This BMW has been very well cared for, there was not a dollar spared ever on this vehicle. It has been very good to me for several years. It has been garaged most of his life until the 8 months or so. All of the services are up to date and this is truly a turn key vehicle. The paint is all original and shows very well for the age of the car with only very minor highway chips and surface scratches. The tires are like new and are free of any plugs or patches. I have driven this car very little the past 5 years, it has turned into a garage ornament between work and family. The exterior is very glossy with the original paint showing plenty of luster while the interior is also very clean and free of any cracks, burns, rips or tears. There has never been any pets or smoking in this vehicle, very few trips with the kiddies as well. Everything works as it should, air conditioner blows ice cold, all windows, door locks, sunroof and electronics work properly. The engine runs like a sewing machine and doesnt have any hesitations or spuddering. There are no leaks or drips. The motor compartment is very clean and neat. It starts right up and drives and drives straight as an arrow just as it did the day I bought it. Clutch is original and very tight, the gears shift flawlessly with not grinds or pop outs. I have always used BMW oils and fluids when doing maintenance, and of course alwyas 93 octane fuel. All of the plastic weatherstrip moldings have been replaced by BMW so you wont have to worry about the normal BMW weatherstripping that gets all cracked up. The brakes and rotors have less than 5k miles on them and are in great shape. the car truly needs nothing. If your looking for a STELLAR deal on a great car that turns heads and is super quick, then this is the one. I have looked at all E46 M3's from all over and this is the BEST bang for the buck! I have set my reserve price EXTREMELY low for a quick sale, someone will get a great deal on an awesome car. If you have any more questions or would like any specific close up pictures, please dont hesitate to email me at any time. I should email you back within an hour or two. I can pick you up at the airport or can help arrange shipping. Happy Bidding!

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
BMW broadens engine bolt recall to nearly half-million cars worldwide
Fri, 11 Apr 2014Almost one month ago, we reported on a BMW investigation into a potentially defective bolt that lived in the company's VANOS variable valve timing system. At that point, the potential recall was seemingly limited to Chinese-market cars; the company was filing a recall application with Chinese officials.
Today, Bloomberg is reporting that the engine bolt issue has expanded into a recall for several world markets, involving some 489,000 vehicles. BMW was able to verify that report to Autoblog, while also providing a great deal more detail about the issue and vehicles affected.
The recall affects vehicles powered by N55 inline six-cylinder gasoline engines equipped with VANOS and Valvetronic technologies. 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series and 5 Series Gran Turismo, X3, X5, X6 and Z4 models from the 2010 to 2012 model years are included, as is the 2012 6 Series.
Check out 90 years of BMW Motorrad in 90 seconds
Tue, 12 Mar 2013After ninety years in business and first-to-market motorcycle innovations like the one-piece 'tunnel' crankcase, hydraulically dampened front forks and full fairings, as well as that trademark boxer engine, BMW Motorrad is celebrating its nonagenarian status with a video: You can follow the ride on BMW motorcycles from 1923 to now in just 90 seconds.
Okay, so there's more than a video - some anniversary-themed bikes and a new retro boxer model celebrating the R 32 "airhead' from 1923 also commemorate the occasion. But you can start with the video, and that's below.
