Ok, so it's time to let this one go so I can get my new one. I am the second owner of this beautiful fast red machine and have taken EXCELLENT care of it. It is garaged every night, washed very frequently, all maintenance is 100% complete and of course oil changed on scheduled times with full synthetics from day 1. (Oil just changed today so you don't even have to worry about that) This car is all wheel drive and is 100% a southern car so no rust.

This vehicle comes with a fully transferrable 24month/24,000 mile warranty that I purchased when I bought the car from the original owner. The warranty is through Assurant (USAA trusted company) and is a very awesome/reliable company. During my ownership of the vehicle, I had the best BMW mechanic around (Rhine West) go over it with a fine tooth comb and fix all pending/ current issues so now this machine is 100% ready for the next owner. I also upgraded the brakes to cross drilled brakes with ceramic pads and also just put a brand new set of tires on the vehicle now you have a full warranty on those too.

One look and drive of this you will see what I am talking about, YOU will fall in love like I did. This vehicle is very safe for the family and has a set for when you need to get on it, I average 20mpg so decent on gas for a V-8.

It was top of the line in 2005 with a MSRP of over $70,000 and yes I still have the window sticker. KBB has the value of the vehicle at a little over $20,300 and that does not include the warranty, BMW sun screen or the BMW roof rails I have installed. So really i'm throwing those in at no charge to you.
Options: Multi disc CD, Panoramic roof, assisted park, cold weather package, Factory tow hitch (I just bought haven't installed yet but you can't buy them any more so they go for a ton of money), BMW roof rails, creme leather heated seats.

I know you will have questions and I will answer them all because I know I forgot stuff. Vehicle just turned over 80,500 miles so it is low miles also. All this being said, I am NOT in a rush to sell it and I will not budge much on the price at all so don't try and low ball me you will not get a response. Also no joy rides this is my baby only serious buyers will be entertained. Call me for more pictures or information. 812-453-6126

REVISED: In accident report it notes there was a rear end collision that resulted in a air bag deployment. This accident was a minor accident and no air bags were deployed it was the seat belt pre-tensioners that are a part of the air bag system. I have all paperwork on the repairs to show what was replaced. Yes, it had to get towed because these vehicles are equipped with a fuseable link for the battery that in an accident the link will disconnect making the vehicle immobile to help prevent a fire. Once again I have the paperwork to show the repairs. All work comes with a lifetime warranty for defects and was done at a highly sought after collision repair facility. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have I want to assure you you are buying a very safe and sound vehicle.

Here is a blurb that will help explain the added safety features in this vehicle in relation to any crash. :

Passive safety.

An integrated package of intelligent safety measures ensures that if an accident cannot be avoided, the threat of injury will be kept to a minimum.

The occupant cell of your BMW is extremely rigid, with bodyshell components made of multi-phase steel and special reinforcements in the floorpan and doors maintaining a protective frame around the cabin in the event of an accident. At the same time, other elements of the vehicle are designed to absorb the force of the impact: the reversible deformation elements in the front and rear of the vehicle, for example, are able to absorb the force of an impact at speeds up to 15 km/h, leaving the bodyshell completely undamaged.

The moment an accident situation is detected, an entire network of additional safety elements is activated, functioning in precise coordination to ensure maximum possible protection of you and your passengers. The airbags are deployed at precisely the right moment and to the right degree relative to the nature of the accident, thanks to a system of sensors within the vehicle. The seatbelt pretensioner is activated pyrotechnically, holding occupants firmly in place, while the seatbelt force limiter and integrated seatbelt buckles ensure that the belts themselves do not cause injury.

As well as minimising the risk of injury in an accident, the passive safety system assists in getting speedy help: it automatically activates the hazard light, decouples the battery, turns on the cabin lights and unlocks all the doors. In models that include the BMW Professional navigation system, Bluetooth and ConnectedDrive Services, the system also automatically makes an emergency call, transmitting data on the location of the vehicle.

Once again since the vehicle was rear ended at a slow speed by the other vehicle the safety systems airbag sensors did not measure so only discharged the pyrotechnic pretensioners.

Top Gear names BMW i8 Car of the Year, Corvette, Ferrari, Mercedes also win big

Fri, Dec 5 2014

The lads at Top Gear have released their listing of the finest cars of the past year, handing the ultimate honor to BMW's revolutionary i8 plug-in-hybrid supercar. "The i8 is a milestone in the annals of automotive history and a glorious statement for an exciting and positive future. The i8 delivers - and then some," the British mag wrote. The i8, though, was far from the only hybridized car to take victories. James May and Richard Hammond both highlighted hybrids as their personal cars of the year, with May saluting the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Hamster, unsurprisingly, heaping praise on the Porsche 918 Spyder. Jeremy Clarkson, meanwhile, opted to shock many by selecting not only an American car as his best of 2014, but giving the honor to of all things, a Corvette. Clarkson wasn't the only person to honor the USA's iconic sports car, with the new, 650-horsepower Z06 variant being named TG's Muscle Car of the Year. Other big winners include Mercedes-Benz, which TG honored for S-Class Coupe (Luxury Car of the Year), the new AMG GT (Sports Car of the Year) and the not-for-US C-Class Estate (Family Car of the Year). The 458 Italia Speciale A snagged a second win for Ferrari. The best of the rest include the Citroen C4 Cactus, Renault Twingo, Volkswagen Golf R, Lamborghini Huracan and Audi TT. Take a look below for the celebratory press blast from BMW. The BMW i8 wins Top Gear Car of the Year The BMW i8 has been named as Top Gear magazine's global Car of the Year 2014. The plug-in hybrid performance vehicle beat off some stiff competition from a host of other premium and luxury manufacturers to win the overall award. The editorial team of Top Gear commended the BMW i8 for its breadth of abilities. Its 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine combined with an electric motor gives searing acceleration and driver enjoyment but all wrapped in a package that takes BMW's EfficientDynamics philosophy to the extreme courtesy of CO2 emissions less than 49g/km and a 135mpg combined cycle figure. Charlie Turner, Editor in Chief at Top Gear magazine, said: "The BMW is a milestone in the annals of automotive history and a glorious statement for an exciting and positive future. The i8 delivers – and then some. It's the kind of car we should celebrate, a beautiful vision of the future, delivered now.

2015 BMW X4

Tue, 27 May 2014

BMW has been in the line-blurring business of late, with the original X5 "Sports Activity Vehicle" muddling the line between SUVs and sport sedans in 1999, the 5 Series Gran Turismo challenging what our definition of "Gran Turismo" means in 2009, and pretty, low-roofed four-doors like the 6 Series Gran Coupe and the fresh new 4 Series Gran Coupe broadening the meaning of the word "coupe."
In the midst of all of this, BMW blurred the lines around both the SUV and coupe genres with its big, heavy, and in many ways ridiculous X5-based "Sports Activity Coupe" (cue collective eye-roll), dubbed X6. Auto wags scoffed at its lack of utility, compromised outward visibility and added cost, but a more emotional public was apparently smitten enough by its aggressive looks to avail itself of some 250,000 of them worldwide in six model years on sale.
Enter the all-new 2015 X4 crossover - err, "Sports Activity Coupe" - which BMW hopes will perform as well in the compact category as the X6 has on the next rung up the ladder. Like the X6, the X4 is a tough sell on paper: it's more expensive and less practical than the X3 on which it's based; it's heavier, despite the loss of interior space; and it doesn't even hold as much stuff in the back as the 3 Series wagon. As with the X6, the X4 is essentially a high-riding style statement that, like proper coupes (the two-door kind), says to the world, "You fools can take your need for practicality and shove it. I just want to look good."

2013 Nissan GT-R and 2013 Alpina B6 mix it up on track and street

Fri, 24 May 2013

Here we have Autocar making an unforeseen comparison: the Nissan GT-R against the Alpina B6 at Brands Hatch and on public roads. Steve Sutcliffe clobbers the circuit in the 3,828-pound, all-wheel-drive sports car, then sees how well the 4,114-pound, rear-wheel drive grand tourer does against it.
Sutcliffe says there are quite a few similarities between the two cars, but that's really only on the spec sheet. The Nissan's got two turbos attached to its 3.8-liter V6, 542 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. The Alpina's got two turbos attached to its 4.4-liter V8, 532 hp and 528 lb-ft. But one's brief is to be a monster on the track, the other on the boulevard, and if there's anything the video demonstrates, it's each car's focus.
