For sale is a well maintained, lower mile, and quite clean example of a late model E39 M5. This is a close friends car that I helped him acquire, and he has asked for me to move it for him to make way for a new toy. I told him he'll regret it, to which his simple response was "I know".

Currently the car is with me in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.

The car is LeMans Blue with the two tone blue/black interior, sitting with 87,2xx miles. She was purchased in November 2012 from an older gentleman who drove the car from his home in New Jersey to his home in the Miami area multiple times a year, so the majority of the mileage is truly highway cruising. The biggest plus was the clutch had been replaced at 75K miles by the previous owner, and though that's the one service record I didn't get from him (he did it at an indy shop instead of the dealer, and lost this receipt), I knew it was the truth right when I drove the car; clutch engagement is super crisp and drives exactly as a fresh one should.

The car makes no vanos noises, non of that secondary carbon....just a smooth running powerful motor that one would expect especially from a 2003

I'm a professional concours level detailer on the side and I brought this paint back to life when he got the car, and have again refreshed it for the next owner (thankfully a lot less work this time around  ). Needless to say, you'll be hard pressed to find a better looking LMB M5!

The interior is no less minty than the outside. The seats have minimal wear on the side bolsters, and truly only the steering and shift knob show the age of the car.

I had the wheels refinished when he acquired the car, so they are absolutely minty and are shod in tires with 7-8/32nds of tread depth. No curbs, not even any chips honestly.

The only damage other than expected rock chips and the occasional ding is on the front bumper; he was parking and got the front end just a bit too far into the overly tall curb, which cracked the lowest portion of the front bumper on the passenger side, and took the underplastic and exterior temperature sensor with it. Hard to notice unless you have the car on a lift.

VIN: WBSDE93473CF92632

Here's a list of many of the maintenance stuffs done to the car that I have records for:
89k-Fuel Pump changed
86K-Oil changed

82K-Oil changed
80K-Fan Clutch Replaced
78K-Front wheel replaced, oil filter canister mounts replaced, oil changed
74K-Oil changed
67K-Front pads and rotors, thermostat, sunroof cassette assembly, front thrust arm bushings, oil changed

The car throws an intermittent P1118 code for dirty MAF sensor.  I cleaned the sensors and the light went away, but they need cleaning again (very simple DIY job) since the SES is currently on.

Modifications wise, the car only has very minor things:
-BnB Axle Back Mufflers (here is a sound clip from youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28rX-gidi5o)
-DICE MediaBridge Bluetooth

2018 Kia Stinger vs. other luxury hatchbacks compared by the numbers

Sat, Nov 18 2017

Ten years ago, if you had told us that one of the many new luxury segments to develop would be sedan-style hatchbacks, we'd have said you'd lost your mind. And yet, here we are today with not one, but four cars competing in just such a niche upscale segment: The Kia Stinger, Buick Regal Sportback, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo and Audi A5. That's just in one size and price bracket. Two of the manufacturers listed here make larger versions of each luxury hatchback. We aren't entirely sure how it happened, but we're not going to complain, because we love the idea of a car with almost no compromise: luxury features, sporty performance, and plenty of practicality. Try Autoblog' s Car Finder to search for your next new vehicle. One of the reasons we're taking a look at these cars right now is that Kia has recently released pricing for its entry in the segment, the Stinger and Stinger GT. Buick wasn't far behind with the Regal Sportback and Regal GS, nor was Audi with the A5 and S5. So it seemed like an appropriate moment to look at the numbers and see which come out ahead or behind, with victors in each category highlighted with bold and underlined text. What we found when comparing these cars' statistics is that each one has a clear area of expertise. For performance, it's hard to beat the four-cylinder Kia Stinger and the V6 Stinger GT. The four-banger has the most horsepower of the four cars, and is just behind on torque. The V6 has the most power and torque among the six-cylinder versions. The Stingers are also the second lightest of the group when equipped with rear-wheel drive, though they fall to third with all-wheel drive. Space is a split between the Buick Regals and BMW 3 Series Gran Turismos. The Buicks have the most cargo space with the rear seats up or folded by a significant margin. The BMW on the other hand generally offers more space for passengers. It's up to you what's most important. Compare these and other potential new vehicle purchases using our tool. When it comes to cost, nothing can beat the four-cylinder Regal's base price of under $26,000. But if a V6 is what you're after, the Stinger GT is the cheapest. Neither matches the Audi A5 and S5 for fuel economy, though. Both Audis have the highest numbers for city, highway, and combined EPA estimates. Related Video:

A Tasty Bit Of Old School For The New School
Against the backdrop of fervent hand-wringing from brand purists, BMW is on the cusp of finally offering front-wheel-drive vehicles. While that's a shock to the constitution, many are pointing to the company's fine-handling Mini offerings as an article of faith that it can get this drivetrain paradigm shift right. That may be true, but there's an even more important lesson that Mini has taught the decision-makers in Munich: how to make real money on small cars.
Before Mini came along, BMW - along with seemingly every other premium European automaker - never really figured out how to coax big dollars out of American wallets without developing cars that had large footprints, at least those other than sports cars. While the automaker really got rolling in America on the strength of little bantamweights like the 2002, it veered away from small cars sometime in the '80s. BMW subsequently crashed and burned with the cut-and-shut 318ti built off its E36 3 Series and, good as it is, the 1 Series hasn't given the company meaty volume or profits, either. Among other brands, the Audi A3 has never rung up big numbers, and the less said about the painful sales figures of the Volvo C30, the better. But Mini has beat the odds, blazing a more affordable and evidently compelling trail. As of late, the company's Countryman softroader has been a massive hit worldwide. No surprise then that BMW has reconsidered bringing over its smallest softroader, the X1, to the US.

BMW i8 with 500+ horsepower in the cards?

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

While BMW makes plenty of machinery to keep enthusiasts interested, its most enticing models are often based on more ordinary ones. That's what made the arrival of the i8 so captivating, emerging as the first stand-alone BMW sports coupe since the M1. But if its dual purpose - trying its best to both embrace the earth and traverse it rapidly - somehow left you disappointed, the next development could prove to fix that.
According to Automobile, BMW is working on a more potent i8S model. The hardcore version of the hybrid sports car would offer more power and a stiffened chassis to make it that much more aggressive. The Bavarian automaker is reportedly still evaluating two potential powertrain options: The first would pair a 2.0-liter twin-turbo four-cylinder good for 320 horsepower to an electric motor with another 204 hp. The second would use a 3.0-liter straight six with 480 hp and an electric motor with 109 hp. Both would be mated to a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission and an integrated starter motor packing an extra 27 hp.
Either way, we'd be looking at a combined output well in excess of 500 horsepower - far more than the existing i8's 228-hp turbo three and 129-hp electric motor - dropping the 0-62 time down from 4.1 seconds to an estimated 3.5. Couple that to a more advanced carbon chassis, wider tires and other goodies, and the i8 would be transformed into a far more capable performance machine than it already is.
