64,000 miles 3.0 Liter 6 Cylinder Clean Turbodiesel 8 Speed Automatic with Manual-automatic mode 19/26 MPG 265 HP and 425 lb-ft of torque Metallic Silver All wheel drive Dual exhaust Keyless start Touch locking/unlocking Premium sound system Technology Package HID headlights Halo running lights Navigation Satellite Radio Bluetooth Heated/Cooled Seats Highly adjustable electric seats Heated rear seats Third row seats Panoramic sunroof Power trunk lift Roof rack BMW cloth luggage rack Leather seats Heads up display Rubber and cloth floor mats Back up camera 360 Parking sensors Traction control Stability control Hill descent control Roof spoiler Brand new all season tires Brand new front brakes 100,000 mile extended warranty Free dealership service until 100,000 miles Much more... It's still a like a brand new car and has that new car smell. I'm selling it because we no longer need a large vehicle for kids and traveling and are getting something smaller. It is in excellent condition except for a couple small black scuffs on the front driver's side bumper (shown in picture) and a dent in the bumper and reflector of the rear drivers side bumper (also shown) but are not anything we've thought necessary to fix because it is not visible until close. We used it for a lot of traveling with the family and even took a trip down Route 66 to Vegas and back which is why it will come with the cloth BMW luggage rack bought from the dealership (no pictures). It's very luxurious and has great handling. It is excellent in the snow with the all wheel drive and brand new all-season tires replaced 4 months ago. The diesel model is a rare model to find used since they are known for lasting much longer than gasoline engines. They also are very fuel efficient and have low emissions for a large SUV. They have a lot of power and torque to get moving quickly for city driving which is nice. All service has been performed by the BMW dealership on time and will be under warranty until 100,000 miles as well as having full maintenance and service covered. This will be transferred to the new buyer which means free oil changes, brakes, and any other issue it might have in the future which is a huge money saver. It's a great high end car for a family or someone who travels with all the upgrades that it could have. I will not ship it, pick up from Poplar Grove, IL only with cash or certified check only. |

Frankfurt Motor Show Notes: Why Jaguar decided to build an SUV
Wed, Sep 16 2015It was inevitable. Jaguar had to make an SUV, and that notion became reality this week with the debut of the F-Pace, an all-wheel-drive five-seater that will launch in the United States next spring. Some purists may cringe. But in an era when Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, and other traditional luxury brands are all building or (planning to build) SUVs, Jaguar had to evolve. While it seems like a leap for Jaguar to make an SUV, longtime design director Ian Callum said it's been in the works for years. "The first time I was asked the question was when I arrived 16 years ago," he said. So in 1999 (and probably well before that), Jaguar was already thinking SUV. What took so long? "It wasn't a priority," Callum said. Jaguar was concentrating on fixing its existing lineup, which was pockmarked with holes and poorly selling products, like the X-Type. Along the way, Jaguar and sister brand Land Rover were sold by Ford to Indian conglomerate Tata Motors. Flash forward several years, and Jaguar and Land Rover are both experiencing a resurgence in the United States and around the world. Jaguar's lineup is flush with the E-Type's modern successor, the F-Type, plus a new version of the XF. The XJ received a 2016 freshening, and the smaller XE sedan is on the way. Jaguar put its house in order as other factors conspired to make a crossover timely. Fuel prices stayed relatively low, and consumers in the US and China remained steadfast in their love for utility vehicles of all stripes. Making a Jaguar SUV became a priority. "The world was telling us in no uncertain terms this is what they wanted," Callum said. "Not to be in the sector would be a little naive for the sake of purity." Jaguar proved its intent two years ago when it revealed the C-X17 crossover concept at Frankfurt, and the final production model is close to the prototype's striking looks. "I thought we managed to maintain that spirit," Callum said. It's a true Jaguar, with cues from the F-Type, 1968 XJ, and other famous models. Who would have thought Jaguar would make an SUV? "I certainly didn't," Callum admitted. But the F-Pace is here. If Callum is okay with it, purists can be, too. Quick Hits Opel retrenches for 2016 and beyond Opel used the Frankfurt show to display its new generation of the Astra, a critical vehicle line for the German division of General Motors.
Even 'Ring taxi drivers need to respect the Green Hell
Wed, 06 Aug 2014The Nürburgring Nordschleife has the reputation as one of the most difficult tracks in the world to master - deservedly so. With 14 miles of roadway and about 160 corners over a massive amount of elevation change, the amount of grip can change from turn to turn. As the driver of the famous BMW Ring Taxi learned this weekend after a shunt into the barricades, the 'Ring can bite unsuspecting pros just as easily as amateurs.
The video of the incident below shows the M5 oversteering right into the wall as a phalanx of Porsche models arrive behind it. According to Bridge to Gantry, a website that specializes in news about the 'Ring, the taxi's passengers were picked up by another Ring Taxi and driven off with a fantastic story to tell their friends back home. "The accident happened at low speed, there were two passengers in the car, but no one had at any injuries," said BMW spokesperson Cypselus von Frankenberg to Autoblog via email.
The crash also closed track for over an hour to clean up and to haul the stricken BMW away. When a driver making a living from driving lap after lap at the Nordschleife has a crash even as seemingly minor as this one, it just goes to show why the course has the nickname 'The Green Hell.'
