1987 Bmw M6 Base Coupe 2-door 3.5l on 2040-cars
Marietta, Georgia, United States
THE OVER ALL CONDITION IS GREAT. THE PAINT HAS ROAD SAND BLAST PITS, THE CHROME IS WEATHERED, ALL GLASS IS GOOD. THE INTERIOR IS VERY CLEAN AND FUNCTIONAL . ALL INTERIOR EQUIPMENT IS OPERATIONAL. I USED THE CAR TO DRIVE BACK AND FORTH TO NORTH DAYTONA BEACH AND FT. MYERS MANY MANY TIMES. THE FUEL MILEAGE WAS AN UNBELIEVABLE 27.3 MPG , UNLESS YOU KEPT A W.O.T..... THEN IT DROPPED TO 10-12 . THE TOP HALF OF THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REWORKED, AS HAS ALL SUSPENSION , BRAKES , AND STEERING GEAR. ALL FLUIDS HAVE BEEN CHANGED . THERE ARE 222K MILES ON THE CLOCK. THE ENGINE HAS AN ENHANCED ECU CHIP PUTTING THE HORSE POWER AT 321. THE ECU IS A LIVE/TIME ADJUSTABLE CHIP INSTALLED. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR 2-3 YEARS AND NOW GARAGED AS IT HAD BEEN BEFORE STORAGE. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THE CAR IS A VERY LOUD INPUT SHAFT BEARING .[ LOUD] I HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED THE TRANS. BEARINGS ASSORTED OTHER PARTS WHICH WILL GO WITH THE CAR, OR BE PUT IN BEFORE THE CAR GETS SOLD.....I LOVED THE CAR , MY DAUGHTER WANTED THE CAR ....THEN I CAME TO MY SENSES.....FIGURED I'D BETTER GET THE CAR SOLD BEFORE MY ONLY OFFSPRING SETS HER EYES ON IT.

Monsoon rains disrupt production for Ford, BMW in India
Wed, Dec 2 2015Even modern production techniques can be stymied by Mother Nature. This was demonstrated most recently in India, as torrential, monsoon rains caused a deluge that forced multiple automakers to suspend production. Ford, Renault, and BMW all halted work at their Indian facilities around the southern city of Chennai, also known as Madras. The annual rains disrupted public transport around the city, preventing employees from making the trek into city's factories. According to Automotive News, Chennai saw 48 inches of precipitation last month alone, which is more than Seattle, WA saw in all of 2014. While Ford and BMW closed things down for all of December 1, Renault just cancelled a pair of shifts at its Chennai factory. This is the second time in the past month that automakers in southeast India have been forced to stop production due to severe flooding, and things aren't likely to improve. According to The Weather Channel, forecasts call for thunderstorms over five of the next seven days, while the chance of rain won't fall below 80 percent until December 8. Ford, Renault, and BMW are far from the only automakers that could stand to be impacted by the rains. The city has been nicknamed "The Detroit of India" for its extreme automotive presence. Daimler, Hindustan, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, and Nissan all own factories in the region. The Homer to contest 24 Hours of LeMons
Thu, 27 Jun 2013It's finally happened. A 24 Hours of LeMons team has built the definitive interpretation of The Homer from The Simpsons for competition in an upcoming race. As you may recollect, The Homer is the fictional car designed by Homer Simpson for his brother's car company. Designed with a separate compartment for screaming children and other Homer-centric goodies, the animated machine bankrupted its parent company and put Homer's brother out of a job. Now we get to watch it race other crap cans as it tackles Southern California's Buttonwillow Raceway on June 29. Scott Chamberlain, Kris Linquist, Reid Conti, Ben Reilly and Mike Yepes will helm the machine, and Jeff Herman serves as the team's creative director.
The racer is the latest incarnation of a well-abused BMW 3 Series. The team campaigned the same E30 under the "Prickstine" banner as a Chrysler Imperial tribute and "Porcubimmer," the latter being a riff on the ever-popular joke about the difference between porcupines and BMW models. Never gets old. You can check out a video of the finished Homer below, and be sure to like the team on Facebook to see updates from the race. Now, about that Canyonero...
Rinspeed issues its Budii call for Geneva [w/video]
Tue, Feb 17 2015Of all the concepts prepared every year for the Geneva Motor Show, those made by Rinspeed are typically the most outlandish and forward-thinking. And this is the latest from Frank Rinderknecht and company. Though Rinspeed's been known to build entirely original vehicles from the ground up, it tends to base its creations on production models: Following the Tesla-based XchangE from last year, the Smart-based Dock+Go of 2012, the Fiat-based E2 from 2009 and the Lotus-based sQuba in 2007, the new Budii concept is based on the BMW i3. That means, of course, that it's powered by electricity, but the technology demonstrator is focused more on autonomous driving tech. The Budii incorporates a periscopic camera and laser scanner to map the terrain and the road ahead from above, and a drive-by-wire steering system that allows the steering wheel on an articulated column to be passed between driver and passenger or tucked out of the way to let the electronics take over. Once unburdened of the task of driving, the occupants can enjoy the proliferation of touchscreens, the "wellness shower" (whatever that is) installed in the headliner, the automatic watch-winder on the steering column and the interior accoutrements furnished by Mansory. The whole thing rides on a lowered suspension with 19-inch Borbet alloys, with a rainbow Knight Rider-style grille in the nose. But to appreciate the full scope of the consortium of suppliers that collaborated with Rinspeed to bring the Budii to life, you'll want to delve into the press release after the video below and scope out the dozens of high-resolution images in the slideshow above. 2015 Geneva Motor Show: Rinspeed "Budii" redefines human-machine interaction Reach out to robots The vision of autonomous driving will soon become reality and will fundamentally change the interaction of man and automobiles. While the research centers of the automotive industry are still feverishly working on the technical solutions, progressive thinkers such as the Swiss idea factory Rinspeed are already giving concrete thought to how automated private transport will transform the car and the man-machine system. Besides fundamental conceptual changes, this will also have to involve issues of ethics and society. In the past, the robots in the factories of this world merely assembled cars for people. In the new "Budii" concept car from Swiss automotive visionary Frank M.
