This is one extremely loaded Z4. Top of the line with twin turbo, DCT, 19" M Sport Wheels, Adaptive M Suspension, Navigation w/2014 Maps, Sports Package, Cold Weather Package, Heated Seats, Comfort Access (keyless entry and start) and so much more. Still under bumper to bumper BMW factory warranty and maintenance through May 2015. This Z4 is fully optioned minus only parking sensors and bluetooth streaming audio and has an original MSRP of more than $71k. This Z4 has been dealer maintained and is fully up to date with recent inspection (last week) and oil change. Also had dealer load new 2014 maps and added the factory windscreen found on the 2013 and newer models just last month. This vehicle is 100% stock with the only aftermarket piece being the front license plate tag mounted to the vehicle tow point so no holes were required to be drilled in the front bumper cover. The vehicle has been detailed with high end Klasse cleaner/polish/sealant and the leather has just been cleaned and conditioned. Vehicle comes with original window sticker, all factory books, three key fobs, dealer service records, full independent inspection and CARFAX Report.

The car is incredible to drive. I have owned a 5 speed manual 1999 Z3 for three years that I traded on a 6 speed manual 2003 Z4 3.0i for three more years then traded that in on this newer style 2011 Z4 and I can tell you the newer models (2009+) are in a class way above the previous versions. Much faster while also much more refined. The double clutch tranny shifts via paddle shifters or manually using the stick and instantly launches you forward on each shift. The specially tuned exhaust for the 35is sounds amazing. The new body style has a ton more room in the cabin and the trunk. It is a much softer ride when in normal mode than the previous model then firmer when you put it in Sport+. The hard top makes this a car you can take on longer trips and still be very comfortable. The infotainment is really easy to use with iDrive or voice commands and the navigation, bluetooth phone, and rocking stereo all make your journey more enjoyable. Using comfort access is really convenient as you don't have to touch the key fob to lock or unlock the car or to start it. I'm pricing this vehicle below the KBB price as optioned to facilitate a quick sale. My wife and I are purchasing a home and the new residence requires extensive renovations. Bid with confidence I've been on eBay for more than a decade and have bought and sold many vehicles with 100% positive feedback. I will answer any and all questions and will assist buyer in picking up the vehicle by meeting purchaser at IAD (Dulles International Airport) or meeting vehicle transport company. The vehicle is available for in person inspection so please contact me to make an appointment.

I will be driving this vehicle daily while it is for sale so the miles listed will increase slightly. Please do not bid unless you have the means to purchase or are pre-approved for a loan to purchase. This vehicle has a lien and the title is held by Navy Federal Credit Union. I will pass the vehicle with a Bill of Sale and proof of ownership and will pay off the loan immediately to facilitate quick title delivery to the new owner.

This vehicle is being sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS. It is the buyers responsible to pick-up in person or arrange vehicle transport. Payment must be paid in full prior to vehicle departure. $1,000 non refundable deposit required to be paid via Paypal within 24 hours of auction end. The balance is to be paid by cash, wire transfer to Navy Federal Credit Union or Certified and Verified Bank Check.

BMW Z8, Lambo LM002 sell for $192,500 apiece in Detroit [w/poll]

