2006 Bmw M5,e60, 20" Wheels, Bc Coilovers, Rpi, Afe, Exhaust V10 Smg 39k Miles on 2040-cars
Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States
I have decided to sell my M5, as the time has come to purchase a bigger home for my family. The car is a 2006 BMW M5, with an amazing low mileage of just 39,334! I haven't had any issues with this car since I've purchased it! I jumped the gun when I titled it in Oklahoma, and did so before having the vehicle, so the mileage indicates that it is "not actual", however it is the actual mileage and I am awaiting the documentation for OTC.
The vehicle has a rebuilt title that was issued back in 2007. The M5 was in a minor accident and in 2007, shops didn't have the equipment to repair the E60 M cars, so it was deemed a total loss. Once the Equipment was available, the M5 was repaired, certified by the state and insurance company, and issued a rebuilt title. You would never know it looking at it... its in AMAZING condition. This car is a BEAST. Pumping out 507hp, this car is fast.... WAY FAST! The SMG transmission shifts flawlessly, and the paddle shifters make it easy to keep both hands on the steering wheel while shifting through the gears. The car was 100% stock when I purchased it. I wanted to compliment the Alpine White exterior color by adding a few goodies. This M5 sits on a set of perfect fitting Giovanna 20" Black wheels. The BC Racing Coil Over Suspension System lowers the car to an amazing stance and keeps the car planted around corners and turns! The "EDC Malfunction" comes over the idrive screen when the vehicle is started because of the Coil Over System, however, this error can be coded out by a BMW dealership or BMW specialist mechanic. It doesn't bother me that it pops up, so I never got it coded out. Also, the Factory suspension will be included with the car and they can always be re-installed and the EDC functions will work again with no error message. The coilover system was just installed a few weeks ago, and still have the new suspension noise. The shop that did the alignment said it should go away after the suspension components "settle". They only make make noise turning at low speeds... like when you turn into a Walmart parking space. The Exhaust system sounds like a Ferrari! The tone of the S85 V-10 is always music to the ears, but in this case, its better than music! I get compliments on the sound of the car non-stop! A Carbon Fiber lip splitter was added to the front and rear bumpers and has held up great. The Front Splitter has a small crack on the bottom center where it encountered a minor curb check.. you can see it in the picture of the front end of the car. Sticking to ther Carbon Fiber theme, the chrome kidney grills were replaced in favor of Carbon Fiber Grills, ans the factory fender vents were also removed in favor of Carbon Fiber vents. More Carbon Fiber was added to the "A' and "B" Pillars for more exterior appeal. I have a Carbon Fiber Rear window splitter that attaches to the back window at the top, however it doesn't fit to my liking. It fits, just not to my standards... it will be included with the car as well. I am SUPER anal with this car. I can't speak for the previous owner, but this car NEVER gets driven in the rain... EVER! It gets washed weekly, detailed monthly, and it has been a weekend driver for me since I've owned it. It has always been kept in my clean shop and has always had a battery tender on it when not driven. The interior is a 9 out of 10! Not a scuff, scratch, tear, smell.. nothing! The floor mats aren't in the best condition. The Seats, Dash, Door panels, headliner... everything inside is PERFECT!! The Exterior is probably a 9 out of 10 too! The only thing wrong on the outside is the front windshield molding needs replaced. I have a brand new one from BMW sitting here in the plastic... just hasn't been installed yet. Added to the M5, is a Viper 5704 Security/Remote Start system. The Remote Start side of the system utilizes one of the key fobs, so I only have ONE in hand. The other is hidden in the car. It can be removed and used as normal if you wish to remove it. The Viper alarm has a 2-way LCD remote, Shock Sensor, Glass Break Sensor, and controls all 4 windows. If they are down, they will all go up when you arm the system. Under the Hood additions include AFE inverted High-flow Air Filters, and a ///M Oil Cap. I had a HUGE custom Oil Cooler installed because the factory coolers are notorious for leaking and heat soak. Being in Oklahoma, I felt it was a much needed upgrade and it has truly paid off! Temps stay nice and low now! I have a brand new RPI crank pulley which is said to add 15whp. Its brand new in the box... I never got it installed. It will be included with the car. Included with the car (NOT installed): Factory Suspension Factory Wheels RPI Crank Pulley Front Windshield Weather Strip Molding BMW Carbon Fiber/White Emblems for Hood & Trunk New Floor Mats (not M mats) **** I have this car listed for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction if/when it sells. I will consider all reasonable offers, but please do not low ball me. If you would like additional pictures or information, please send me a message... include your phone number if you would like a call/text. Title is in Hand, Free and Clear.. NO LIEN!! Shipping and transportation will be up to the buyer. I will assist in shipping, but the booking and shipping fees are not included in the auction.. the buyer must set up shipping. |

BMW offers xDrive on 2015 2 Series
Fri, 06 Jun 2014BMW has released its mile-long list of model changes for 2015. It's mostly comprised of tiny tweaks to options packages, pricing or trim colors, but there are a few interesting new features in there too. One thing all buyers will notice is that as of July 1, the company's destination charge increases by $25, to $950 for all of its models.
The 2 Series gets two really useful upgrades for 2015. We already knew that BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system would be offered on the M235i this summer. However, it won't be the only 2 capable of spinning all four wheels. The 228i model will also be available with the system for $34,850 (after destination), $1,800 more than the standard model.
The other big addition brings a sportier ride to the 228i (with or without xDrive) for those who don't want to spring for the M235i. BMW is adding a Track Handling Package (pictured above) that lowers the suspension 10mm and includes the Adaptive M Suspension, Variable Sport Steering, M Sport Brakes and 18-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. It's available on manual or automatic models at $1,600 for cars ordered with the M Sport or Sport Line trims or $2,200 without it.
Autoblog Minute: UAW and FCA avoid strike, Clarkson teases new show
Fri, Oct 9 2015FCA avoids a worker strike, a former Top Gear host teases us with a picture from Amazon's new car show, and Toyota predicts autonomous cars by 2020. Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] FCA avoids a worker strike, a former Top Gear host teases us with a picture from Amazon's new car show, and Toyota predicts autonomous cars by 2020. I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. A UAW strike of FCA was avoided thanks to a zero-hour tentative agreement reached this week. Worker concerns that were renegotiated in the new [00:00:30] deal include adjustments to the two-tier wage scale, health care costs, and production outsourcing. Now check-in with Autoblog as we update our reports on this evolving story. Shooting began on Amazon Prime's new automotive show starring the former Top Gear crew. That's Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. Now Clarkson threw out a tweet from day one of filming on location at Algarve Motor Park in Portugal. The picture features the show's [00:01:00] three stars and crew posing with the holy trinity of hyper cars. That's a McLaren P1, a Ferrari LaFerrari, and a Porsche 918 Spyder. This Prime show is being called Gear Knobs though the name is unofficial. Now if a tweet is any indication of what we can expect, who cares what it's called this is gonna be awesome. (Eds Note: Clarkson tweeted Friday that the show will not be called Gear Knobs.) Toyota predicts drivers could be obsolete on highways as early as 2020, with technology dubbed the Toyota Highway Teammate or THT. Toyota is using a modified [00:01:30] Lexus GS to show what this is capable of. THT is already able to create a driverless freeway car that's capable of changing lanes, making passes and taking curves. Plus, it can keep safe distances from other vehicles. Toyota is currently testing this on Tokyo's Shuto Expressway. Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to check out my full recap this Saturday. And I'll have some added insight on the BMW M4 GTS. For Autoblog, I'm Greg Migliore. [00:02:00] Show Logo Autoblog Minute is a short-form video news series reporting on all things automotive. Each segment offers a quick and clear picture of what's happening in the automotive industry from the perspective of Autoblog's expert editorial staff, auto executives, and industry professionals.
Automakers' sound systems: Crank it, don't yank it
Thu, Jun 21 2018Years ago, one of the first things most music lovers did after buying a new vehicle was drive to an aftermarket stereo shop to get the crappy stock components swapped for better gear. And you'd typically get not only better sound but also more bang (and boom) for your buck. But in the past decade or so, the overall quality of OEM audio has dramatically increased, while car electronics became more complex, removing the incentive for most new vehicle owners — and all but the most hardcore DIYer — to start from scratch. In 2010, I did a comparison of the average costs for OEM electronics vs. similar offerings from the aftermarket, and back then automakers' stock premium systems were by far the best bargain — and are probably an even better value now. The premium 14-speaker, 1,200-watt JBL system in the all-new 2019 Toyota Avalon is a prime example of this trend. It's standard on the top two Limited and Touring trims and is available as a $680 audio upgrade on the XLE and XSE. I doubt you can even buy 14 speakers and 1,200 watts of amplification from the aftermarket for 700 bucks, much less have it all installed. And because the system is bundled with Toyota's Entune infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and a surround-view camera, removing the head unit means you would likely lose these features. Another advantage of OEMs and their audio partners is they can design the car around the audio system. In the past, automakers would typically place speakers where convenient for packaging, not for optimal sound reproduction, and audio engineers were forced to compromise. But as with the Avalon's premium JBL audio system, this is starting to change. At a recent behind-the-scenes peek for media into the process of developing the system, Toyota and Harman engineers delved into the minutia of sealing the inner panel of the front doors to create an enclosure for 6x8-inch woofers, making space in the pillars for JBL horn tweeters and extensively measuring the acoustic properties of the interior to tune the sound to the space. I'm met some creative and skilled car stereo installers, but none with a degree in psychoacoustics. The system is also the first to feature Quantum Logic Surround that creates a multi-channel listening experience from two-channel sources. And it includes Harman's Clari-Fi processing that "rebuilds key details lost" in compressed audio formats used by streaming music services and MP3s.
