'02 with 140k, Black on black with wood trim.
Interior: 9.5/10 Barely any wear, no rips or cracks, super comfortable leather, has the extended leather option in great condition. Exterior: 7.5/10 Great looking black paint from 10 feet away, but closer inspection shows a few small rock chips on the hood. Still looks better than 140k miles! The tint is perfect, and the 19" wheels seem to fit the car very nicely. 275mm rubber all the way around. The Good: Mechanically very solid, quiet on startup, no SES lights or anything to be concerned about. I had some when I bought the car, but they all were fixed by simply going back to stock intakes from the Dinan intakes I previous had. Clutch grabs like new. Steering and suspension is responsive, comfortable, no rattles, squeaks, or vibrations. Starts up in the freezing cold as quickly and smoothly as when it's 80 degrees outside. Just completely trouble-free beast. I love it! Needs: I personally would like the front bumper replaced - the previous owner installed a crack into the lower passenger side, and there are plenty of rock chips. Currently needs trunk lid replaced or repaired due to a rust spot. A fellow forum member made sure the computer was working, I'm just not getting video displayed, so I need to clean off some contacts and trouble shoot. The Nav DVD player doesn't spool, so perhaps a good excuse to upgrade to the Mk IV! The wheels will need refinishing if you're going for factory perfect, but they're straight! Will include for +$800. These are not included in the buy it now price! BMW looking to save billions with cost cuts
Wed, 18 Jun 2014BMW is planning a fairly extensive overhaul in a bid to recoup some its annual costs, with CEO Norbert Reithofer (pictured above) aiming to save three to four billion euro ($4 to $5.4 billion) per year to help keep the company's profit margins between eight and 10 percent, while also maintaining investments in production expansion and new tech. BMW's profit margins sat at 9.4 percent in 2013.
According to Automotive News Europe, Reithofer is none too pleased about costs at Mini and on the 1 Series, although neither AN nor its source story, from Germany's Manager Magazin, elaborate on what steps could be taken to improve losses on either project. That makes it hard to figure out just where the fat will be trimmed from.
What may happen, though, is that BMW attempts to trim 100 million euros ($135 million) from its German labor costs each year; a solution hinted at a few weeks ago by Germany newspaper Muenchner Merkur. While a dramatic cost reduction, 100 million euros still doesn't begin to even approach the savings envisioned by Reithofer.

Are you the 2016 BMW M2?
Wed, 21 May 2014From the looks of these spy shots, BMW is back testing the hotter version of the M235i, the M2. We first brought you pictures of the lightly disguised coupe a few weeks back. While those original shots were on the road, it would seem that BMW has transitioned its testing to the Nürburgring.
Here, we get a better look at the M2 prototype's M-spec wheels. This particular car is missing the traditional quadruple exhausts that serve as an easy identifier for BMW M products, although our spies report that the tips, along with a more assertive front fascia, will arrive when the M2 makes its production debut.
We can't yet confirm any powertrain details, but previous rumors had the M2 getting its go from a tuned version of the brand's N55 turbocharged inline-six. Take a look up top for this latest round of spy photos of the BMW M2.
