Does it really need an introduction?  You know what it is.  : )

Beautiful and unusual Sparkling Brown Bronzed finish is hands down the best color offered by BMW in this car.  With the combination of white parchment leather, it is superior!
Car has it all, truly.  Except the tiny 3rd seats where youngsters may be imprisoned.  If you want 3rd seats you might look for a competitor diesel - hint, see my other auctions.

I must tell you this is one ride you will never forget - and I truly will be a sad camper the day it rolls out.    And roll out it will to a lucky individual with the foresight to purchase it.  In the business of selecting automobiles for 25 years, I have seldom seen any vehicle anywhere taken care of like this one.  Truly no apologies.
Not only is it beautiful far beyond my lense can capture, but this BMW X5 35D is one of the best driving cars I have ever had the privilege to take the wheel!  The performance, sound of quiet strength, and fuel mileage is quite shocking compared to the gasoline versions of the X5.

Picture space in this ad is severely limited to the non-volume sellers like myself, who are unwilling to pay a premium for the entrance fee.  This vehicle will sell itself in person, there is no doubt.  You will have to call and talk about it the old-fashioned way.  And I want to earn your business that way too.

I only hand pick vehicles with care and move a few, not hundreds.  I do it because its my passion, because I love it.  And I love the look of satisfaction from your face when you shake my hand and say 'thank you' for selling this car, my dream car, to me.  And you will.

Shoot me an email and send your tel or ask for mine.

We will see you around soon!

Consumer Reports selling its road-tested roadsters [w/video]

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

Here's a chance to acquire a celebrity-owned vehicles, and this time at a discount instead of a premium. So the celebrity in this case is Consumer Reports, that magazine that could be equally adored and abhored by car enthusiasts. CR buys all of its test vehicles and usually finds willing second owners within its own ranks, but its opening its small used-car lot to the public. On the forecourt are four roadsters: an automatic 2012 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Quattro S-Tronic with 6,600 miles for $36,500, a manual 2012 BMW Z4 sDrive28i with 8,400 miles for $45,000, a manual 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK250 for $39,500 and a manual 2013 Porsche Boxster with 7,000 miles for $48,000.
Those numbers mean a savings of $9,000 to $10,000 before haggling - each car is listed with an "Asking price" so there could be some wiggle room if you show up with pockets full of dough and eyes full of serious intent. Since the money CR earns from the sales go back into the magazine's budget to buy more test cars, however, it probably won't take any oddball trades, so you can forget about getting any purchasing help from that track-day AMC Javelin project on blocks in the back yard.
The vehicles have been taken care of and spiffed up for sale; buyers will take delivery at the CR test track in East Haddam, Connecticut and get a tour of the facilities. While you're there they'll even take you on a lap around the track so you can feel how your car handles when driven by one of its testers. They will probably not help you with advice on which toaster and dehumidifier to buy - you'll still need to get a subscription for that. Have a look at the video below to see a day in the life of a CR test car.

Watch two championship-winning DTM cars from BMW go head-to-head

Mon, 06 May 2013

BMW recently had a little fun with two of the company's past DTM champions. Roberto Ravaglia and Bruno Spengler, winners of the 1989 and 2012 championships, respectively, both showed up at the world-famous Hockenheimring with their title-winning cars. The two swapped seats, with Ravaglia taking the helm of Spengler's BMW M3 DTM racer and Spengler sliding behind the wheel of Ravaglia's first-generation M3 racer in the classic BMW Bank livery, and headed for the track. Spengler got a 23 second head start in the first-gen M3 with Ravaglia chasing behind.
It didn't take long for the older hotshoe to sort out his new ride and close the gap. The short clip below follows the two as they make their way around the circuit, but the really interesting portion comes when the pair begin discussing what they like and don't like about each other's machines. You can check out the full video below for yourself.

BMW NA president says i3 beats Tesla EVs thanks to lighter all-around footprint

Wed, Jan 29 2014

Those waiting for a full-out brawl between Tesla Motors head Elon Musk and BMW North America chief Ludwig Willisch will have to wait a bit. For the bloodthirsty, there are signs of some healthy competition and a little bit of green-car sniping between the two automakers. Willisch, speaking at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month and responding to questions about Tesla, noted (without mentioning that company by name) that the production process of the German automaker's i3 plug-in was "greener" than any other. According to Business Insider, Willisch highlighted the fully recyclable materials used to construct the i3 as well as the hydropower used at the carbon fiber plant in Moses Lake, WA. Willisch also noted that the Tesla Model S is "very heavy on the braking. Our car feels just like a normal car. That's a big difference when it comes to driving," Automotive News said in a separate report. The latter model weighs about a third less than the Tesla, though it also has an EV range about a third as big. The BMW executive did allow that the Tesla did make a good proverbial "snowplow," not for its driving characteristics but for its ability to get more people conformable with electric vehicle technology. Musk was asked about the i3 in an August conference call and laughed before noting that the i3 had "room to improve." No word on whether Musk and Willisch will be sending each other Valentine's Day cards next month.
