Check out this Awesome Le Mans Blue E39 M5! This car is a joy to drive and will make you grin ear to ear every time you step on the gas pedal!  The E39 M5, in my opinion is the best driving and most raw BMW you can get your hands on.  This car has power to spare and has room for five.  The six speed manual shifts silky smooth and the clutch feels perfect.  The exhaust sounds amazing!! I absolutely love this car and am only selling because I have too much going on to give it the attention it needs.  I bought this car 2 years ago with plans on making it a perfect, all stock show car.  As it sits, this car is not a garage queen and I will try to be as descriptive as possible regarding the condition.

The good:
Runs perfectly, Very fast and powerful
Have receipts in hand for over $2500, had engine completely gone through and inspected, vanos system replaced along with the rod bearings
Seats and carpet are in great shape
No cracks in dash
AC blows COLD
Tires have plenty of tread on them (50% or more)
Clean title in hand

The Bad:
All cosmetic does not effect the overall condition and I will try to point out any defect that I can see or find.
The clear coat on the roof and trunk lid has some peeling and will need to be touched up or repainted.  (tried to get to show up in pictures)
Small scuff and crack on the lower driver's side bumper
Misc small scratches and dings on body  not very noticeable
the factory deck does not work due to an aftermarket  sound system that was removed before I purchased the car.  The head unit was in the trunk and the amp,cd changer, nav unit, and antenna booster are missing.
The front cup holders are broken (very common on these cars)
A couple of buttons on the climate control are broken
The rear view mirror and side view mirrors are clouding up
the E-brake cable is stretched and the E-brake barely works
Missing the M5 badge on the trunk
The exhaust was replaced with a quality stainless steel system that looks new but they opted not to put the dual tips on the car (See Pictures)

Once again, I'm trying to be as descriptive as possible on the condition of this car and am very critical of vehicles.  I truly love this car as I said before, I just have to thin out the herd and don't have the time to give this car the attention it deserves.  I do try to drive this car once a week and it still makes me feel like a teenager sneaking out with his dad's hot rod every time I start it up.

This car is being sold AS IS with no warranty or guarantees offered or implied.
Buyer is to make arrangements for shipping.

2013 BMW M6 Coupe

Wed, 12 Jun 2013

The Act And The Exclamation
The 2013 BMW M6 is a rolling obscenity - one that begins with the capital letter "F." It is both the act and the exclamation, the curse and the encouragement. It courts no logic. It is all want and no need, and it is unbecoming of the BMW roundel. Whereas the brand's products once strove to unite man and machine in a duet of blissful performance, the M6 seems built solely to stand between the driver and the road. You are very clearly in its way every second you're behind the wheel, slowing it down and generally being the Monday morning to its two-day trance festival. It's clear this car is very fast, but it has no interest in making you fast in the way that the M3 or even the M5 are wont to do.
But somehow, all that doesn't stop the car from stoking every last lick of lust in your gut. A 560-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 will do that for you.

This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?
