Immaculate Arizona M5 with low miles and pretty much every option available, 2 owners and clean autocheck scoring in above-average condition, zero accidents. I'll attempt to go over the car as thoroughly as possible, but please do not hesitate to ask any questions or come check out the car in person, it's located about an hour West of Chicago in Saint Charles, IL. One of the most important features about this M5 is the completely transferable free maintenance package that pays for all scheduled maintenance- including oil changes- all the way to 100,000 miles at BMW dealerships. It was last serviced at Patrick BMW in Schaumburg, IL. And it's INCLUDED with the sale.

Exterior:

Rare Alpine white in very nearly mint condition. The paint is very, very shiny no fading whatsoever and in immaculate condition and also has a full front 3M clear bra. I've documented the two known blemishes at the bottom of the photos. One is behind the right rear wheel, the second is on the right front fender near the side mirror. In very, very good condition. Zero chips or scratches in any of the glass, zero dents or dings anywhere. None. The wheels are also nearly mint, no peeling or fading or chipping or corroding. Two of the wheels actually are mint, the other two have two very minor curb rubs each and I have documented these as well. The tires are all matching (Bridgestone Potenza) and have plenty of tread left. The same goes for pads and rotors front and rear. The rear window and all side windows are also tinted and the tint is in perfect condition. I'm not sure what percent since they were tinted by the previous owner, but, they seem darker than 35%, so I would have to guess 20%.

Interior:

Black on light tan Merino leather with black suede headliner. The leather is flawless with no blemishes whatsoever. And the leather is genuinely everywhere; covering the dash and the doors top to bottom, even the inside of the pockets in the doors are lined with leather. This is one of the best options for the car due to being so supple and it simply wears much, much better than the standard leather that tends to crease and become shiny and over-all just look worn. And it replaces so much of what would normally just be plastic trim. All switchgear and instruments work exactly as they should and show virtually zero wear. You can see in the picture showing the left side steering wheel controls that there is slight wear to the soft rubber coating just below the buttons. Other than that, mint condition.

Mechanical:

There are zero mechanical issues with this car, it has been under warranty it's entire life, therefore it has been regularly inspected. The motor starts, idles, revs and runs exactly as it should. The transmission shifts and behaves exactly as it should, as do all of the SMG settings. The car tracks straight and seems to have a perfect alignment, the tires also show no signs of abnormal wear. The power steering shows no signs of abnormal function and is quiet and responsive. All suspension components and bushings are in perfect working order and the ride is controlled and behaves exactly as it should. All fluids appear to smell and look like they should, and are at proper levels, there appear to be zero leaks anywhere. The brakes behave exactly as they should, though due to not being driven for a couple weeks the rotors show some rust that will go away shortly after being driven again. There are zero malfunction lights anywhere.

Features:

There are MANY features and options on this car, almost every option available. There are obvious features for a car that was some $100k new, so I'll stick to the less obvious ones starting with options; heated steering wheel (also power tilt and telescope), Comfort Access (includes smart key that recognizes when the key is in proximity and allows the doors to be unlocked and the car started without taking the key out of your pocket/bag/purse), soft close automatic doors, power rear sunshade and manual side sunshades, heated rear seats, 'M' multifunction front seats with active width adjustment (adjustable bolsters that respond to steering input and hold you in place during cornering, also adjustable knee support, adjust the seat back and shoulder bolsters separately, power adjustable active headrest, 4-way lumbar support and memory settings for seat position for both seats and mirrors and steering wheel for driver's seat), wood trim, head-up display, SIRIUS satellite radio (needs subscription), iPod and USB adapter located in center console, enhanced premium sound and full Merino leather with alcantara headliner. Totaling over $11,000 in options. Other features include adjustable horsepower, throttle response, transmission response, electronic damping and stability control, limited slip rear differential, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, navigation, bluetooth, 6 CD changer, BMW iDrive, sunroof, power folding mirrors, etc.

Overview:

If you're looking for an M5 I don't think you'll find a better one than this, taking into consideration the very nearly mint condition inside and out, the free maintenance package for 60k more miles, the extensive list of options and the rare color. Please let me know if you would like any additional pictures or if you have any questions at all. This car is also for sale locally, the auction may be terminated before the end if it sells locally.

I have experience shipping vehicles nationwide, so let me know if you need assistance with shipping, I would be happy to help. Though the full cost of shipping is at the buyer's expense.

