2001 Bmw X5 4.4i Sport Utility, Two Owner Florida Car on 2040-cars
New Smyrna Beach, Florida, United States
I BOUGHT THIS CAR OFF OF EBAY EIGHT YEARS AGO AS THE SECOND OWNER. THE ORIGINAL OWNER WAS IN OHIO. THIS HAS BEEN MY WIFE'S CAR FOR MOST OF THE TIME WE HAVE OWNED IT. IF ANY SMALL THING NEEDS TO BE FIXED SHE TAKES IT TO THE BMW SHOP IN DAYTONA. THE MECHANIC THERE IS VERY GOOD AND TAKES CARE OF ANYTHING THAT IS WRONG AND ANYTHING HE THINKS MAY GO WRONG. EVERYTHING IS RUNNING AS IT SHOULD. SOME LED'S IN THE RADIO ARE OUT BUT DOES NOT AFFECT OPERATION. I DID ADD THE SIX DISK CD PLAYER. THE TIRES ARE MICHELIN WITH PLENTY OF TREAD. SERVICE RECORDS WILL BE INCLUDED. THE EXTERIOR COLOR IS A LIGHT GREEN AND THE PAINT LOOKS LIKE NEW. THE INTERIOR IS THE TAN WITH WOOD ACCENTS. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND THERE IS NO RUST. THE ONLY IMPERFECTION I KNOW OF IS A SCRAPE ON THE FRONT BUMPER FROM THE SIDE OF THE GARAGE DOOR. SEE THE PHOTOS. WE TOOK THIS CAR TO THE USVI WHEN WE MOVED THERE BECAUSE IT HAS PROVEN TO BE SUCH A GOOD CAR. WE COULD NOT GIVE IT UP SO BROUGHT IT BACK WITH US TO FLORIDA. IT HAS SPENT MOST OF ITS TIME IN A GARAGE. THERE ARE ONLY THE TWO OF US SO THE INTERIOR HAS REMAINED CLEAN AND WELL TAKEN CARE OF. A VERY NICE AND NEW CAR COVER WILL BE INCLUDED. WE WOULD NOT BE SELLING THIS CAR BUT ARE MOVING OUT OF THE US AGAIN AND CANNOT POSSIBLY TAKE IT WITH US THIS TIME. |

BMW offers xDrive on 2015 2 Series
Fri, 06 Jun 2014BMW has released its mile-long list of model changes for 2015. It's mostly comprised of tiny tweaks to options packages, pricing or trim colors, but there are a few interesting new features in there too. One thing all buyers will notice is that as of July 1, the company's destination charge increases by $25, to $950 for all of its models.
The 2 Series gets two really useful upgrades for 2015. We already knew that BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system would be offered on the M235i this summer. However, it won't be the only 2 capable of spinning all four wheels. The 228i model will also be available with the system for $34,850 (after destination), $1,800 more than the standard model.
The other big addition brings a sportier ride to the 228i (with or without xDrive) for those who don't want to spring for the M235i. BMW is adding a Track Handling Package (pictured above) that lowers the suspension 10mm and includes the Adaptive M Suspension, Variable Sport Steering, M Sport Brakes and 18-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. It's available on manual or automatic models at $1,600 for cars ordered with the M Sport or Sport Line trims or $2,200 without it.
Audi, BMW, Daimler buy Nokia's Here digital mapping business
Tue, Aug 4 2015The fight for control of Nokia's Here digital mapping service appears to have drawn to a close as a consortium of German automakers has announced a deal to jointly acquire the business from the Finnish telecom giant. As anticipated, ownership in Here will now be taken over jointly by Audi, BMW, and Daimler, beating out reported rivals bids from the likes of Apple and Uber. Here is one of the largest and most advanced digital mapping and location systems. It started out in Chicago in 1986 as Navteq before Nokia acquired it in 2007, and is now slated to change ownership again. The cloud-based service maintains high-definition digital maps for nearly 200 countries and supports over 50 languages, gathering data from users to update the data continuously. Rather than transition the service into their own proprietary technology, however, the automakers insist that it will remain open "to all customers from the automotive industry and other sectors." Ownership will be shared equally between the three companies, with "none of them seek[ing] to acquire a majority interest" in Here. For another, Here's management is promised to remain independent, and "the consortium will not interfere into operational business." Though the purchase price has not been disclosed, it is rumored to be worth in the neighborhood of $2.7 billion. Assuming it passes regulatory approval, the acquisition is slated to be completed in the first quarter of next year. The German automakers anticipate implementing the service to provide connected vehicles with accurate, up-to-date information on road and other conditions. Examples it outlines include warning other drivers of icy conditions based on outside temperature and ABS activation. It could also warn drivers of impending traffic jams, or even guide traffic through green lights in an urban environment. In the future, the highly detailed maps are envisioned to enable fully automated driving as well. Police smash sinking BMW window with rock to save woman trapped inside
Thu, Feb 19 2015Two quick-thinking police officers in New Zealand saved a woman's life after her BMW somehow ended up in the the ocean on Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses told Stuff.co.nz the woman drove off of a rock wall surrounding a parking lot at Waitemata Harbour in Auckland, New Zealand, and into the ocean. Her BMW immediately began filling with sea water. Bystanders called police and made their own attempts to save the woman. Officers Paul Watts and Simon Russell also tried to open her car doors and smash the windows with a baton. Their failed efforts wasted precious time. The woman soon had to crawl toward the back window, the last part of her car not completely submerged in water. Officer Watts smashed the window with a rock and they were finally able to pull her to safety. Watts told The New Zealand Herald the woman was moments away from drowning. Seconds after extracting her the car sank completely into the ocean. "It was pretty close, probably 30 or 40 seconds after we managed to get the female out of the car, the car was already slipping further into the water," Watts told the Herald. Police are still investigating what caused the accident. The woman was in shock and suffered cuts and bruises. She is in stable condition at a local hospital.
