Catalytic converter replaced by bmw a few months ago under federal warranty. Approx 15k repair.

PURCHASED FROM BOB SMITH BMW IN LOS ANGELES. KEPT IN LA UNTIL END OF 2011.

Clutch and oil cooler replaced by BMW under warranty. Approx 10k repair.
Alternator and battery replaced by BMW this year. Approx $1400.
Front brakes done this year.
Cilajet protection warranty for exterior.
Black center grill piece. Looks very sharp compare to chrome.
BMWAux plugin installed, for some reason it didn't come with the 2006 model. Not sure about the later models.

Saphire black exterior with black premium leather interior. Rare aluminum interior trim which is far superior over wood-grain. Approx 69,800 miles which is low for this year vehicle. This car is fully loaded with heads up hologram display, suede headliner, active seats which grip on turns, etc. Many people claim fully loaded when it's not the case. 500 horse power! Button turns it down to 400. SMG transmission is so responsive like a Ferrari. Paddle shift or put into drive / fully automatic. There is no chance any stick shift could keep up. This model I don't believe they made stick in America.

Responsible ownership, driven hard as the M was made for but never raced on the track or abused. Truly pampered, this car is my baby. I'm the second owner, bought it at 19,000 miles. I purchased the vehicle as a certified pre-owned from the dealership and in this rare case I know the first owner who I'd put you in touch with upon request. He is a friend of Matt Smith of Bob Smith BMW who would also be happy to speak with you to verify this. It's a long story which I will explain. This car hasn't been tossed around and he is very responsible adult, traded it in absolutely cherry.

Price just reduced again. Originally I listed in the mid 30s which was unrealistic, I sat it out for awhile and am ready to make a deal. Feel free to have it inspected at BMW. Minor paint work needed for absolute perfection as shown in pictures, this is reflected into the price. I will provide all paperwork for the replacement work. Check autotrader for the clean carfax or VIN.

Respectfully, I am not willing to negotiate / communicate via email and will not respond. Please call my cell 312.415.9565 if you have questions or would like to set an appointment for a showing. First to get the money into my account takes it. Pink slip ready to go.

Toyota passes BMW as most valuable car brand

Tue, 21 May 2013

An annual market study of the strongest brands across various industries has seen Toyota leapfrog BMW as the world's most valuable automotive brand. Toyota's 2013 brand value rose to $24.5 billion, up 12 percent versus 2012 numbers according to market research company Millward Brown's BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands list. BMW's value fell slightly; down by 2 percent to a total of $24 billion.
Mercedes-Benz finished in third place in the automotive category, up 11 percent from 2012 for a valuation of $18 billion. Honda ($12.4 billion, down 2 percent) and Nissan ($10.2 billion, up 3 percent) rounded out the top five for the category. Volkswagen was the only other auto brand that finished in the top 100 overall, in 100th place. Audi made the greatest percentage gain over 2012, up 18 percent to $5.5 billion, but finished outside of the top 100.
Technology companies dominated the overall list, with Apple, Google and IBM ranking one through three. Couture brand Prada was 2013's biggest gainer, rising by 63 percent over 2012.

BMW, Mini to offer Amazon Alexa in all models beginning next year

Fri, Sep 29 2017

Voice recognition has been available in cars for years now, but the technology has improved, and found its way into our pockets and our homes. With applications like Siri and gadgets like the Amazon Echo essentially acting as digital personal assistants, the ways we interact with technology through our voice have advanced significantly in recent years. BMW plans to take advantage of the evolved voice technology, and will offer Amazon Alexa in every BMW and Mini model beginning in the middle of 2018. Drivers will be able to use the usual Alexa features (or "skills" in Amazon speak) to get the latest news and weather, provide entertainment, or remotely control their smart home gadgets. Alexa will also perform car-specific duties, such as navigation or locating nearby businesses. Users can also check on movie times, request specific playlists or even order products from Amazon through Alexa. View 5 Photos It's the logical next step for BMW, which has allowed owners to check the status or control features of their car through Alexa's BMW Connected skill since last year. Users won't need to bring their smartphone along for the Alexa to work, as BMW and Mini models will be equipped with their own SIM cards. Alexa will be available in cars in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany. As our friends at Engadget point out, the timing is important, as Amazon risked being left behind by the likes of Apple and Google, which offer their technology in vehicles via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Amazon would do well to expand access beyond the three markets in-car Alexa will launch in, for exactly the same reason. Check out the video above for how BMW envisions users interacting with Alexa. We really hope some lucky M4 owner does, in fact, actually order a pizza while drifting on the deck of an aircraft carrier. That's a future we want to live in. BMW X4 opens up alongside its boxier brother

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

It doesn't seem so long ago that BMW (not to mention Audi, Volvo and a handful of other European automakers) weren't in the crossover market. But it's been over a decade since BMW began producing the first-gen X5, and in the fourteen years since, the Bavarian automaker has steadily expanded its portfolio to include the X1, X3 and X6.
The next to join the family will be the X4, which is essentially to the X3 what the X6 is to the X5. That is to say, basically the same vehicle, only with an (arguably) more stylish but less utile roofline. Previewed in concept form at the Shanghai Auto Show half a year ago, the X4 has been snapped by our plucky paparazzi in the past, but this is the first time we've seen inside.
Not only that, but the prototype in question was spotted next to the current X3 on which it is based, which gives us ample opportunity to see the differences between them. Of course, that still primarily comes down to the slantback profile, because otherwise, the two are essentially the same inside and out. Or at least they will be: many of the differences between the two are expected to port over to the X3 when it's refreshed next year, including some subtle interior upgrades - just not the roofline.
