Up for bid is this immaculately stunning fully loaded 2011 BMW X6 50i xdrive (all wheel drive) twin turbo 4.4 liter V8. The 8 speed automatic steptronic transmission is amazingly smooth and powerful. With a push of a button you can put into "sport" mode and the transmission remains in each gear longer delivering more power. For those that like manual transmissions, this BMW has the steering wheel power finger shifters. It is the most desired color combination of black exterior and black interior.  It is in excellent condition and is flawless and has almost every feature and package that BMW offers. It is a two owner car and I purchased it from a dealership in Atlanta, GA.  It has always been kept in a garage and has never been smoked in. Dark tinted windows and two sets of floor mats, carpet and heavy duty aftermarket rubber. Tires are Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport. Tires are close to new and are in good condition and will last a good amount of time. If you have never driven one of these you should. It has unbelievable power and is amazingly fast.  I have owned a Ferrari, a Porsche and an Aston Martin and this BMW twin turbo feels faster and more powerful at the touch of your foot. Rear trunk space with automatic hatchback is great feature and provides plenty of luggage space. Cashiers check or cash accepted. Paypal deposit accepted. I own the car free and clear and have the title. Title will be signed over after funds are verified. Buyer is responsible for picking car up or arranging shipping.

Save thousands of dollars $$ not paying higher dealer prices. My BMW is in better condition and is priced lower than any dealer on same car. Pay thousands below the NADA or KBB pricing. Own the ultimate driving machine, BMW.

Next BMW X1 caught on flatbed

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

The X1 had been around for four years before it was added to BMW's US lineup, so it isn't all that surprising that a new version of the company's smallest Sport Activity Vehicle is already in the works. Captured in transit on the back of a flatbed truck, these spy shots give us our first look at the next-gen X1 - codenamed F48 - which is expected to debut around 2015.
While the camouflage does a good job of obscuring most of the styling elements, we definitely see evidence of the X1's new platform. Elements like the loss of the long nose and a noticeably shrunken dash-axle gap (just compare this spy shot picture to this one from our X1 review), are good indicators that the next X1 will move to the new front-wheel-drive platform BMW is using for the new Mini and 1 Series GT. Aside from this, the overall shape is very similar to the current design, but we're sure it will pull many cues from the updated range of BMW products.

Looking back at 84 years of BMW roadsters

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Today BMW is a top player in the luxury vehicle market, but it wasn't always so. With origins as an airplane engine builder early in the 20th Century, it broke into the automotive industry when it bought Automobilwerk Eisenach in 1928. That German manufacturer was licensed to build the Austin Seven under the name Dixi DA-1, which could be had in a roadster body style. In 1929, BMW dropped the Dixi name, and by 1936, it was building a car it designed in-house, the 326 sedan. That was followed by the company's first roadster of its own design, the swoopy two-door 327 of 1937.
XCAR picks up there, and gives a history of BMW's iconic roadsters starting with the 327, ending with today's Z4, and covering everything in between - including the beautiful post-war 507 of 1957 and the funky, plastic-bodied 1989 Z1.
The video, which we've included below, is a good history lesson and a great chance to see a bunch of classic BMWs, spanning 84 years, all driven back to back within the safe confines of a racetrack. When you have a spare 20 minutes, go ahead and take some time to watch it.

Rinspeed issues its Budii call for Geneva [w/video]

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Of all the concepts prepared every year for the Geneva Motor Show, those made by Rinspeed are typically the most outlandish and forward-thinking. And this is the latest from Frank Rinderknecht and company. Though Rinspeed's been known to build entirely original vehicles from the ground up, it tends to base its creations on production models: Following the Tesla-based XchangE from last year, the Smart-based Dock+Go of 2012, the Fiat-based E2 from 2009 and the Lotus-based sQuba in 2007, the new Budii concept is based on the BMW i3. That means, of course, that it's powered by electricity, but the technology demonstrator is focused more on autonomous driving tech. The Budii incorporates a periscopic camera and laser scanner to map the terrain and the road ahead from above, and a drive-by-wire steering system that allows the steering wheel on an articulated column to be passed between driver and passenger or tucked out of the way to let the electronics take over. Once unburdened of the task of driving, the occupants can enjoy the proliferation of touchscreens, the "wellness shower" (whatever that is) installed in the headliner, the automatic watch-winder on the steering column and the interior accoutrements furnished by Mansory. The whole thing rides on a lowered suspension with 19-inch Borbet alloys, with a rainbow Knight Rider-style grille in the nose. But to appreciate the full scope of the consortium of suppliers that collaborated with Rinspeed to bring the Budii to life, you'll want to delve into the press release after the video below and scope out the dozens of high-resolution images in the slideshow above. 2015 Geneva Motor Show: Rinspeed "Budii" redefines human-machine interaction Reach out to robots The vision of autonomous driving will soon become reality and will fundamentally change the interaction of man and automobiles. While the research centers of the automotive industry are still feverishly working on the technical solutions, progressive thinkers such as the Swiss idea factory Rinspeed are already giving concrete thought to how automated private transport will transform the car and the man-machine system. Besides fundamental conceptual changes, this will also have to involve issues of ethics and society. In the past, the robots in the factories of this world merely assembled cars for people. In the new "Budii" concept car from Swiss automotive visionary Frank M.
