Mercedes-Benz C-Class named 2015 World Car of the Year

It's been a good morning for Mercedes-Benz, with three of the company's wares taking home awards today at the New York Auto Show. The 2015 World Car of the Year awards have just been announced, and the charming new C-Class sedan has taken top honors, beating both the new Volkswagen Passat and Ford Mustang. But Car of the Year isn't the only award Mercedes received this morning. Here are the other World Car announcements, where M-B was honored two more times. BMW owners celebrate 40 years of 3 Series

With a recent refresh and introduction of the 340i, BMW is continuing to evolve the 3 Series to make sure that the it can keep up in the competitive world of sport sedans. However, the company doesn't want to forgot the past 40 years of the 3 Series' history. In a new video, the brand travels the world to let owners of a few classic examples explain just what makes this model so special. While several generations get their turn in the limelight, fans of the E30 from the '80s and early '90s will find a lot to like here. BMW travels to Las Vegas, NV, to talk with a guy who specializes in restoring them, and then the company goes to Jakarta, Indonesia, to check out one that's grabbing trophies on the racetrack. A bit of advice, though: make sure to turn on the subtitles for this video because portions of it include interviews with Spanish and German owners in their native languages.

BMW revises X1 to tide it over until replacement

It's been over five years since BMW first introduced the X1 at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, and a bit over a year since it brought the compact crossover to these shores. Soon the Bavarian automaker will replace the X1 with a new model based on the company's new front-drive architecture, but not before it gives it a few updates to keep it fresh.
Set to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show next month alongside the Z4 Pure Fusion Design and the new M3 sedan and M4 coupe, the enhanced X1 benefits from some new exterior accents, a spruced-up interior and new technology packed inside.
New air intakes in the bumper and integrated daytime driving lights distinguish the front end, with new wheel and color options available. Inside, certain versions get a new dashboard treatment, among other minor trim updates, and BMW has installed its latest ConnectedDrive suite to keep it up with the times.
