HELLO, I HAVE FOR SALE MY 2006 E60 M5 WITH 64K ON THE CHASSIS & 11K ON THE BRAND NEW ENGINE INSTALLED BY THE DEALER. STILL HAS WARRANTY ON THE ENGINE. I BOUGHT THE CAR 2 YEARS AGO WITH LIGHT DAMAGE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CAR WAS SCRAPED AGAINST A WALL. IT WAS FULLY DRIVABLE. I HAD THE FOLLOWING PARTS REPLACED. FENDER, BOOTH DOORS, BOTH BUMPERS & REAR QUARTER PANEL REPLACED ALL OE PARTS. EVERYTHING WAS DONE AT A PROFESSIONAL CERTIFIED BODY SHOP. THE CAR HAD 51K ON IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT. A YEAR LATTER WITH 54K I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE. DEALER REPLACED THE ENGINE UNDER WARRANTY I HAD PURCHASED. THE BILL WAS $32K FOR THE ENGINE. DURING THE ENGINE SWAP DEALER CHECKED THE CLUTCH TO REPLACE IT & THEY TOLD ME CLUTCH LOOKS LIKE IT WAS ALREADY REPLACED. CAR IS IN MINT CONDITION NOW & HAS BEEN BABIED SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. Alpina Edition 50 models boast 204-mph top speed, company's most-powerful V8 ever

It currently only builds around 1,700 cars a year, but you're not going to find any massive rear wings or garish paint from the company. Instead, the business has been perfecting how to make BMWs better for the last 50 years and has decided to celebrate with its most powerful road model yet. For the Edition 50 models, Alpina is crafting 50 sedans or wagons and 50 coupes for European buyers based around its B5 Bi-Turbo and the B6 Bi-Turbo, respectively. The real birthday present is the upgraded, twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 under the hood. It makes 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, a bump of 59 hp and 52 lb-ft from the regular versions. The extra grunt comes thanks to additions like an optimized intake, water-cooled intercoolers near the turbos, lightweight pistons and a titanium exhaust. Alpina claims that these celebratory vehicles can get to 62 miles per hour in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 204 miles per hour. Beyond just the major improvement in power, these special vehicles wear Alpina's more aggressive, though still understated body kit. They also ride on an updated version of the company's famous wheels that feature added side cuts on the multiple spokes to reduce weight. These exclusive cars are only available in Alpina's own shades of green and blue, plus a special color called Edition 50 Sepia from BMW Individual. There are also special logos on the seatbacks and center console to further promote the models' limited nature. Celebrating the brand's birthday in one of these high-speed vehicles retails for 86,850 pounds ($130,000) for buyers in the UK. 2014 BMW 2 Series earns IIHS Top Safety Pick+ [w/video]
Thu, 26 Jun 2014The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has just certified its latest Top Safety Pick+, honoring the all-new BMW 2 Series with the coveted rating.
IIHS cited the 2 Series' crash test ratings, which were rated as "Good" in the small overlap, moderate overlap, side and rollover. In the tricky small overlap test, the crash test dummy was at a "low risk of any significant injury."
The Institute was also complimentary of the 2 Series' head restraint system and its collision prevention system, including forward collision warning and City Braking.

Tue, 20 May 2014BMW's all-new M3 Sedan is dynamically nearly identical to its two-door M4 Coupe sibling: a stopwatch reveals that both are sub-four-second cars to 60 miles per hour, a racetrack proves that the mechanical twins are equally as adept on a road course and a full afternoon of driving on public roads demonstrates that each possesses talented everyday adaptability.
Yet after driving both BMW models back-to-back over two full days in Portugal, it's clear there are a few noticeable differences, both objective and subjective, that don't require instrument testing to reveal. All it takes is a few hours behind the wheel of both cars to conclude that one is slightly more agile, and the other a bit more twitchy. One has better outward visibility, while its counterpart is unquestionably more convenient.
It is the little things - subtleties attained through seat-of-the-pants observations - that eventually allow me to choose a favorite.
