I found out my girlfriend is pregnant and we are expecting in August.  So I now need to sell my baby to save and prepare for my soon- to-be new baby.

I am going to try to list everything I know about the car, what it needs, and what has been done to it.

You are looking at a 2000 z3 coupe.  They made less than 5000 of these cars within four years.

I just spent $500 to have the water pump, coolant fan, and fan shroud replaced because the cold weather broke the fan shroud clips, causing the shroud to break the fan.  I had it fixed just after going out to start the car because of the cold weather.

The story:

I purchased this car a little over three and a half years ago.  I found it on eBay and flew out to Newark NJ to pick it up.  The guy I purchased it from said it was a repossession from Chase and that the car had the seats and side door panels were stripped when he got it.  So he put after market seats inside the car and found used inside door panels to be put back on.  The seat belts do not work, not because there are no seat belt straps, but because the clip that attaches the harness to seat belt clips into is attached to OEM seats (see photos).  It was my intention to replace the seats, so I could have proper functioning seat belts, but I never did.  The brakes were really bad when I got the car and needed to be replaced, so I spent $1200 getting the car running smooth again.
Next, my girlfriend backed up into my car not seeing it, and her 5th wheel dented the hood of my car (insurance claim).  When I took my car to the body shop (Orr's Auto Body Cincinnati) I had them fix the dent on the hood, paint the hood, and paint the front bumper.  They noticed that the rims have been spray painted flat black and told me that they know a guy who can clean them up to look brand new for $250.  I kept that in mind for a future date when I wanted to bring the car back to its beauty.

Next, the car has some dings on both doors (parking lots at the grocery ughhh) and a small scrape on the rear driver side bumper, another incident where the driver drove away while the car was parked.

Whenever I had the car serviced they used high viscosity oil purchased from the BMW dealership.  Below is a link to the company that worked on the car. (Bavarian Motor Service)
cincybms dot com

I have had the brakes and rotors replaced, and new oxygen sensors installed.

The car is currently due for another servicing, and it’s starting to idle a little rough (my thoughts are because it’s winter)

The car has new tires installed and a lifetime tire warranty placed on the tires (half price for tires if any damage), with a 3 year alignment.  TiresPlus says that the warranty is good for the purchaser/owner, however, you might be able to take the paperwork in for an alignment if need be, if you live in Cincinnati, I could also meet you at any of the locations, if they ask for an ID.  Or I can provide you with one of my old school IDs.

AC recharge over the summer of 2013.  Blows cold.

What the Car Needs:
 1. There is a sound that recently started rattling, it sounds like it’s an exhaust issue.  It doesn't do it all the time but has happened a few times recently.  When I read the reviews for the car (3 years ago) I found that one z3 owner had to have exhaust work done around 120k miles, and their cost was 350$.  Since there is a metal undercarriage that covers everything in sight, I am not able to just look to see if it’s a loose bolt or what.  Since I am also a student, I haven't really had the money to invest into just having it looked at.

2.  Car needs serviced.

3.  The BMW emblem is missing from the hood of the car.  You can purchase a new emblem from Amazon with free shipping for $5.98.

4.  Center Cap Emblems, one is missing, the other three were spray painted black.  You can purchase a set of four new emblems on Amazon with free shipping for $20.99.

5. OEM seats.  They show up on ebay from time to time in the $400 to $800 range per set.

6. Minor body work

7. New windshield (currently has three small rock chips)

8. Interior blower motor needs looked into.  Sometimes it works on all settings (1,2,3,4) and other times it only works on full blast.  It works regardless...

The car is listed locally and may be taken off ebay at any time if its sold... Please call me if you have any questions.  I am in class regularly so texting might be an easier form of communication.

BMW i3 misses top Euro safety rating [w/videos]

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

The Euro NCAP just tested a recent batch of new cars including the 2014 BMW i3, and the EV Bimmer scored less-than-perfect results. Though not horrible, BMW's all-electric/range-extended i3 was given a four-star (out of five possible) crash rating due to concerns with front-occupant whiplash and side-impact protection.
Based on the crash results, the BMW provided suitable protection for occupants in the frontal, side barrier, pedestrian and child-seat tests, but the i3 was tripped up when it came to the more severe side pole test and the rear-impact test. The pole test showed protection to the chest of the test dummy was "weak," and the front seats only provided "marginal" protection against whiplash for front passengers. Scroll down to watch two videos released by the Euro NCAP of the i3 being tested.

BMW 2 Series specs leaked?

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

Thanks to spy shots from earlier in the year, we already know what the new BMW 2 Series will look like, but now we know a lot more about the coupe courtesy of an apparent BMW South Africa error and some quick-clicking enthusiasts. Though the information no longer appears to be posted on BMW's South African website, 2addicts.com managed to grab most of the details for the new coupe, including the model lineup, specs and most (if not all) of the options list for the upcoming replacement for the 1 Series.
Just like the latest 3 Series, the 2 Series model lineup starts at the 220i powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder, but the more exciting BMW figures to be the M235i with its 320-hp, 3.0-liter straight-six. With the automatic transmission, the info says that the M235i weights 3,240 pounds and will be able to accelerate from 0-62 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds - making it both lighter and quicker than the 135is currently offered in the US. The base 220i coupe should also be fun to drive with its 180 horsepower and sub-3,000 pound curb weight.
A quick side-by-side comparison of the dimensions for the base 220i with our current base 128i shows that the new coupe rides on a longer wheelbase (105.9 in. vs. 104.7 in.), is about two inches longer (174.4 in. vs. 172.2 in.) and is an inch wider (69.8 in. vs. 68.8 in.). 2addicts.com even shows available paint colors, interior trim options and lists pricing for South African-spec models. Head on over to the forum to check out all the info they have posted, but we expect the 2 Series to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show early next year.

BMW i3 qualifies for both green and white HOV stickers in California

Thu, Jan 16 2014

BMW buyers tend to have enough cash on hand to be buffered from the concept of "sticker shock," but the term may take on a different meaning when it comes to the German automaker's i3 plug-in vehicle and its classification by California clean-air regulators. The first i3 EVs are set to be sold in May, and some are questioning if the new car will be eligible for the state's white stickers or green High-Occupancy Vehicle lane stickers, both of which allow for solo-occupancy in HOV lanes. California gives out white stickers to some types of battery-electric vehicles, compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles, and there's currently no limit on the number that can be given out. The green stickers, which are applied to other battery electrics as well as some plug-in hybrids, are limited (there are currently about 15,000 left) and will likely run out within the next year or two. The i3's status is uncertain because of it has an optional gas-powered range-extender. Jacob Harb, head of electric vehicle operations and strategy for BMW, told AutoblogGreen that it's not all that complicated. The pure electric version of the i3 will get the white sticker, the REx version will get the green sticker. He also said that both will qualify for the $2,500 state incentive in California and the $7,500 federal tax credit available in all 50 states (For what it's worth, Green Car Reports says the REx version will only get $1,500 from California). Read Autoblog's First Drive impressions of the i3 here.
