Up for auction is my 1996 BMW Z3 Roadster Convertible, silver with black interior, and NEW black ragtop. The car is originally from Georgia and has been stored indoors through every winter since I purchased it. It has VERY low mileage, under 41,000. It has a clear title as well as a clear CarFax report. The car passed the New York State Inspection in May of this year. It has always been well maintained, and has always been maintained on time. When i bought it, i had the undercarriage, wheel wells, engine bay, and door panels professionally sealed and coated, as well as having the paint sealed, which was all done at Ziebart in Rochester, NY. I have always babied this car and taken great care of it since the day i purchased it. It really is a great little car and a lot of fun to drive. It turns heads everywhere you go!
Let me tell you the details of the car....
Automatic Transmission
1.9L 4 Cylinder Engine
Rear Wheel Drive
Power Windows, Locks, Mirrors, Both Seats, Cruise Control, Factory Security System
Air Conditioning, AM/FM Cassette Stereo with Premium Factory Speakers
Factory 16" Aluminum 5 Spoke Wheels, Tires Are Fuzion HRi, 215/55/16(Front) 225/50/16(Rear
The vehicle has very few flaws and none of them large flaws at all. It is missing the center cap on the drivers side front wheel, the leather is peeling up a little on the top of the drivers side door panel. It has a few scratches here and there but none are deep, nor larger than half of an inch. The weather stripping is beginning to show some wear but has years left, and the base of the passenger side mirror has a small amout of corrosion on the aluminum.
The car is functioning perfect mechanically, it needs nothing done to it. You could drive it home, and everyday after without issue. Like I said earlier, it is an amazing little car and a ton of fun to drive. I hate to let it go, but as you all know, the economy is a mess and i have 3 other car payments.
Please feel free to ask any questions you have. I can also take other specific picture upon request.
SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY!! YOU MAY HEAR IT RUN IN PERSON, BUT DRIVING IT WILL BE AT MY DISCRETION, NO JOYRIDES!!!!!
Thank you for your interest, and good luck!!!
This is a RESERVE PRICE Auction. If my minumum price isnt met, i will not sell the car, or I reserve the right to sell it to the highest bidder if it is colse to my price. Thaks again!!

Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo torquing its way toward Frankfurt
Mon, 09 Sep 2013Few tuners benefit from the kind of factory support that Alpina does, giving the pseudo-aftermarket firm nearly as much official status as BMW's own M division. And this is its latest product.
Set to debut, as expected, at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week is the new Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo, which you can consider, for all intents and purposes, the diesel M3 that BMW never built. While the outgoing D3 (which was Alpina's best-selling model) used a four-cylinder engine, Autocar reports that the new model packs a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo inline-six diesel to drive a respectable 345 horsepower but a mammoth 516 pound-feet of torque to either the rear wheels or all four through the optional availability of xDrive. (European buyers will also be able to choose between sedan and wagon bodystyles.)
The engine is the same as you'd find in the XD3 and D5 (Alpina's diesel performance versions of the X3 and 5 Series, respectively), but in the lighter 3 Series form can propel the D3 Bi-Turbo up to 62 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds and on to an Autobahn-crunching top speed of 173 mph. And as per Alpina tradition, visual cues are minimal, with a subtly optimized aero kit and 19- or available 20-inch alloy wheels. Unfortunately, the 7 Series-based B7 is the only Alpina we get on this side of the Atlantic, but an oil-drenched performance enthusiast can dream.
BMW reveals M4 safety car with innovating water injection system [w/video]
Fri, Feb 13 2015Racing series don't just pick their safety cars at random, or use just whatever car is lying around. These days the car that sets the pace at the front of the pack is typically provided through consideration by a sponsor. In the MotoGP series, that's BMW and its M division, which have served up the Official Car of MotoGP since 1999. What you're looking at is the latest, and it packs some innovative technology on board. Aside from the matte black wrap with BMW's iconic striped livery, upgraded aero kit, retrofitted interior and emergency equipment, this BMW M4 coupe packs a new injection system under the hood. Only instead of injecting fuel, it injects water into the combustion chamber – something that wouldn't usually be recommended, but BMW insists actually aids in the combustion process. The idea is that the temperature of the air being mixed with the fuel inside the engine is usually hotter than ideal, so the system injects a fine mist of water into the collector in order to reduce the air's temperature... sort of like one of those hydrating misters at an amusement park or outdoor mall, but in an even hotter environment. The system brings the temperature of the air down to a more optimal temperature, helping it combust better. The process is said to yield a number of positive effects. For one, it reduces knocking. For another, it can make more out of lower-octane fuel where higher octane isn't available. It also can control the adverse effects of higher ambient temperature on the combustion process. But most of all, it increases output and reduce fuel consumption by around eight percent. Whether that eight percent is worth the added weight of the system – particularly with water pump and a 1.3-gallon tank in the trunk – is up for debate. But we'd imagine that the Bavarian engineers have weighed very carefully. Of course there's also the matter of refilling the water tank, which BMW says would be carried out whenever the safety car is refueled, but in real-world conditions would only necessitate attention once every five top-ups at the gas station. By now you might have guessed that BMW probably didn't develop this system just for the MotoGP safety car, and isn't planning on keeping it confined to the racetrack. Instead it's being tested and demonstrated on the safety car before being rolled out on production models in the future.
