97 Bmw E36 M3 Rebuildable No Reserve on 2040-cars
Lebanon, Pennsylvania, United States
1997 BMW M3 Automatic Sedan The car was in very good condition before the accident. Everything worked and maintenance was always kept up on. Interior is in very good condition. This was one of the nicer M3's out there, it was not beat. Which is why I believe it should be brought back to life. I just don't have the time to do it. I need it out of the way. So you get a deal. I valued the car at $7000 pre accident. So if you feel you can fix it for under that, you will be making out. The car hit a wall at under 30mpg, I don't know the speed, I was not driving. Most of the impact occurred on the passenger side. That is where you will have to have the strut tower area straightened out. You will also need a new passenger front quarter panel. Passenger door needs edge straighten or replaced. Windshield needs to be replaced. Dash and steering wheel need to be replaced. Needs new hood. Everything from the front of the engine forward needs to be replaced. Driver qtr panel is salvageable or you can replace. Engine starts and runs. There is no coolant left in it, so I never kept it running. Just enough to pull it out of the garage for pictures. It doesn't look like there is any damage to any major mechanicals. Mainly the radiators, fans, and stuff up front. The engine was not pushed on hard. The expansion tank is pushed up to it, but the plastic tank would have broken if it was really pushed against the engine. The engine fan is hitting stuff, so it does make noise when running. I quick started to look at prices and I think if you do the work yourself you can make out here. Most all of the parts are standard E36 parts and there are a lot of them out there. You can get the steering wheel for $50. The dash for $100. The windshield installed for $200. The car has some UPGRADES!!!!! It has a DINAN performance chip! It is cali-legal too. It has a K&N cold air intake. It is the VANOS rattle fix. It was always well maintained. Mobile 1 every 3000 miles. I had a dealer replace the trans fluid when I bought it $500 job. Various suspension components have been replaced. Front brakes are new, slotted and cross drilled. Front wheel bearings are fairly new. New air pump control value and air pump. This is your opportunity to get into a nice M3 on the cheap. Or your opportunity to make some money. I don't want offers. I don't want questions. I don't want to show the car. I just don't have the time. If I had time, I would fix it up myself. Just bid and when you come to pick it up, if you aren't happy, we can cancel the auction. Auction is no reserve, so you will get the car. Clean title in hand. |

BMW 4 Series production coupe caught on commercial shoot
Fri, 22 Mar 2013Despite filming at 2:00 AM and at an undisclosed location, BMW minders filming a commercial for the fast-approaching 4 Series coupe were unable to ward off the long lenses of spy photographers. The result, as you can see here, is our first-ever look at the production version of BMW's new coupe, completely uncovered.
The night shots may be a little bit grainy, but the fast-moving 4 Series still looks pretty good with its camo closeted, matching the svelte lines of the concept car we saw in Detroit this winter. Expect that the 4 coupe will come to market with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder in 428i trim, and a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder in 435i spec.
Take your time looking through our gallery of movie-star 4 Series photographs, and tell us what you think about the uncovered Bimmer, in comments.
Carmakers, NHTSA to unveil auto-emergency braking agreement tomorrow
Wed, Mar 16 2016Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve. Tomorrow, there will be green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and automatic emergency braking for all. Weird combo, we know. But on St. Patty's we can expect an official announcement from a pact of automakers making auto-braking systems standard equipment by 2022. That's per a report from Reuters, which cites three sources familiar with the plans. Originally announced in September 2015 by 10 automakers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the agreement is expected to be even larger when the details are unveiled tomorrow. According to Reuters, the manufacturers of 99 percent of the US domestic market's vehicles will be represented by the new agreement. It's believed that standard AEB systems could prevent thousands of accidents across the country. Expect more on the official announcement when it's made. Related Video:
2023 CES Editors' Picks
Mon, Jan 9 2023Over the past few years, it has become more and more clear that the Consumer Electronics Show is a car show. And this year that reality is more clear than ever. Not only did established automakers show off seriously important vehicles, but a traditional electronics company brought a car that gives an idea of its intents (with the help of establishment car company). With so many car reveals, we had to rank our favorites. Our picks for this show are entirely electric. Or at least, they are on paper, since many are concepts. Considering the name of the show, it would be a little strange if they weren't. In fact, not only are many of our favorites concepts, they all are save for one. See how they shook out below. VW ID7 camo View 28 Photos 5. Volkswagen ID.7 "The ID.7 definitely got lost in the crowd at CES. That it was camouflaged definitely didn't help, even if that camo was electroluminescent (BMW trumped it big time with its color-changing Dee). Nevertheless, this is a close-to-production hatchback-ed sedan, not unlike today's Arteon, with an extra-long wheelbase courtesy its EV architecture. It should be a solid answer to the Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Ioniq 6, and even if people obviously prefer SUVs now, VW says there is still a market for sedans. I know I'd probably prefer one." –Senior Editor, West Coast and Reviews, James Riswick Peugeot Inception concept View 12 Photos 4. Peugeot Inception "It's not often that show debuts surprise us. While Peugeot teased the Inception ahead of CES, its unveiling seemed almost incidental. But just look at this thing; it's like an electric French Mustang with someplace important to be. I don't buy into the stupid 'It's not a wheel!' thing that Peugeot CEO Linda Jackson described as providing a video-game-like drive experience, but that bit of silliness aside, this is a really promising design study. Give us more of these and fewer tall boxes, please." –Associate Editor Byron Hurd Afeela prototype from Sony Honda Mobility View 11 Photos 3. Afeela by Sony Honda “Ever since Sony showed off an impressively put-together concept car at CES a few years ago, IÂ’ve been anticipating the companyÂ’s next move. Apparently, that next move is “Afeela.” No, I donÂ’t love the name. The specs from SonyÂ’s original concept car give me hope that this prototype sportback (itÂ’s a hatchback!) will be fun to drive, though.
