For sale is a meticulously well maintained 2009 BMW X5 xDrive30i. It came from the factory with just about every option available: Premium Package, Technology Package, Sport Package, Cold Weather Package, etc.. Everything on the car is in perfect working condition, with the exception of one of the two right rear brake lights (went out last week and haven't gotten around to changing it) and the manual sun shade on the rear drivers side window (crack in the plastic support bar). Still handles and drives like new (it gets hand washed and detailed every Saturday morning, if the weather cooperates). Never smoked in (still has the new car smell), and never taken off-road. The windows have been tinted all the way around (20% rear, 35% front) and are covered under a lifetime warranty from the installer (can provide contact information after auction-end).
If you're in the market for a well maintained X5, I think you'll be hard-pressed to find a better deal. Edmunds.com values it at $29,465 Retail and $24,497 Trade-In (the Buy-It-Now is closer to current average black book values). I'm currently in the market for a new vehicle and considered trading this one in, but wanted to give an individual, rather than the dealer, a chance to get into it at well below market. Clear title (no accidents or fender benders), ready for a new home. As mentioned above, please keep in mind that the vehicle is used and no used vehicle is perfect, as such there may be signs of normal cosmetic and mechanical wear. Cafe racer motorbikes storm Japan
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Japan may be best known, at least among motorcycle enthusiasts, for its sport bikes. But as we found at the Tokyo Motor Show this year, Japanese motorcycle manufacturers are capable of producing all kinds of motorbikes. And to our delight, that includes cafe racers.
Along with the myriad electric bikes, dirt bikes, crotch rockets and scooters, the halls of Tokyo's Big Site convention center this year were full of the retro-infused rides we love. Chief among them was the Bolt (shown above) which Yamaha exhibited alongside their various electric two-wheelers, sporting a delicious metallic blue paintjob, inverted handlebars and hanging mirrors, machined metal bits, blacked-out trim and saddle brown leatherwork.
Honda was also on hand with a new EX version of its '70s-style CB1100 retro roadster in sinister and low-key matte black. And this was our first chance to check out BMW Motorrad's new birthday present to its 90-year-old self, the R NineT, a model recently unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. But one of the most amusing retro rides we came across was the Honda Monkey Limited, a mini bike that makes the new 125cc Grom (which was displayed alongside it) look positively gigantic.
BMW i8 recalled over possible fuel leak
Wed, Dec 10 2014Some 223 examples of the 2014 BMW i8, built between May 16, 2014 and September 16, 2014, are being recalled over a potential fuel leak. A bolt used to secure a ground cable from the chassis structure to the fuel tank could have been welded improperly; if so, gas might leak from the tank. The recall began in November, so if any of you owner types aren't aware by now, you can take your i8 to the dealer for replacement of the fuel tank if necessary. BMW M4 Convertible poised for Goodwood unveil
Sat, 22 Mar 2014It shouldn't be a shock that BMW is working on a convertible version of the M4. Not only have we caught it testing twice, but this is an automaker that seems willing to build a vehicle for nearly every buyer's needs. Evo claims that the high-performance droptop is going to debut at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed in England from June 26-29.
Judging from the spy shots we've seen, the M4 Convertible will consist of a retractable hard top like the 4 Series cabrio. Other than the roof, there aren't expected to be many changes from the coupe. The engine will be the same turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, but the added weight of the roof and its mechanism may take a small bite out of performance.
We spoke to BMW USA about the rumor and were told that it has no comment at this time. After the M4 Convertible, Evo claims that BMW is working on a M4 Gran Coupe. How that would be all that different from an M3, isn't exactly clear.
