I am selling my m5 because I found a 2008 manual m5 and want to get rid of this . It's a well taken care of M fanatic owned car . It runs and drives great. Engine transmission shift and run perfect. Oil just changed and car gone through by Dp motor Werks in Virginia beach. No issues found. Non smoker car. No dead pixels in dash everything works great ac heat seat warmers. Mechanically it really is a very solid car. Paint looks 8 out of 10. Which is really good for how old the car is. I would drive this car cross country today. The car has ZERO rust. The underside looks perfect.
I have 4 m cars all m3's and want to try out the V10. This car is mechanically very sound and pulls strong. The only issue with this car is the front two seats and the wheels. ALL know issues and E39 m5 issues have been fixed and outlined below. If you look on forums the camshaft position sensors and vanos seals/ solinoids go around 100k. I just went through all that. The clutch is very strong. Car also comes with hub adaptors so you can run wheels from m3's or any other BMW. M5's had a different center boor so wheel choices are limited without these hubs.

Replaced in last 1k miles
1.Intake Cam position Senors
2. Exhaust cam position sensors
3. Front and rear Tires brand new .50 miles
4. Front and rear bumper covers due to rock chips.
5. Vanos seals from dr . Vanos
6. Tested all vanos solenoids by dr. Vanos
7. Temp gauge
8. I also have a new set of bilstein shocks and lowering springs to go on.

It also has a built in Valantine one Radar detector with kill switch and a sub in the trunk. Also has the dice iPod hook up.

Overall its a very nice car.

Know Issues
1. Front Seats are worn. Drivers seat the seam is coming out of leather can be repaired.
2. Passenger Seat has worn through. It can also be repaired.
3. Wheels have paint chipping and some curb rash.

Please get your financing in order before you bid as this is a no reserve auction.

BMW i3 takes to the track, circles it in a way you don't expect

Sun, Jan 5 2014

So, who wants to see a BMW i3 race around a track. That's what we thought. It's not a long video, but it is entertaining, and the way the urban EV does a 'loop' at second 25 certainly caught out eye. The i3 is scheduled to go on sale in the US later this year and will start at $41,350. The diminutive electric vehicle has a top speed of 93 miles per hour and can hit 62 mph in 7.2 seconds. We found it a hoot to drive, but we're not sure if hardcore BMW performance fans will totally 'get' this car's performance. The i3 is great at what it does, but it wasn't born to hit the race track. After seeing this video, though, we want a crack at it, skinny wheels and all. You can get a behind-the-scenes glimpse here, where Chris Neff writes, "The i3 basically turns in on itself. This is one sharp turning radius, take a look at 24 seconds into the video. We were actually trying to get the i3 to do doughnuts, but the computer would not let the rear brake loose, still, you can see how it held and how sharp we were turning....about 27 times in a row." Watch all 49 seconds below. And wonder with us if whatever aerial device was used to get the shot that ends at four seconds in was destroyed just after the video cuts away.

BMW eyes Z4 replacement before 2020

Tue, Mar 10 2015

As BMW has been busy building four-door versions of two-door versions of four-door cars, less useful crossovers and front-drive minivans, you could be forgiven for thinking it had given up on its aging Z4 roadster. But that, we're pleased to report, isn't the case. According to Automotive News, BMW is hoping to release the next-generation Z4 (if that's what it ends up being called) before the close of this decade. The news outlet spoke to the company's chief engineer, Klaus Frohlich, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, who indicated that BMW may split costs on the new car with Toyota, as part of the partnership between the two automakers. This partnership is integral to the next-gen Z4, largely because of the declining importance of the roadster segment, Herr Frohlich indicated. "If you look at the volume... we have to realize that these segments are shrinking," Frohlich told AN. According to the publication, sales of the Z4, which hit the market in its current form back in 2009, dropped 11 percent in Europe and 13 percent in North America. The car also is less attractive to customers in China for a number of reasons. "[Chinese customers] are not interested in roadsters," Frohlich explained. That's because privacy is a high priority for drivers in China, AN said. On top of that, open-roof cars expose their customers to China's notorious air pollution, which drivers are understandably keen to avoid. Related Video:
