I'm selling my gently used a low mileage 2002 X5 4.6is.  Less than 3,000 of this model were produced for the U.S. market and even fewer still exist in this condition with as few miles.
This model is equipped with an even more rare split leather and alcantara seating option.  Front and rear seats are heated and are much cooler than leather in the summertime heat.  All functions including power windows, locks, climate control, sunroof and navigation work properly.  In the last 8,000 miles I have replaced and/or repaired the following items with OEM parts from the dealership:

Front thrust arm bushings and lower ball joints
Radiator vent hose and expansion tank
Radiator and upper radiator hose
Instrument cluster ribbon cable repair for pixel error
Front left wheel bearing and hub assembly
Fuel pump and fuel filter
Engine timing cover and valve cover gaskets
Bridgestone Dueler H/L runflat tires with approx. 60% tread remaining
DINAN exhaust system
Steering angle sensor
All wiper blades

I have also installed Vogtland Sport lowering springs and rear lowering axle links for the air suspension.  The ride height has been lowered a total of 1.5" front and rear with no change in vehicle ride quality.  I will also include a set of rear springs and coil pad conversion with the vehicle in case the buyer wishes to remove the rear air suspension system.  Also available is a set of Dunlop SP Sport summer performance tires with approx. 50% tread remaining.  The vehicle has all new BMW rubber floor mats installed.  The engine oil has always been changed at 5,000 mile intervals.  I changed the rear and front differential fluids as well as the transfer case fluid at 100,000 miles.  I have receipts for all repairs that have been made.  This car needs nothing except a driver!

Rolls-Royce sketching out SUV for possible 'late 2017' release

Wed, 14 May 2014

With each new story on the Rolls-Royce SUV, the Goodwood automaker comes off as more at ease with their reluctantly birthed yet necessary sport ute. Company design chief Giles Taylor told Autocar that his team is still "sketching to assess the viability of the concept," which to ours ears means they're trying to figure out if such a beast is even possible within the confines of the brand. If it is, Taylor says it will be "a shooting brake, not a crossover with a sloping roof. A proper SUV."
A different company source, unnamed, seems confident that Taylor's team will figure it out, telling the magazine it would start at 200,000 pounds ($335K US). However, that same source said the vehicle will be "a kind of Mercedes-GLK-plus-plus," which is a baffling description in several ways. More reasonable is the speculation that it will ride on Ghost, not Phantom, architecture and make its debut sometime around late 2017.
That Ghost platform is expected to take cues from the carbon, aluminum and steel bones that supported the BMW Vision Future Luxury concept shown at the Beijing Motor Show and destined for the 9 Series. Some of those tricks will also go into the next-generation Phantom, which Autocar says will come in 2017 and not 2020.

BMW Active Tourer to hit US showrooms in 2015

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

It's been over a year since BMW unveiled the Concept Active Tourer at the Paris Motor Show, and another four months since it brought the concept back in Outdoor guise (pictured above). Now word has it that the Bavarian automaker is putting it into production.
Although production specs and dimensions have yet to be revealed, the Concept Active Tourer came in a bit smaller than the existing BMW X1. The production version is expected to be based on the same platform that underpins the new Mini hatchback revealed last week in LA, meaning that it will be predominantly front-drive, but an all-wheel-drive version could follow.
There will also be a longer version with a third row of seats, forming part of a new generation of front-drive BMWs to take on the likes of the Audi A1 and Mercedes-Benz A-Class family, of which the GLA will be the Active Tourer's most direct rival. Expect the Active Tourer to arrive in 2015 with a new front-drive sedan to follow in 2017 aimed particularly at the North American and Chinese markets.

BMW may be planning AMG Black Series competitors

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

Word has it BMW has its heart set on giving the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series a run for its money in the US. According to BimmerBoost.com, the German automaker has been making more and more noise about offering a number of specialty models aimed specifically at enthusiasts. While at the Detroit Auto Show this year, the BMW PR machine revealed 2013 will be "an interesting year" and that buyers can expect one or two products aimed specifically at swiping buyers from the clutches of the C63 AMG Black Series. The news came courtesy of Automobile writer Marc Noordeloos' Twitter machine.
Noordeloos reportedly interviewed several executives familiar with the M models while in Detroit, and says the M division would like to offer hardware like the M3 CSL, GTS or CRT to buyers here in the States. That sounds great to us, but saying something doesn't make it true, and manufacturers rarely find it in their hearts to bring money-losing machines to our green shores. Still, that won't stop us from crossing our fingers.
