I'm selling my gently used a low mileage 2002 X5 3.0L. Less than 3,000 of this model were produced for the U.S. market and even fewer still exist in this condition with as few miles, and the fact that it's a MANUAL transition SUV makes it that much more sweet!!
This model is equipped with an even more rare leather seating option. All functions including power windows, locks, climate control, DVD player, and amazing sound system work properly. In the last 8,000 miles I have replaced and/or repaired the following items with OEM parts from the dealership: Front thrust arm bushings and lower ball joints Radiator vent hose and expansion tank Radiator and upper radiator hose Instrument cluster ribbon cable repair for pixel error Front left wheel bearing and hub assembly Fuel pump and fuel filter Alternator Battery Engine timing cover and valve cover gaskets Driver Side Door Handle due to faulty mechanism Rear passenger side airbag (sensor is faulty but working so dash light for airbag is on but all airbags working) The engine oil has always been changed at 3,000 mile intervals. I changed the rear and front differential fluids as well as the transfer case fluid at 100,000 miles. This car needs nothing except a driver! The ride in the best and smoothest SUV i've ever owned.. The AC is ice cold, the interior leather is perfect, floors are clean. Great car. |

BMW gearing up for Sochi Olympics with bobsled documentary [w/video]
Fri, Jan 3 2014BMW might be a German brand, but that isn't keeping its US branch from helping out Team USA as the 22nd Winter Olympics gets set to kick off in Sochi, Russia next month. We last reported on BMW's partnership with Team USA's bobsled team in November of 2012, but with barely a month until the opening ceremony, it's about time we hear something new about the team's progress. And that's exactly what's going to happen when Driving on Ice airs this Sunday afternoon. The documentary charts the progress of the Team USA/BMW partnership to redesign the team's two-man bobsled for an event in which the USA hasn't captured gold in since 1936. And if you're concerned that this will be nothing more than a long advertisement for BMW, then you'll enjoy knowing that the program has more to do with the Team USA bobsledders than with the automaker. Even the trailer stars a number of team members and coaches, along with BMW DesignWorks USA's Michael Scully, lead designer on the program. BMW of North America, the Official Mobility Partner of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), today announced its U.S. Olympic marketing campaign for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games which includes a series of Olympic-themed advertisments, consumer and retail activations, social and digital media executions, and a national drive campaign to benefit Team USA. In addition, a documentary on BMW's complete redesign of the U.S. two-man bobsled entitled "Driving on Ice" will air this Sunday, Jan. 5 at 12:30 p.m. EST/11:30 a.m. CST on NBC. "Driving on Ice" chronicles BMW's collaboration with the USA Bobsled & Skeleton Federation (USBSF) to deliver a fleet of six new two-man bobsleds, applying the automaker's world-class design and engineering expertise to help Team USA chase its first Olympic gold medal in the event since 1936.
Toyota launches BMW-powered Verso in Europe
Tue, 03 Dec 2013BMW makes some sweet-revving engines, but its own vehicles aren't the only ones running BMW engines. So do the latest from Rolls-Royce and Mini, of course, as well as a handful of Peugeots and Citroëns thanks to its joint engine program with PSA. Wiesmann uses BMW engines, as did the famous McLaren F1. And now we can add one more to the list.
That would be the Toyota Verso, a Corolla-based minivan which Toyota builds in Turkey and sells in Europe and a few other markets overseas. The Verso is also now officially the first beneficiary of the partnership between Toyota and BMW as the Japanese automaker has released the MPV with BMW's 1.6-liter turbodiesel four.
The 111-horsepower engine is coupled to a Toyota transmission and joins the Verso range as the fourth (and least powerful) engine in the lineup, alongside the 122hp 2.0 diesel and the gasoline options with 1.6 liters and 160 hp and 1.8 for 180. Future collaborations between the two automakers will include fuel-cell development, a new joint sportscar platform, lightweight bodywork research and a new generation of lithium-air batteries. For the most part, they look almost identical to their coupe versions, except that they now boast an electrically folding soft top.
BMW is dropping the top of the 2 Series in early 2015 in the US with convertible versions of the 228i and M235i. They'll make their world debut at the Paris Motor Show later this year and will show their faces on this side of the pond at the 2014 Los Angeles International Auto Show.
