 2,000 miles a year.  My drive back from Boston was just over 2,000 miles.

I sincerely apologies if I have made any errors in my write up. I am being completely honest and up front about this Z-3 and tried to describe it as accurately as possible.  If you read something that doesn't make sense, then please don't hesitate to bring it to my attention!   THANKS!

Thanks for reading and all the BEST in your search!

BMW 6 Series Convertible gets a little work done for 2015

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

Truth be told, I've never really found the modern BMW 6 Series to be a particularly attractive car, in Coupe, Convertible, or sedan Gran Coupe forms. This current generation certainly looks a whole lot better than the Bangle-fied Six that came before it to my eyes, but on the whole, I find much of the car's design to be fussy and awkward. There's a new 6 Series on the way, scheduled to arrive sometime in 2017 or 2018, but to hold us over until then, BMW is freshening its current range, as evidenced by this convertible prototype our trusty spies recently caught testing.
Will the changes to the current 6 Series be an improvement? Perhaps. Up front, there are restyled headlamps and a new front bumper, and at the rear, BMW has redesigned the LED taillamps to bring them more in line with the rest of the company's offerings. Aside from those modest tweaks, we don't expect much more to change on the Big Six - the interior will likely carry over with some minor tweaks (or new colors), and it's possible the powertrains could be massaged gently for gains in either power, efficiency, or both.
Whether you think this new look is pretty or not, this freshened 6 Series will likely debut sometime next year, while BMW's engineers and designers craft the all-new version. See it from several angles in our gallery, above.

Alpina D3 may be coming to Frankfurt with 350 hp, AWD

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

Rumors are swirling that Alpina, the tuning house that specializes in all things BMW, will followup its Geneva debut of the B3 Bi-Turbo with an oil-burning variant slated for debut at September's Frankfurt Motor Show. The news comes from Auto Zeitung, which reports that the second-generation D3 will be based off the Europe-only 335d.
This is a departure from the last D3, which had the four-cylinder turbo-diesel from the BMW 123d in a 3 Series body. The new model is expected to use a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged inline-six, which will generate 350 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. That should scoot it to 62 miles per hour in under five seconds (likely while towing a tree stump). Both rear- and all-wheel drive should be available on the D3, and we imagine the thrill of this much power channeled through just the two rear wheels to be akin to skydiving sans parachute.
For our European friends that want an Alpina D3, but don't need more torque than any American full-size pickup, there may be plans to offer a four-cylinder variant that still delivers Alpina performance without a compromise in economy. We'll have more on the Alpina D3 when it debuts at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

BMW celebrates with M4 DTM Champion Edition

Tue, 21 Oct 2014

Go back just a few seasons, and Germany's DTM touring car series was a straight-up competition between Audi and Mercedes-Benz. But BMW rejoined the race in 2012, winning both the drivers' and constructors' titles on its first year back and celebrating with a special matte-black M3 DTM Champion Edition. Last season, it won the constructors' championship but not the drivers', and this year it did the opposite. In short, it's been an impressive comeback for the Bavarian automaker, and to celebrate this year's accomplishments, it's followed up with the new M4 DTM Champion Edition for Europe you see here.
Based on the new M4 coupe - which forms the basis for BMW's DTM challenger as well as its pace car - the Champion Edition is distinguished by its special livery: The orange grille frame, the matte black hood and trunk with multicolored stripes, the black stripes along its shoulder and rocker panel, and the blacked-out 19-inch wheels all to pay homage to champion Marco Wittmann's racecar, as does special lettering on the rear windows.
Other enhancements include black front splitter and skirts, carbon front flaps and mirror caps, rear spoiler and carbon diffuser, while autographed sill plates and carbon interior trim with the car's serial number adorn the cabin. Only 23 examples will be offered, symbolic of the number adorning the winning tin-top racer and the flank of this special edition as well.