I've done my best to describe the car as accurately as possible, but it is still a used car being sold AS-IS without any warranty so please ask any questions you may have before bidding or buying-it-now. Thank you!

BMW X2 spied looking swirly

Fri, Nov 6 2015

Generally, automakers really hate spy photos. They go to great lengths to disguise their cars, while engineers will do their damnedest to get away from spy shooters (or, you know, they just give them the bird). BMW, though, just doesn't seem to care about spies. That's the only reason to explain why our spy photographers were able to capture yet another X2 crossover undergoing testing on the sunny, autumnal German roads. Judging by the number plates, this is a different vehicle than the last couple of X2s we've spied, although it's camouflaged almost identically to last month's X2. This car does appear to have larger, sportier wheels than that blue prototype, although the similar bumpers has us thinking it's merely an optional wheel rather than the an M Sport model. Beyond that, though, there's not a lot to differentiate this X2 from previous sightings. Our spies continue to report that the X2 will echo the powertrain/drivetrain arrangement of the upcoming X1. It'll ride on that car's front-drive architecture, although like the X1, all-wheel drive will be optional in Europe and standard here in the US. The engine lineup, meanwhile, should include turbocharged triples, fours, and sixes, in both gas and diesel varieties. Here in the US, we'd expect the 28i and its 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder, at the very least. Considering the lifestyle angle of the X2, a more powerful 35i model would likely be a natural here in the US, but that's just conjecture. Have a look at the spy shots up at the top of the page. BMW i5 returns as next rumored i Project vehicle

Thu, Sep 17 2015

Hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle enthusiasts may want to give each other some high-fives when they hear the latest news about BMW's reputed i5. The German automaker has been rumored to be on the verge of expanding its i brand beyond its i3 battery-electric and i8 plug-in hybrid cars for a long while. The latest rumors say that BMW could be working on a hydrogen-powered i5 crossover. BMW is in the "final stages of consideration" of expanding the sub-brand, Bloomberg News says, citing comments BMW executive Ian Robertson made this week at the Frankfurt Motor Show. There may be more light-weighting efforts, and an alternative powertrain is sure to be in order, but there are few details beyond that. BMW of North America spokeswoman Rebecca Kiehne declined to comment to AutoblogGreen. Since 2013, BMW has worked with Toyota on hydrogen fuel-cell drivetrains and might further expand that relationship, MarketWatch says, citing BMW financial chief Friedrich Eichiner. The two automakers have already worked together on a prototype BMW 5 Series sedan with a hydrogen-powered engine. That car was unveiled this summer. Earlier this year, we heard reports about an i5 that would actually be a hybrid-electric vehicle of sorts, and an extremely powerful one. That rumored vehicle – again some sort of modified 5 Series – would actually contain one gas-powered engine and two electric motors, all combining for more than 540 horsepower. If these latest rumors turn out to be true, they would mark a change in things, but we won't be surprise if we hear yet another version of what the i5 will be before it's all said and done.

Car designer Frank Stephenson wants to show you something ... smaller

Sat, Dec 17 2022

Influential car designer Frank Stephenson has often thought small. Now he’s thinking smaller. Throughout the past three decades, he has shaped — literally — some of the most indelible designs in automotive history: the modern Mini, the Ferrari FXX track star, the Maserati Gran Sport, a range of stunning McLarens and down to the funky 21st-century version of the Fiat 500. Now heÂ’s turned his pen to fashioning watches. His Cosmos analog piece, made to mirror “a black hole in space” and detailed “with an orange pinstripe which simulates the supernova glow of a neutron star,” features a Japan-built quartz movement and was created in concert with the Time Concepts company. “ItÂ’s the age-old adage ‘car people are watch people,Â’ so it was a natural step for me to get creative with timepieces too,” Stephenson said in a statement. “The collection showcases the love I have for exceptional and emotionally charged design, just like what is required in designing world class cars.” While Stephenson, who is 64, may be best known publicly for his vision of “affordable style” with the Mini and the Fiat, his ethos also translated to the utilitarian. In the case of BMW in the mid-1990s, the company was hustling to market an SUV, and turned to him for inspiration. His team had six months to complete the project. The result was the high-end X5, which Stephenson sketched during a two-hour flight. In 2018, Stephenson established the independent design company, Frank Stephenson Design, based in London.
