2006 BMW M6 Convertible in MINT condition
You are looking at a very clean, very well kept 2006 BMW M6 Convertible. This vehicle has had only 2 owners, has 36,000 original miles on it. It has been garage kept since it was brand new. NEVER seen snow, and for the last 3 years i have owned it, it has not seen rain, only water it has seen was to be washed. I take very good care of this car, and keep it in the garage only. It runs great!
Car has black metallic exterior paint, in EXCELLENT condition, no dents no dings no scratches. In the warm weather months its waxed if not every week, then every other week. The hood has a partial clear bra on it to protect it from rock chips. The only paint work ever done on this car was the hood(which i painted myself in my own auto body shop) and the front bumper, both ONLY because of some rock chips. When I purchased the vehicle it had a few small rock chips on the hood, they bothered me so i fixed them, same with the front bumper. All the other paint on this vehicle is 100% factory paint and in excellent condition.
The interior is red in color, and is in perfect condition as you can see by the photos. No abuse of all, and very little signs of wear at all, if any at all.
I replaced the rear tires about a year ago, so they might have about 2,000 miles on them, maybe that much. Oil changes have always been current and taken care of by a private mechanic that I have known for 20 years, i would only let him touch this car. Has a new battery about 8 months ago. Brakes are in very good condition as is everything else mechanically.
I do have a few extra's in the car:
Tinted front and rear glass (35%, its not very dark just enough to darken the windows down some)
Clear Bra on front of Hood
Carbon Fiber front and rear BMW emblems
Added a few flat metal M6 emblems in the interior(see photos)
Agency power DUEL mode exhaust system. This was the best investment, and it wasent cheap. There is a flapper valve that is vacum operated to open and close either on demand or can be set to open and close based on what RPM you set the computer at, its a really great system. If your not in the mood, you shut it off and it sounds like a stock M6, you want a little more of a race sound you turn it on and you got it. It's really a very nice upgrade and well worth the money. ($4800) parts only)
I changed all the bulds to white LED lights on the interior and exterior of the vehicle, turn signals, park lamps front and rear. You will see in the photo that I added an LED strip to the inside of the upper turn signal lamp. I purchased new upper lamps, heated and took them apart, then molded the LED lights to fit, they work with the day time running lights, was a lot of work, and was not cheap but again well worth it. I have never had more people stop and ask me where I got the lights from or how much they cost, they really look amazing, espically at night.
The car runs and drives and looks great, I have no other reason to want to sell it other then its just time to upgrade. The car is 100% what i have stated, its really a great vehicle it has not been abused in any way.
If you have any questions at all about the car please feel free to ask. Im not looking to get rick on the sale of this car, just looking for a fair price given what the vehicle is worth, the condition of mine vs others i have seen, and the upgrades that I have. Its located at my home, so if anyone would like to see the vehicle it would have to be by appointment so i can drive it into work the day that it is shown.
Serious bidders only!
I reserve the right to end this auction if the vehicle is sold outside of ebay before the auction ends!
GOOD LUCK! ! !

2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe
Wed, 08 May 2013Is This A Great Idea For An M Model?
The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is already an issue of large debate. The essential business case for the car is that it's more distinctive than a straight 5 or 6 Series, and has much of the sense of space and luxury of a 7 Series. It has the wheelbase of a 5 Series, the relative width of a 6 Series, and an exterior length close to the standard wheelbase 7 Series. And, as we reported in our drive of the 640i Gran Coupe in May 2012, the 6 Series Gran Coupe costs pretty much the same as the 7 Series, engine trim for engine trim. The sedan (coupe?) is therefore a proposal clearly meant for an extremely particular clientele. There's no news yet on how well exactly the 6 Series Gran Coupe is selling in its chief markets, but we are curious. The Germans frequently tend not to break out their sales figures that way, mixing sales of the Gran Coupe in with the two-door 6 Series.
And, so, we have now arrived at the inevitable point where the M version must be introduced. Say howdy to the $113,000 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe (actually $115,195 for starters with all of the taxes added). That's $4,650 more than the also highly priced M6 coupe. Let the vehement debates begin. The upcoming 2014 Audi RS7 should be priced right at this level as well, and the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG (perhaps with an S iteration in the next allotment we get Stateside) should go for roughly the same.
Evo pits BMW M3 against Porsche Macan in drag battle
Sun, 24 Aug 2014If you want to move five passengers in very rapid fashion and you've got a $75,000 budget, two newly introduced four-door models immediately come to mind - both are the highest performing vehicles in their respective segments. But which is faster off the line, to the 60-mile-per-hour benchmark or flat-out over an even longer run? Evo took both to paved aircraft runway to find out.
In lane one we've got the all-new Porsche Macan Turbo, which boasts a twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter V6 rated at 400 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The Porsche is fitted with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, and the 4,244-pound crossover has the traction advantage of standard all-wheel drive. In lane two is the all-new BMW M3, powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six rated at 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. It is also equipped with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, but only the rear wheels of the 3,595-pound sedan are driven. Both the BMW and Porsche arrive with launch control, which helps to remove driver error off the line.
Which automaker's launch control system is better off the line? Does all-wheel-drive grip give the crossover the advantage it needs to overcome its adversary's power-to-weight advantage? Will aerodynamics factor into the results? Which would you put in your garage, and why? The video may surprise you.
Someone's willing to pay $16,000 for a hollow, non-working BMW i8
Tue, Aug 26 2014There is an unusual BMW i8 for sale on eBay right now. Unlike your average – and by that we mean "working" – i8, this one pretty much just sits there, looking pretty. See, the i8 in question is just a promotional body shell. It's fullsize and being sold (we think) by a legit BMW dealer (Laurel BMW of Westmont), so it's got strong ties to the real thing, but there's nothing inside. In fact, you can't open the doors or windows and the wheels don't move, unless you count the tiny rolling castors that are a part of the prop. There is no fancy plug-in hybrid powertrain – no powertrain of any sort, in fact – and it was "professionally crafted just for BMW dealers." The headlights do turn on, though, so that's something. What's most impressive, though, is that there are 50 bids for this non-working BMW. In fact, the bidding has climbed up to $16,000. For a car that can't fulfill its mission as a car, that's pretty impressive. Oh, and those bids have not yet hit the reserve price, so the dealer is obviously hoping it can get more money for this hollow BMW. The official base MSRP for a working i8 is $135,700. The first i8 delivered in the US, a special edition for Pebble Beach, just sold for $825,000.
