2000 Bmw M5 Base Sedan 4-door 5.0l *no Reserve* on 2040-cars
United States
I am currently the 4th owner, 2000 BMW M5, silver with black
interior. 196,000 original highway miles, e39 enthusiast mature owned. Options
included factory Navigator system, premium sound, black leather interior, auto
sun shade, parking sensor, xenon, spoiler, angel eyes, tints, rims, diffuser
and exhaust... Car drives very strong. The exterior and interior condition
shows its age for a 13 year old car. There are scratches on the front bumper
and interior but nothing too extreme. Recent services included new sparkplug,
fluids, and filters. The car has clean title and needs a new home for someone
who is willing to take care of it. The current issues with the car are that it
requires a new O2 Sensor (Which I have for Bank 2 of the CAT). I have already
replaced the car with new CATs but was still throwing the SES light. With the
fault O2 Sensor, the service engine light soon is on. Currently, I do not have
the effort or time to get this fixed. I have a new born on the way and need to
make space in my garage for a larger car. Car drives really nice and fast,
please do not be afraid of the miles. I think this would be a nice project for
anyone who is looking to build an E39 M5. Listing with NO RESERVE, please do
not hesitate on asking questions before placing a bid. I’m open to take offers
but will sell whatever the auction price ends at. Car will be sold as is and
will come with all manuals and both original keys. I have a clean carfax
available for anyone that is interested. |

BMW Concept 90 Motorcycle debuts at Villa d'Este
Fri, 24 May 2013The Concept 90 is one of two new vehicles BMW is showing off at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on the tony shores of Lake Como in Italy. This year is the 90th anniversary of BMW Motorrad and the 40th anniversary of the R 90 S (inset) - the first production motorcycle to come with a front fairing - and BMW has worked with custom bike builder Roland Sands Design to craft a homage to the Daytona Orange boxer from the Seventies.
While following the line of its forbearer, obviously the Concept 90 has been sexed and sleeked up. The bodywork is of hand-worked aluminum, the giant halogen lamp of the 1975 model (which is when Daytona Orange was introduced) has gone LED, and the front engine cover, valve covers, exhaust and wheels have been made with a contrast-cut milling process.
For a finer description of the Concept 90 check out the press release below, or skip the words and go straight to the high-res images above.
History of BMW touring cars looks splendid in Adrenalin trailer
Wed, 15 Oct 2014More high-quality documentaries about the history of motorsports are always welcome. When thinking about racing, we generally focus on moving forward to go a little faster or shave a tenth of a second off a lap. There's not much time to look backward. It's too bad, because there are so many fantastic stories from the sport's history. Thankfully, an upcoming doc is taking on the challenge of telling some of these tales, and it looks like a movie not to miss, especially for BMW fans.
Adrenalin - The BMW Touring Car Story mixes high-quality, vintage footage with new interviews from many of the drivers of these machines to craft what looks like a fantastic experience. Covering the period from the '60s to the modern DTM era, just the trailer shows racing from the 2002, 3.0 CSL and of course the E30 chassis M3 of the '80s. You also get to hear from legends behind the wheel like Hans-Joachim Stuck, Johnny Cecotto and Joachim Winkelhock telling their stories.
Adrenalin comes out in November on DVD, Blu-Ray and on-demand. Check out its trailer above for a taste at what it's aiming for. The documentary definitely looks like one to watch.
2015 BMW 2 Series Cabriolet flips its lid [w/video]
Thu, 02 Oct 2014Early next year, BMW will offer droptop versions of its entry-level 2 Series. Available in both 228i and M235i guise, the 2 Series Cabriolet will no doubt take everything we already like (and don't like) about the Twoer and add that wind-in-your-hair experience. Of course, taking in all the extra sun comes at a price - $37,900 for the 228i and $47,700 for the M235i, not including $950 for destination. Those prices represent increases of $5,800 and $4,600, respectively.
Powertrain specs are identical to the coupes, with the 228i powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four good for 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. The more potent M235i gets BMW's turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six, with 320 hp and 330 lb-ft of push, and can hit 60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds. That's with the eight-speed automatic transmission, which is available with either engine. And for those who prefer to row their own, BMW will thankfully offer a six-speed manual gearbox with both powerplants, as well.
Following the Paris Motor Show unveiling, the pair will be shown in the US at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November before hitting dealers a few months later. Have a look at the new droptop in our fresh batch of images live from the Porte de Versailles exhibition center, and read BMW's lengthy press blast, below, for all of the official information.
