2003 Bmw X5 4.4i Sport Utility 4-door 4.4l on 2040-cars
Dearborn Heights, Michigan, United States
I am listing my 2003 BMW X5 4.4i. Very Low Reserve! This is a very clean shiny Black exterior with Black leather interior SUV. It has about 138,xxx miles on it. Had to replace cluster due to dead pixels, new cluster has 118,496 on it was replaced about 2000 miles ago have receipt. I bought this back in August of 2013. I have done the following work to it most major ones with receipt and 90% OEM Parts, Transmission Rebuilt with warranty and 2000 miles ago (had a sensor issue decided to have it rebuilt was planning on keeping), New battery, Alternator, Water Pump, Thermostat, Radiator, Axles, Front Controls arm bushings, Ball joints, Tie Rods, new Goodyear tires less than 2000 miles. Had the LCD on the MID/Radio repaired due to dead pixels, installed SiriusXM Receiver, AUX/iPod Port. Comes with 3 keys, 1 Brand New Remote Key, 1 Brand New Metal Valet Key, 1 non-working Remote key(still locks manually and starts car). Replaced 2 window regulators. No scratches or dents that I can see, other than whats been noted above, I am sure I may have missed something. The exterior on this is amazingly clean and looks like new.
I bought this for my wife, that is why I had all this work done and replaced so many parts. I didn't want her and our son driving around in anything that wasn't safe. She has decided that this is to big for her and wants a smaller car. It hasn't been driven almost all winter. I have invested a lot of time and money, my loss is your gain. This is listed AS-IS NO Warranty NO refund, I have done my best to describe any and all issues or flaws with the vehicle. Buyer/Bidders are responsible. If you live out of state and plan on flying in I will pick you up at the Airport and/or work with your shipping company. Please do not bid unless you are willing and able to complete the transaction. This will be listed locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime should it no longer be available. If you have any questions please contact me: 313.529.7773 |

2015 BMW M3 squares off against Alpina D3 in gas vs. diesel throwdown
Sat, 26 Jul 2014There was a time when diesel meant one of two things: This vehicle's owner either wants to save some money at the pump or needs to haul massive loads. It definitely did not mean that the owner of said machine wanted to drive fast, but that perception has slowly but surely been changing over the last several years, with automakers from Volkswagen and Ford to Audi and BMW offering spiced-up versions of their high-compression, turbocharged diesels.
It's that last automaker we mentioned that's the subject of the video you'll see down below. One bright-blue BMW M3 was procured by the Brits at Autocar, and it was lined up against a deep-black Alpina D3 (which we sadly can't buy in the US) in a spate of tests, including acceleration, stopping, sound and lap times on a closed circuit. The results, which we won't spoil for you, were enlightening, and were followed up by personal impressions from the man behind the wheel.
We know you're curious. All it takes to find out which of these 3.0-liter, twin-turbo-powered 3 Series variants came out on top is to scroll down below and watch. You know what to do.
BMW planning Chinese recall for engine part issue [w/video]
Mon, 17 Mar 2014After receiving an unspecified number of complaints in China, BMW has reportedly started a "full investigation" into what may be a defective part in its VANOS engine control system. BMW said via a Chinese blog that it would file a recall application with the the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in China.
BMW has not yet announced how many vehicles will be recalled, or which models the potential recall might cover. We're also curious as to whether the VANOS issue could extend into markets outside of China.
We've placed a call with BMW in the United States, and will update this post as soon as we hear back. Stay tuned for more, and if you're curious about what VANOS is and how it works, scroll down below for a video animation.
Rolls-Royce Cullinan and BMW 8 Series spied south of Death Valley
Wed, Aug 30 2017Recently, we've stumbled upon a number of manufacturer prototypes running around. Usually, spy photographers sit and wait for hours with cameras primed in order to get a few shots of a car. We just got lucky. First, we caught the new Chevy Corvette ZR1 convertible during a Facebook Live video. A week or so later McGraw snapped a video of a ZR1 coupe cruising in his neck of the woods. Today, our ace photographer Drew Phillips caught a BMW test fleet filling up the new Rolls-Royce Cullinan and 8 Series coupe in Baker, Calif. Baker sits along Interstate 15, about halfway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. It's just south of Death Valley, and, being late August, suggests that BMW was doing some hot weather testing. Drew was filling up his car when the fleet rolled in. There were at least two of the new king Rolls and a single 8 Series. Both cars were wearing a full swirl camouflage wrap. It's not an uncommon place to see prototypes. Still, seeing a whole fleet roll in is quite a sight. We've seen official photos of the Cullinan before, but these pictures give us our best view of the profile and rear we've had so far. From a distance, it looks like a high-riding version of the new Phantom with a hatch in place of the trunk. The taillights are obviously just filler units. Expect the final version to look very much like the squared off LED units on the Phantom. Likewise the interior and engine should be straight from the Phantom. That means a twin-turbocharged V12, though power is likely to be sent to all four wheels. We've seen the full BMW 8 Series concept a few times now. The proportions on the production car look the same, with a long hood and even longer wheelbase. The nose isn't quite as aggressive as the concept, but we expected the styling to be toned down to meet crash and safety standards. As for engines, look for six, eight and (hopefully) 12-cylinder power under the hood. A plug-in variant is also expected. Both cars have been in development for a long while, so look for full debuts sometime this auto show season. Maybe we'll happen upon some more test mules between now and then. Related Video:
