This is a gorgeous 1999 BMW Z3. It is an excellent example of a well-maintained car that has been taken care of its entire life. It currently has a little over 102,000 miles on it. A ton of great maintenance has been done by me and also by the previous owner. This car is completely stock.  All VIN-stamped body panels are present.  I really like this car, but I've purchased a 6-speed 2006 Pontiac GTO (which is really an Australian Holden Monaro!) and do not have inside storage for both cars.

Highlights of the vehicle:
-ABS module rebuilt by ModuleMasters.com (Has 5-year warranty).
-Brand-new rear tires and tons of tread left on the fronts tires.  All tires are matching and are Pirelli's PZeroNero. 225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rear.
-Includes 17-inch BMW 330CI wheels.
-Approximately 2,000 miles on the last oil change with Mobil 1 0W-40.  I only use Mann oil filters.  The car uses no oil.
-Valve cover gasket was replaced relatively recently.
-Transmission fluid and differential fluid have been replaced with full synthetic fluids.  Amsoil full synthetic ATF is in the transmission.
-Brake fluid and clutch fluid have been replaced with BMW DOT 4 brake fluid.
-Four brand new Sensen shocks all around. With that, the rear shock mounts were also replaced.
-Powerflex bushings on front lower control arms (purple street version).
-Seat bushings have been replaced with Whalen Delrin seat bushings (no more rocking seats!).
-Both seat belt guides have been replaced with BMW OEM parts.
-Both front and rear brake pads were replaced with BMW OEM pads, and the E-brake shoes were done as well.
-I also replaced the stock rubber clutch line with a Rogue Engineering stainless clutch line.
-The Glove box sag fix has been performed on this car, too.  It will not sag!
-The power top is completely functional, but the top cylinder was leaking.  So, I just installed a manual gas-assist shock to replace it.  It is very easy to pull up manually while seated in the car.  I will be including the old hydraulic top cylinder as well.
-Main serpentine belt replaced.
-Trunk struts replaced.
-3 true BMW key sets are included with the car.

- I also have a few spare parts for the car including a brand new expansion tank and new tie rod ends.  These convey to the new owner as well.

Minor flaws:
-A couple minor dents on the fenders.  Very small but mentioned for accuracy!
-A few scratches and chips on the front.  Nothing unusual, and far less than what you'd expect on a 100,000-mile, 15-year-old car.
-Driver's seat has 2 inches of stitching missing, but no rips in the leather, and nothing is coming apart.
-CARFAX included with car.  Clean EXCEPT for an accident in 2004 where it is noted in the CARFAX as "Damage to front."

This car is very, very clean and well-maintained.  Everything is functional with the car and the A/C is ice cold.  I will accept a $500 deposit with PayPal,  with the balance to be paid in cash or with a cashier's check on a nationally-recognized bank.  I have the title in hand.  Feel free to ask any questions.  The car is also for sale locally and is subject to prior sale--but if you still see it listed here, don't worry; that means it's still available!  Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to see the car.  I'll respond quickly.  The car is located about 4 miles from Orlando International Airport in a residential subdivision.  Thank you for your time!

BMW X5 gets full battery of performance visuals

    Wed, 12 Feb 2014

If you think BMW toned down its third-generation X5 CUV a little too much with its latest redesign, the new M Performance Parts line of optional parts may give you a chance to inject in a new sense of style.
The aesthetic parts include new carbon fiber pieces for the mirror caps, front splitter, rear diffuser and rear aero flaps. There's also a rear spoiler, high-gloss black kidney grilles, M Performance rocker panel decals and double-spoke 21-inch wheels with performance tires. The interior upgrades are similar with an available Alcantara steering wheel with carbon fiber trim, stainless steel pedals and carbon fiber gearshift trim.
Not all of the M Performance Parts are about style. The M Performance Power Kit sharpens throttle response and boosts power of the X5 xDrive35i to 320 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, an improvement of 20 hp and 32 lb-ft, and an optional exhaust with chrome tips improves its sound. For buyers looking for improved stopping power, the M Performance Brake Kit adds six-piston calipers with 19-inch steel rotors.

BMW electrifies the 2 Series Active Tourer with a plug-in prototype

    Thu, Jul 2 2015

BMW is developing a hybrid version of its 2 Series Active Tourer. At the company's Innovation Days 2015, we're finally getting to see the fruits of that electric labor with a prototype for a plug-in hybrid version of the front-wheel-drive hatchback. The Bavarians aren't keeping a secret that they intend to build a model like this in the future. But like the rest of the Active Tourer family, it's likely to remain unavailable to US buyers. BMW is already somewhat familiar with the realm of plug-ins with its i sub-brand and forthcoming X5 xDrive40e PHEV. This 2 Series Active Tourer is largely an adaptation of some of that tech. Up front, there's the company's transversely mounted, 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine making 134 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and it's linked to a six-speed automatic gearbox. A generator on the front axle can also briefly boost output by 20 hp and 111 lb-ft, or help charge the rear-mounted battery. At the back is an electric motor making 87 hp and 122 lb-ft with a two-speed transmission spinning the rear axle. All of this is linked together via the Dynamic Stability Control to shuffle around power as necessary. The hybrid system generally prioritizes using electric power at speeds below 50 miles per hour and kicks on the engine from there. Depending on the settings, drivers can also force it into EV mode with a maximum range predicted at nearly 24 miles. BMW claims the 2 Series Active Tourer PHEV could get to 62 mph in a brisk 6.4 seconds, and the company estimates the setup can return the equivalent of 118 miles per gallon on the European cycle. While there's a lot of equipment to package together in this system, BMW claims that interior room is identical to the purely internal combustion version. The hybrid battery is under the rear seat, and propulsion for the back wheels is centered around the axle. As a prototype, the automaker isn't really talking pricing yet beyond stating buyers "do not have to pay a high premium for the technology." 2. BMW eDrive in the pipeline for further BMW models: The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer plug-in hybrid prototype. The advent of plug-in hybrid variants in various model series from the BMW brand is making all-electric driving with zero local emissions in a premium car a possibility for an ever-increasing number of target groups.

BMW apparently still undecided about future i project electric vehicles

    Wed, Jan 29 2014

Coaches like to say that there's no "i" in team. At least one BMW executive is saying the company's not sure if there are any more "i"s in its near future. BMW executive Harald Krueger indicated that the German automaker is holding back on any i-project plans besides the i3 city car and i8 plug-in hybrid sports car until the company gets a better idea of how those models are selling, Reuters says. Bimmer has spent about $2.7 billion on the plug-in sub-brand and says it's taken more than 11,000 orders for the i3 since the model was first shown off at German dealerships last fall. Additionally, BMW has no plans to make the i3 in China (BMW makes versions of its 3- and 5-series sedans there). As we all know, should the brand expand, BMW has already trademarked the "i" badge from i1 through i9. There are a lot of mixed messages on the BMW i project front. For example, early indications are that i3 demand has been higher expected. BMW North America chief Ludwig Willisch indicated earlier this month that US demand for the electric city car, at least for the near future, will likely to outstrip supply. Bimmer dealers in the US will start getting the $41,350 i3 in May. Additionally, fellow BMW executive Jacob Harb said the company was already starting to work on its next EV, to be larger than the i3, though he didn't give many details and was later somewhat refuted by another BMW spokesman. So stay tuned. Featured Gallery 2015 BMW i8 View 22 Photos News Source: Reuters Green BMW Electric i8 bmw i5 harald krueger
