To all that saw this car listed previously, my apologies for the delay and I appreciate your patience. This is my 2002 BMW M Roadster with only 18,900 miles. The car is Laguna Seca Blue with a black and grey leather interior. Add-ons / extras include stainless roll bars (originals boxed and included in sale), Dinan front strut bar, NIB floor mats (originals still in car), NIB rear window (original is fine, but the plastic windows do age. You're ahead of the curve with this car), illuminated chrome shift knob (original boxed and included in sale), Dinan Diff. support reinforcement kit (not installed), and Four new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires mounted on freshly refinished wheels (they look awesome!), Hamann pedals (not installed), custom oil cap, and NIB OE BMW car cover. Books, tools, spare, pump, two wind blockers (one OEM & one Plexiglas), and original Monroney / window sticker included. I am the second owner. The car was originally owned in Colorado and female driven. Car has always been garaged until recently and has never been driven in the rain; at least not by me and that is what I was told when I purchased the car. Due to my house being remodeled and the subsequent lose of my garage space, the car is now temporarily outside. However, it is double covered (water-proof & breathable Tyvek cover) and padded. Car looks beautiful! In my opinion, the stainless roll bars look awesome and give the car a much sportier and true roadster look compared to stock. However, you will get the originals and swapping them is a very easy task. The Dinan Differential support kit was not installed on the recommendation of my local Dinan dealer based on how I drive the car. If you live in the Mountains or plan to drive it hard, have it installed. The car has been driven less than 1500 miles during the last 2-1/2 years. This is a very clean car. Notice the factory paint marks and cosmoline in the pictures (light brown/dull/dirty looking stuff). That said, I want to be as honest as possible and the car is not perfect. Being a car with a low nose that spent most of its life in Colorado, it does have some rock chips on the nose. There are two small scratches by each front "fender" (I will add pictures). Of more concern would be the passenger side skirt that was scratched in storage (I will add picture). I took the car to a BMW certified body shop that has a very good reputation here in Atlanta and they will repair it for $300. They can also repair the chips and scratches, but advised me not to do so. I also recently found out that the front spoiler has been painted. The color is a perfect match and was not noticed when I had the car inspected. At this time, I am not planning to have the side skirt repaired. Individuals get picky about this sort of work and I'm going to let the new owner do what they want done. I have priced the car accordingly. I will give the buyer the printed estimates. The side bolster on the left of the drivers seat has normal wear. The rest of the seats look new. This everything I can think of that a potential buyer should know of which I am aware, but feel free to ask any questions. The car is a great fun, fast, and appreciating ride. With only around 1600 LHD units produced, I believe these M cars are true modern collectables and the numbers back me up. Values have been increasing over the past few years. I can't remember the exact production numbers, but the number of these cars produced in this color combination was in the teens. At least one of those is believed to have been totaled. There was an easy way to look this up online, but I can't find the site. The Roadster will be for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this listing at any time. Forza Horizon 3 adds Ford Police Interceptor, Jeep CJ5
Tue, Oct 4 2016We're only a few weeks past the debut of Forza Horizon 3, and already the folks at Turn 10 are introducing the first of six car packs for the open-world driving game. Focused heavily on performance, there are still a few, um, oddballs, including one we're sure Forza's livery customizers will have a blast with. The Smoking Tire Car Pack brings seven new vehicles to FH3, with the Aston Martin Vulcan, Pagani Huayra BC, GTA Spano, Lotus 340R, and BMW M2 repping traditional performance vehicles. As per usual, FH3 renders each car beautifully and promises a solid approximation of real-world performance – even if you do ditch the roads and opt to rampage through the Australian countryside. While performance is good, the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor and the Jeep CJ5 Renegade bring an off-beat vibe to this particular pack. We aren't certain, but this might be the first time the Police Interceptor appears in a blockbuster driving game. While we expect plenty of police car liveries for the Crown Vic, Forza's rabid community of tuners and customizers are sure to do much more with it. As for the CJ5, is there a better vehicle for tooling about Australia? Yeah, we didn't think so. BMW 2 Series gets 3-cylinder Mini engine
Fri, Dec 12 2014BMW just keeps lopping off cylinders from its engines and sliding the ever-more-diminutive mills into its models. This spring, Europeans will get some of the automaker's smallest yet thanks to a new entry-level 2 Series that will share a powerplant with the Mini Cooper. The Bavarian company will also introduce a few other tweaks to the compact coupe across the pond. The 218i is the new 2 Series base model, and it shares its 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with the latest family of Minis. The engine makes the same 134 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, but BMW does have some tiny changes for it. First, the orientation is swapped to fit lengthwise under the hood and drive the rear wheels. Just as importantly, buyers can order it with an eight-speed automatic, rather than the six-speed in the Minis. BMW claims that the little engine gives the 218i a 50:50 weight distribution, and it takes around 8.8 seconds to reach 62 miles per hour with the standard six-speed manual – tack on another tenth for the automatic. Either way, top speed is still a perfectly respectable 132 mph. Those acceleration numbers, incidentally, are over a second slower than what the latest Cooper is quoted at. Beyond this new base model, BMW will bring a few other additions to the 2 Series for Europe. The 220d oil burner will be available with xDrive all-wheel drive, and the company will introduce several new equipment bundles called Advantage, Luxury Line, Sport Line and M Sport. Each will bundle various options and trims together to appeal to buyers. No word yet on whether the 218i will eventually make it to North America, but we aren't holding our breath. BMW hires Ferrari chief engineer Fedeli
Wed, 08 Oct 2014There's going to be a little bit more Prancing Horse in some future BMWs because the Bavarian brand is hiring Ferrari chief engineer Roberto Fedeli to join the company in November. Fedeli's new position is still somewhat of a mystery though, and he reportedly might be lending his talents to the high performance M division or possibly even Rolls-Royce. When asked by Automotive News Europe, BMW said that it "currently can't say what his role will be."
Regardless of his new job, Fedeli was a big get for BMW because of his strong résumé. He has been with Ferrari since 1988 and led the engineering for the famous Italian automaker's vehicles since 2007. Fedeli tendered his resignation in September at around the same time that chairman Luca di Montezemolo announced his decision to leave the company. However, Ferrari told ANE that there was no connection between the two events.
