1999 Bmw Z3 M Coupe Coupe 2-door 3.2l on 2040-cars
Syracuse, New York, United States
FOR SALE: 1999 BMW M Coupe, Imola Red exterior, black leather interior, manual transmission, sunroof. Clear New York State Motor Vehicle Title, with no liens. I am the third owner, and purchased the car in May 2008 with 117k miles. The car has been sparingly driven since I have owned it, and now shows 136,683 miles on the odometer. The car has BMW’s S52 engine: rated from the factory at 240 hp and 236 ft lbs of torque. (The car’s original owner added a Dinan ECU tune, which added 10 hp, and raised the top speed limit.) The car is in very good overall condition, and accelerates, brakes, and handles the way a BMW M Coupe should. Mechanically, the engine is very strong, and runs great, with no leaks, oil consumption, check engine or other warning lights displayed, and no abnormal noises. The clutch was recently replaced with a Sach oem unit, and works excellent. The oil has been regularly changed using BMW filters and fully synthetic oil. (either Mobil 1 or Amsoil) All fluids have been changed including transmission, brake, differential and coolant. The brakes work great with plenty of pad and rotor life remaining, and no pulsing or squealing. The tires are a set of matching Toyo Proxes 4, with plenty of tread life remaining. The rims are in very good condition. One has minor curb rash, but they are very good overall for the age of the car. The interior of the car is also very good. There are no cracks in the dashboard and no missing trim pieces. The seats are in very nice condition. The shifter knob needs replacement, and I will be including a lighted BMW ZHP replacement shift knob with the purchase of the car. The HVAC system works fine, except that the blower fan will only run on the high and low settings. The CD changer does not work. The glove compartment door sags like they all do and the catch straps need reattachment. Overall, the exterior of the car is in great condition. The paint is excellent, and there are few to no dents, dings, or scrapes. The car did sustain front end damage in a collision with a guardrail. The airbags did not deploy. A professional quality repair was completed, which included replacement of the bumper and bumper cover, hood, radiator, trim pieces including two new headlights, and repainting. The repair looks good, except that the bumper to hood gap is larger than it should be and the hood alignment is slightly off. Also included: car cover, manuals, extra keys. The pictures in this auction are current and of the car for sale. TERMS: There is no express or implied warranty offered with this car. Sold as is. Shipping is not offered, though I am willing to work with Buyer’s shipper to facilitate pickup of the vehicle. PAYMENT: $1000 PayPal payment due within 24 hours of the end of this auction. Balance due in cash, or certified funds acceptable to Seller at time of delivery and transfer of title. Vehicle is located in Syracuse, NY. Please feel free to ask any questions by e-mail, and I will try to answer them. Reason for Sale: buying newer BMW. |

Two rare Alpina BMWs given the Petrolicious treatment
Tue, 22 Jan 2013Alpina is getting more and more ink because of because of that rolling cannonade known as the B7 and its closer ties with BMW. The company's tuning business dates to 1962 when Burkard Bovensiepen began fiddling with Weber carburetors, then his company began racing in 1968 and was eventually certified as an automaker in 1983.
Two of its rarer specimens from those early years have gotten a glance from the folks at Petrolicious: the E24 B10 and E24 B7S. Based on the BMW 6 Series, the Alpina versions made one of the most special coupes from the Eighties even more so. According to the video, there were only 44 B10s made, and the turbocharged, 333-horsepower B7S - this was in a luxury coupe in 1982, mind you - saw only 33 examples produced.
You won't be sorry to find out more about them - and see how they run - in the Petrolicious video below.
Zombie cars roundup: Dodge has sold 3 new Vipers this year
Thu, Jan 6 2022Car models come and go, but as revealed by monthly sales data, once a car is discontinued, it doesn't just disappear instantly. And in the case of some models, vanishing into obscurity can be a slow, tedious process. That's the case with the 12 cars we have here. All of them have been discontinued, but car companies keep racking up "new" sales with them. There are actually more discontinued cars that are still registering new sales than what we decided to include here. We kept this list to the oldest or otherwise most interesting vehicles still being sold as new, including a supercar. We'll run the list in alphabetical order, starting with *drumroll* ... BMW 6 Series: 55 total sales BMW quietly removed the 6 Series from the U.S. market during the 2019 model year. It had been available in three configurations, a hardtop coupe, a convertible and a sleek four-door coupe-like shape. Â BMW i8: 18 total sales We've always had a soft spot for the BMW i8, despite the fact that it never quite fit into a particular category. It was sporty, but nowhere near as fast as similarly-priced competitors. It looked very high-tech and boasted a unique carbon fiber chassis design and a plug-in hybrid powertrain, but wasn't really designed for maximum efficiency or maximum performance. Still, the in-betweener was very cool to look at and drive, and 18 buyers took one home over the course of 2021. Â Chevy Impala: 750 total sales The Impala represented classic American tastes at a time when American tastes were shifting away from soft-riding sedans with big interior room and trunk space and into higher-riding crossovers. A total of 750 sales were inked last year. Â Chrysler 200: 15 total sales The Chrysler 200 was actually a pretty nice sedan, with good looks and decent driving dynamics let down by a lack of roominess, particularly in the back seat. Of course, as we said regarding the Chevy Impala, the number of Americans in the market for sedans is rapidly winding down, and other automakers are following Chrysler's footsteps in canceling their slow-selling four-doors. Even if Chrysler never really found its footing in the ultra-competitive midsize sedan segment, apparently dealerships have a few leftover 2017 200s floating around. And for some reason, 15 buyers decided to sign the dotted line to take one of these aging sedans home last year.
BMW i3 gets official worldwide
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Even though we recently drove a near-production version of the BMW i3, the car still wore light exterior and interior camouflage. Today, BMW took off that little bit of camo and made a big announcement: The i3 will go on sale in the US for $41,350 in the second quarter of 2014. That does not include any state or federal incentives that could lower the price or the $925 destination fee. The i3 will debut with three trim levels, which BMW is referring to as Worlds: Mega (standard in the US), Giga and Tera.
The BMW i3 is chock-full of new technology afforded by its design as an EV from the start of development, which has resulted in a vehicle layout unique to the i3. BMW has named it LifeDrive architecture, and it features the Life Module and the Drive Module. The Life Module is the i3's pillar-less passenger cell, which is the first mass-produced monocoque made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The tougher-than-steel material is also 30-percent lighter than aluminum, which contributes to the i3's relatively light weight of 2,700 pounds (preliminary US figure) and, in turn, increases its energy efficiency. Expect more of this technology to find its way into future BMWs.
The Drive Module, a 100-percent aluminum chassis mounted under the Life Module, houses everything that makes the i3 go. It includes the 22-kilowatt, 450-pound lithium ion battery mounted as centrally as possible, and provides power to a rear-mounted electric motor that turns the rear wheels. With 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque from zero rpm, the single-gear i3 can accelerate from 0-30 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and 0-60 mph in about 7.0 seconds, but it has a top speed of only 93 mph. BMW says the i3 has a real-world EV range of 80-100 miles, and the standard charger can fill the battery in three hours. Opt for the SAE DC Combo Fast Charger and 30 minutes is all it takes for a full charge; 20 minutes will bump the battery to 80 percent. For customers who have range anxiety, BMW gives them the option to install a 34-hp, 650cc two-cylinder generator as a range extender for the electric drive system.
