2008 - Bmw 5-series on 2040-cars
Griffin, Georgia, United States
2008 550i m-sport BMW with a hard to find true 6-speed manual transmission and every single possible option that was offered at the time of purchase except for heads up display. 70,100 original msrp plus over 12,000 in well thought out and very tasteful upgrades and modifications. Sealed forced induction ram air intake system, Eibach racing suspension, and tuned Borla exhaust system to name a few... A comfortable and gentle ride under normal driving but the 4.8 liter V8 becomes a snarling beast when awakened by the ultra responsive throttle pedal. This M-sport 550i has always been meticulously maintained and well cared for. It is 100% mechanically sound, healthy, and will provide many more years of problem free driving if the proper maintainance procedures are continued. The interior is in perfect condition, with beautiful wood and carbon fiber accents. The top of the line leather seats show no wear and have been regularly conditioned to stay supple and crack free and the black paint shines brilliantly as a 70k car should. It's an absolute jewel and the nicest E60 bodystyle BMW that I have seen.

BMW dishes on 'lightweight' 2014 M4
Mon, 15 Jul 2013BMW's M cars are not what we'd call featherweights. Sure, the big, bruising twin-turbocharged V8s deliver a lot of power, but the fact of the matter is that more weight often equates to less fun.
Which is why we're so excited over a recent sit-down the blokes at Top Gear had with BMW's product manager for small and medium cars, Matt Collins. The chat led to talk of the M3 Coupe replacing M4. Collins confirmed that, yes, the new M4 would be turbocharged. The new engine will also be a six-cylinder, which should make purists happy.
"What we'd like is more focus on lightweight engineering." -Matt Collins
BMW 2 Series caught uncovered during shoot
Thu, 16 May 2013Before we know it, the BMW 1 Series will be no more in the United States. Well, sort of. The current six-year-old coupe and convertible will be replaced by the fancy new 2 Series you see here, spotted completely uncovered during a photo shoot, with the 1 Series nomenclature being reserved for the hatchback and GT models that might not ever make it Stateside.
The roofline of the new 2 Series doesn't appear to have to changed all that much from the current 1 Series coupe, but the front and rear fascias have indeed been smoothed out. (Truth time: As much as your author adores the 1 Series, he's always found its rear end to be, well, weird.) It looks good, seen here in M235i guise, with large wheels, slimmer headlamps and large air intakes on either side of the front fascia.
The 2 Series is expected to come to the States, likely in M235i and 228i variants, though rumors suggest that we won't get a non-M 235i model. The M235i is expected to be powered by the N55 turbocharged inline-six that we currently enjoy in the 335i sedan, producing something like 320 horsepower. The 228i, unsurprisingly, should use the 2.0-liter turbo-four from the 328i, making around 240 hp. Both engines will almost certainly employ eight-speed automatic transmissions and six-speed manuals.
Weekly Recap: The divergent paths of Tesla and Fisker
Sat, 02 Aug 2014
There's no doubt that Tesla is downshifting while Fisker has been grinding its gears. But it wasn't always that way.
In the wake of Tesla's recent success, it's easy to forget that there were once two California electric carmakers with bright futures.
