Sadly the time has come up to put my car up for sale on M5Board. Up for sale I have a 2009 BMW M5 fully loaded with every single option available from the factory. I will list all of the options of this car down below so scroll down to see the option list. The first owner of this car was the manager at Long Beach BMW, and he barely drove this car because he dallied his 3 series. I got this car when it had 24,XXX miles on, as of now it has 26,XXX miles. I barely stepped my foot in this car because I drive a Mercedes-Benz C250 which I commute to work and back home. I am a true car enthusiast, so I have always pampered the car, never tracked it, abused it or even launched the car. The car has never had any accidents, and holds a extremely clean Carfax report. The car has been detailed once a month, and regularly washed one every two weeks. This M5 with it's exterior and interior color is truly limited. It is nearly impossible to find an M5 like this for it's year, condition, exterior color, interior color and mileage in California and it's surrounding states. The car has the SMG-transmission. I have installed the Eisenmann Race exhaust system with oval tips which I ordered from Germany for $3597. The car also has 3M ceramic-tinted windows (medium). I have reprogrammed the car to the Euro SMG which makes the car shift noticeably faster/smoother and also gives you the ability to launch at 4,000 RPM instead of 1,500 RPM (Done at EAS/ European Auto Source in Anahiem, CA). The car also has White WeissLicht LED Angel Eyes and the WeissLicht LED License Plate. The wheels were powder-coated gloss black and also I installed the OEM M-Performance Black kidney grilles and black side grilles along with the //M5 badge/emblem in gloss black which was all done at Platinum Motorsport in Los Angeles, CA. The car has brand new Michellin Pilot Sport tires (still in new condition) when I brought it from Long Beach BMW back in December, 2013. Other than that the car is stock with absolutely no modifications to the engine. The car is in immaculate condition/ extremely mint condition inside and out (you won't find an M5 this clean with this color and options). I am selling the car with these mods, and I will not be parting anything out. Whoever buys this car is a //M enthusiast and knows why this car is worth this price. This car is currently being financed by BMW Financial services. This car was my true pride and joy and I hate to post this car up for sale.

This isn't for an "ordinary person", I don't care if you can find another M5 for less. I am in no rush in selling this car; vehicle is located in Los Angeles, CA.

Five reasons to love, or hate, the culture of German cars

Thu, Mar 5 2015

A few months back, we took a 500-foot view of the culture of American cars, dissecting prides and prejudices on our way to the conclusion that automotive allegiances can be simultaneously embraced and derided. We had so much fun with the narrative that we decided to do it again, this time taking a look at Germany and its world-renowned lineup of automakers, including the likes of Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen, among others. Join us below as we discuss the points and counterpoints that make or have made the German auto industry what it is today. And remember, Germany did pretty much invent the automobile, after all... The V12 Engine If America is known for the proliferation of the V8 engine, an argument could be made that Germany owns the V12. Yes, of course, other companies have created V12 engines – Ferrari, Jaguar and Lamborghini immediately come to mind – but the big 12-cylinder powerplants from BMW and Mercedes-Benz, in particular, have proven to be some of the most effortless, luxurious and downright over-built engines the world has ever seen. These days, having 12 cylinders is more a case of wretched excess than ever before, and yet, you can still stroll into your local BMW or Mercedes dealership and get a brand-new 760i, S600 or even an over-the-top G65 AMG, efficiency be damned. Best of all, since the majority of these German powerhouses depreciate as fast as an anchor sinks, nearly any auto enthusiast who dreams of a dozen cylinders can satisfy their carnal desires. Current Star: 2016 Mercedes-Maybach S600 View 28 Photos Diesel Engines Remember how we talked about those glorious V12 engines? Well, you can even get one from Audi that runs on diesel. If your compression-ignition fantasies err more on the side of fuel savings, that's no problem, either. Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Volkswagen have got you covered, with engines starting as small as 800 cubic centimeters (Smart Fortwo). If you want something a little more practical, it's hard to argue with a VW Golf TDI, which will provide plenty of space for you and three of your best friends, plus a fair bit of luggage, all while returning 50-ish miles per gallon. For the purposes of this discussion, we'd rather focus on the asinine levels of torque provided by Germany's high-end diesel engines than the lower-end fuel sippers.

BMW debuts 435i ZHP edition coupe [UPDATE]

Thu, May 21 2015

Performance enthusiasts enamored of the BMW 4 Series but not quite ready to step up to the M4 will be excited at the arrival of the new ZHP edition. Reviving a code last seen on a package for the E46 series a decade ago, the 2016 BMW 435i ZHP Edition boasts a series of performance upgrades aimed not only at "improved optics and aerodynamics; it is also notably quicker with more precise handling." The special 4 Series packs a series of BMW M Performance accessories to give it a more aggressive attitude, including a new Track Handling Package, M Sport Package, limited slip differential and a range of M Performance parts. The Track Handling Package alone includes 18-inch alloys, M Sport Brakes with four-piston calipers up front and two pistons in the back and incorporates the Active M Suspension with variable dampers and steering. With revised software and a new air intake, the M Performance Engine Kit kicks in an extra 35 horsepower for a total of 335 hp and either 32 more pound-feet (with the automatic transmission) for a total of 332 lb-ft or a 17-lb-ft boost (with the manual) for a total of 317 lb-ft. That's enough to drop 0.2 seconds off the 435i's 0-60 time and 0.5 seconds off the run from 50 miles per hour to 75. BMW also promises better accelerator response and engine note. There's a sport exhaust that sheds 8.8 pounds of weight, a full carbon-fiber aero kit and visual enhancements inside, out and under the hood. The German automaker will only be offering 100 examples of the enhanced coupe starting in July, with pricing to be announced closer to the launch date. UPDATE: Of course, if you miss out on one of these special editions, you can always spec out your own from the M catalog with parts installed at BMW's Vehicle Distribution Center. And, as BMW points out in correspondence with Autoblog, you could even order one up with all-wheel drive and in convertible or four-door Gran Coupe body-styles if that's more your pace. BMW patents strange three-cylinder pushrod engines, perhaps for cruiser motorcycle

Thu, Mar 12 2015

For decades BMW's motorcycles were easily identified by the two opposed cylinders sticking out of each side of the bike. While you can still find this layout on some of its products, these days the company also uses a variety of other layouts, depending on the model line. Based on European patents, there might even be a Bimmer in the ranks eventually with an absolutely bizarre-looking W3 configuration. BMW actually has two separate patents on these W3 designs, and both of them have the goal of cramming three cylinders into the space of a traditional V-twin. The first splays the cylinder out into a fan shape with pushrods operating the valves. The description submitted to the World Intellectual Property Organization describes the solution as, "The embodiment according to the invention represents an as of yet unknown type of W-3 reciprocating piston internal combustion engine having cylinder angles which can be largely freely sized." The other solution is more of a modification to the traditional V-twin. Two of the cylinders share a crankpin, but the third has its own and is positioned inside the angle of the V. It's a very odd-looking engine. With BMW's assertion that these designs are meant to fit in place of a traditional V-twin, Jalopnik speculates that they could be for a future cruiser from the company, and that would make sense. While brand offers a line of sport tourers with the K1600 line, it doesn't have something more classic to take on the likes of the Ducati Diavel. Creating such a weird engine would probably grab early interest from riders.