Wed, Jul 29 2015

Think a car are a bad investment? That all depends on what kind of car you're talking about. Because while most cars depreciate in value as soon as you drive them off the lot, others can do even better than hold their value. The cars that appreciate tend to be pretty high-end exotics, but they don't have to be multi-million-dollar classics to command a premium at auction. Just look at the results from RM Sotheby's Motor City sale in Detroit this past weekend. The auction house moved a solid $7.4 million worth of metal, which is pretty impressive when you consider that – unlike events at Lake Como or Pebble Beach – not one of the lots dipped into seven figures. 1930s-era American classics performed the strongest, with Duesenbergs, Packards, Auburns and the like all fetching hundreds of thousands. But what intrigued us most were the European exotics that rounded the top ten results. Amidst the Depression-era American steel were a BMW Z8 from 2001 and a 1988 Lamborghini LM002, each of which sold for an equal $192,500. Hardly the highest figures paid for European exotics this year, but considering how much they were worth just a few years ago, they've proven solid investments. BMW only made 5,703 examples of the Henrik Fisker-designed retro Z8, of which only 2,543 were brought to the United States, where they originally sold for $128,000. The most anyone had ever paid for one at auction, according to Sports Car Market, was $184,082, just this past March at Silverstone. That makes the price achieved this weekend a new record for one of the slinkiest vehicles the Bavarian automaker has ever made, representing an impressive 50-percent increase in value over the course of fourteen years. This particular example – chassis WBAEJ13481AH60437 for those keeping track – is decked out in silver over black, with less than 15,500 miles on the odometer. This Rambo Lambo was produced early in the 301-unit production run, with the sought-after carbureted engine and 32,000 miles on the clock. It didn't set any records at the same price, other examples of the LM002 having traded over the past few years for over $200k. But considering that Sant'Agata originally charged around $120-130k for the SUV when it was new, its selling price still represents about 50-percent appreciation (leaving inflation aside).

Jaguar Land Rover to drop supercharged V8 for turbocharged BMW power

Wed, Jul 27 2016

There are few things that sound as good as Jaguar's 5.0 liter supercharged V8. As great as it is when the supercharger whines or the exhaust cracks and pops on throttle lift-off as the air pressure equalizes, the basic design dates back to the '90s. Plainly, the engine isn't as efficient as it needs to be, but designing a new V8 from the ground up is an expensive proposition. Instead, Automobile reports that Jaguar Land Rover is set to use a twin-turbocharged V8s supplied by BMW. Scalable architecture is all the rage as automakers streamline designs in order to save costs. For example, Jaguar's current supercharged V6 is quite literally a V8 with two holes missing. They didn't even change the length of the block. It seems both of those designs are on their way out, with the V6 being replaced by a inline-six closely related to the company's inline four. It seems that rather than designing an new and expensive V8 for their top of the line models JLR, is sourcing from BMW. From 1994 to 2000, BMW owned Land Rover. A few models, including the Land Rover Range Rover, used BMW engines then and in the initial years of Ford's JLR stewardship. It seems things have now come full circle. BMW currently makes a twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8 that produces anywhere from 440 to 600 horsepower, depending on the application. Automobile says that a new 4.0 liter V8 is in the works and that it will most likely be the engine that JLR uses. Expect it to be more powerful, more fuel efficient, and lighter than what both BMW and JLR currently offer. This seems like a win for both companies. BMW gets to offset the cost of a new motor while JLR, a smaller company, doesn't have to invest in a whole new architecture. As automakers search for ways to cut costs, expect collaborations like this to continue. Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz both share a four-cylinder engine. Ford and GM have worked together to design a shared 10-speed automatic. While we may lament the loss of that wonderful Jaguar Land Rover engine, we can still be happy that they haven't abandoned the V8. This insane Barris-like custom car is a backyard BMW Z3 build

Fri, Jan 9 2015

This is the second car made by Englishman Paul Bacon and it's called the Cosmotron, fashioned over 18 months in his backyard shed. Underneath that Jetsons bubble canopy and swinging-sixties body are the bones of a 1998 BMW Z3 with a 2.8-liter inline-six. Bacon stripped the roadster down, then built it back up using fiberglass laid over polystyrene foam, and leather hand-stitched by his wife. Bacon said he remembers how we were told that 21st-century cars would look like the Cosmotron, and since they don't, he had to fix the error. The list of 20th-century add-ons, however, is impressive, like the six SU carburetors topped off with department-store salt and pepper shakers, and the rear grille decorated with shiny plastic tops from moisturizer bottles. After driving the Cosmotron for two years, Bacon sold it to get ready for his third project. You can hear Bacon and the new buyer tell their stories in the video above.
