2007 Bmw X5 4.8i Sport Utility 4-door on 2040-cars
Powell, Ohio, United States
This is a 2007 BMW X5 4.8L sports activity vehicle. It has had one owner, which is now the seller of the vehicle. The car is in Clean-to-Excellent condition. It has 145,000 miles, the vast majority of which are highway miles logged through the course of business. The car has been consistently and meticulously maintained, and all original features of the car are in working order. The car received new brakes and tires in 2012. In addition to the features listed, it comes with BMW all-weather floor mats, a BMW cargo liner for the rear area of the car, and BMW removable rooftop crossbars that fit across the mounting bars on top of the car. The car does have receiver for a trailer hitch, although towing usage has been limited to a small trailer used for vacationing and a lightweight landscape trailer from time to time.
I have used the web site edmunds.com to gauge the value of the car. For a Clean vehicle with the features provided that web site suggests the car's trade in value would be $17.6k and its retail value would be $22k. This should explain my rationale for target "buy it now" price. Features provided in the car are recapped here: High performance 4.8L v8 engine. Newer models offer a 4.4L v8 as part of the "M Sport" line of X5s. The M Sport label was not offered in 2007 but I believe this is comparable. Black exterior, tan leather interior with ventilated front seats. Driver's seat provides massage motion in the seat, recommended for long commutes. Seats are heated. Heated steering wheel. Navigation System. Comfort access package - doors will lock or unlock if key in on your person. Also, car will not allow key to be locked inside the vehicle - it will force locks open and indicate the key is inside the car. Enhanced headlights with automatic redirection of the lights through a turn. Fog lighting is also provided. Panoramic Sunroof. Power-retractable rear-view mirrors. FM/AM/CD/Weather Band radio capability. iPod or iPhone integration. Bluetooth integration with phone. Hands free capability integrated within the car. Rear entertainment system with DVD player. Navigation system with real time traffic provided. Rear view camera. Parking distance assist and warning system. Automatic tire pressure monitor. Automatic vehicle systems monitor. Voice command capability, enabled on the steering wheel. Automatic headlight washer with heated washer fluid. Power windows, power locks, child locks for rear windows controllable from driver's seat. Downhill speed control for aggressive descents. Integrate garage door opener. XM radio unit has been installed by owner, and transfer of that unit is assumed with the sale of the car. XM is controlled by this unit, and played through the central stereo system. Rear door is NOT automatic. It can be opened electronically from the driver's seat, but it must be lifted and closed manually. This X5 does NOT have a third row of seats, although they are offered on some 2007 X5s. |

Mini JCW Paceman vs. BMW M135i in family faceoff
Mon, 15 Apr 2013Over the last year, we've had the chance to drive two of the most exciting hatchbacks in the BMW family - the BMW M135i and the Mini Paceman John Cooper Works - but Autocar has managed to get the two corporate cousins together for a head-to-head comparison. Just like our initial impressions of the Paceman JCW, Autocar has little to complain about this new 215-horsepower hatchback... until it begins to factor in the faster, better-mannered and similarly priced M135i.
Despite laying down an extra 100 hp and delivering a 0-60 time that is almost two seconds quicker, the M135i carries the same price tag of 29,535 pounds in the UK; US pricing for the Paceman starts at $36,200, while it still isn't even clear if the US will be getting the M135i. Even more surprising is the fact that the Paceman falls short of the M135i in regards to rear seat and cargo volume, and just barely squeaks out a win in the fuel economy department. Scroll down to watch the BMW versus Mini hot hatch battle.
BMW strategy gets green with future i8 Roadster, PHEV Mini
Wed, Mar 16 2016Recent concepts like the Vision Next 100 have signaled BMW's plan to become a leader in automotive tech in the near future, but the Bavarian automaker added some concrete details to that strategy during the company's annual press conference. The business promises there are updated i models and more plug-in hybrids on the way, and a vehicle called the iNext could bring an autonomous EV to the road early next decade. Before we see any completely new vehicles, look for BMW to refine its current green models. Later this year, the i3 will get a larger battery capacity, which will increase the hatchback's range. After seemingly endless teasing, the BMW i8 Roadster will finally arrive in 2018, according to a slide during the conference. The company will also launch a plug-in hybrid Mini, but it didn't give a specific arrival date. At the beginning of the next decade, BMW will also introduce a fully autonomous i model. At the beginning of the next decade, BMW will also introduce a fully autonomous i model, which it currently calls the iNext. "BMW iNEXT heralds the next era of mobility," company CEO Harald Kruger said. "This symbol of our technology leadership will demonstrate how we will bring the future of mobility into series production." BMW refers to its research into autonomous driving as Project i 2.0. Just as the initial development of the i models led to better EV tech and innovations in carbon fiber, the new undertaking should result in improvements to networked motoring and driverless tech for the iNext. The company plans to focus on high definition digital maps, sensor technology, cloud technology, and artificial intelligence. The company's product plan for the i range doesn't show any vehicles between the i8 Roadster in 2018 and the iNext early next decade. Perhaps the new model is the fruition of the many rumors about a family-oriented i5. As BMW eyes the future, it still sees the combustion engine as an important tool for the present, and there are still more traditional models to look forward to. Without offering any details, BMW promises more M models are under development. The larger X7 CUV will also arrive soon, and there'll possibly be even more crossovers, too. "We are also taking an in-depth look at the additional potential of this highly attractive segment," Kruger said.
2014 BMW 4 Series drops its top, priced from $48,750*
Sat, 12 Oct 2013BMW will debut its new 2014 4 Series Convertible at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, and after seeing plenty of spy shots and, most recently, some leaked images, we now have all the official details. To no one's surprise, the 4 Series convertible is, essentially, a topless version of BMW's new-for-2014 4 Series coupe, and will be offered in the United States in the same 428i and 435i guises.
On the base end, that means the 428i Convertible arrives with the company's 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, good for 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque, and available with either rear- or all-wheel drive. BMW says the 428i will sprint to 60 miles per hour in a respectable 6.2 seconds. For folks in need of more thrust, BMW will happily sell you a 435i Convertible, available only with rear-wheel drive, powered by a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged inline-six that produces 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of twist. Hitting 60 mph in the 435i will take roughly five and a half seconds with the standard eight-speed auto. Curiously, BMW did not mention anything about a six-speed manual transmission for either model, so looks like this droptop might be an auto-only affair. We've contacted BMW for confirmation, so we'll keep you posted.
Like the 3 Series Convertible it replaces, the 4 Series uses a three-piece folding hardtop configuration, and BMW says that added sound deadening reduces audible wind noise by about two decibels. Folding the automatic roof takes just 20 seconds, and can be done at speeds up to roughly 11 mph. For chilly, top-down driving (something we're big fans of), there are now three-temperature neck warmers for the front seats - just like what Mercedes-Benz offers with its AirScarf system.
