My Supercharged E46 BMW M3 will nearly rip your face off, howling gloriously the entire time with every ounce of its 426 horsepower and 328 ft/lb of torque. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own a true supercar.
It has less than 36,000 miles on it! It was one of the very last E46 M3s to roll off the assembly line and has been loved & babied its entire life.

Check out the unbelievably beautiful photos, complete with lots of detail close-ups at very high resolution (much higher than eBay offers), especially of the amazing customizations.  All told, more than $100K went into making this one-of-a-kind supercar.

Right from the factory, it came fully loaded with literally every option:
  • Competition Package
    • Compound brakes
    • Cross-drilled Rotors
    • Light alloy wheels
    • Performance tires
    • Aluminum Interior Trim
    • M sport steering wheel
  • Premium Package
    • Power lumbar support
    • Power glass moonroof
    • Power seats w/driver memory
    • BMW Assist system & services
    • Nappy leather upholstery
  • Cold Weather Package
    • Heated front seats
    • Retractable headlight washers
    • Ski bag
  • Rear sunshade
  • Navigation System
  • Harman-Kardon Sound System
  • Xenon Headlights
  • ...and more!

Dinan, the world's best BMW customizer, has done everything possible to this car - it's a Stage 3 R (S3-R) mod with:
  • Supercharger
  • Intercooler
  • Short Shift Kit
  • Free-flow exhaust
  • Reprogrammed Chip
  • Fully re-done suspension (springs, struts, shocks, front & back roll bars, etc)
  • Dinan floor mats
  • Optional (currently in the glove box) Dinan badging. I preferred stealth.  :)
  • It makes a howling 462hp & corners like it's on rails!
This specific Dinan E46 S3-R configuration has been lovingly reviewed by:
I'm the original owner and all service has been done by the dealer (Steven's Creek BMW in San Jose) and Dinan.  I custom ordered it from the factory and had it delivered with the Dinan Supercharger, suspension, etc already installed.  It's never been in an accident, and I've loved & babied this car like it was part of the family.  It spent most of its life in a garage, with frequent detailing & waxing.  Originally intended to be an occasional track car, it turned out to be an amazing daily driver and never actually made it to the track.

I made one further modification, which is to install an iPod dock in the center console.  It interacts properly with the on-board computer & audio systems so you can play your favorite music from an iPod rather than CDs.

I have an InspectMyRide Premium Vehicle Report that confirms just how amazing this car truly is.  The vehicle report includes photos of all the very few tiny nicks & scratches in the paint, with rulers so you can see their exact size.  It just had its regular service and passed California Smog last year so you'll be screaming along immediately.

I'd still be driving this amazing car if I hadn't fallen in love with all-electrics and gotten myself a Tesla.  I've invested more than $100K in the car & modifications, loved every second of owning it, and can't wait to find a great new home for it.  Will it be yours?

Recharge Wrap-up: Grimsel electric car breaks acceleration world record, electric Ford Raptor ATV debuts

Sun, Nov 16 2014

An all-electric version of the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is now available... as an ATV. Made by Caddyshack Golf Cars, it features officially licensed Ford badging borrowed from the super-macho pickup. It has a lifted chassis with leaf springs in the front and rear, hydraulic shocks and off-road tires. Powered by a 48-volt motor, it can do 0-25 mph in 2.9 seconds. Range is an estimated 30 miles - plenty to get you through 18 of the most rugged holes of golf you've ever played. Caddyshack also offers other miniature electric Fords, including a Shelby GT500, Shelby Cobra and 50th Anniversary Mustang. Read more at Green Car Reports. Lexus takes a crack at the BMW i3 in a new video from Funny or Die. In the decidedly anti-EV film, a group of guys drives to Las Vegas for a "dad-chelor party" in a Lexus CT 200h and a BMW i3. The Lexus hybrid makes it to Sin City without any problems, while the BMW's occupants need to make several lengthy stops to charge along the way, missing much of the fun. The video lampoons the inherent range limitations of the EV (the BMW group ends up driving slowly through the desert with no AC or radio to save energy), all in a well produced, if somewhat misguided, short comedy film. Perhaps they should have considered the i3 with a range extender? See the video below, or read more at Green Car Reports. Students from ETH Zurich and Lucerne University have set a new EV acceleration world record. Their "Grimsel" racing car was able to zoom from 0-100 kph (0-62.137 mph) in just 1.785 seconds in less than 30 meters (98.425 feet), crushing the previous record of 2.134 seconds. Even more impressive is that the Grimsel was built by the students themselves, as part of the Formula Student team at the Academic Motorsports Club Zurich. The car weighs just 370 pounds and provides 200 horsepower and 1,202 pound feet of torque from the four hub motors. The Grimsel uses traction control to manage torque for maximum acceleration. See the record acceleration run in the videos below or read more at Gizmag, at Electric Autosport or in the press release from ETH Zurich below. 'grimsel' breaks world record The 'grimsel' electric racing car today broke the previous world record for acceleration in electric cars. The vehicle accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.785 seconds in under 30 metres. The new record was set by students from ETH Zurich and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, who also designed and built the vehicle.

BMW says yes to 1 Series M successor, no to M6 Gran Coupe with xDrive

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

If you're anything like us, the first half of that headline made you smile. The BMW 1 Series M Coupe was, without a doubt, one of our favorite cars from the past few years, and according to a BMW Blog interview, Dr. Friedrich Nitschke, head of the company's M division, has confirmed that a successor is in the works.
"We haven't made a decision yet, but the 1M coupe was so successful, that in my opinion, I am absolutely sure we will build a successor," Nitschke told BMW Blog. Currently, BMW only offers the M135i version of the new 1 Series hatch in Europe, which Nitschke says is "not a pure M car."
Moving elsewhere in the M range, BMW Blog asked about the M6 Gran Coupe that recently debuted at this year's Detroit Auto Show. The obvious competitors for this car will be higher-power versions of the Porsche Panamera and Audi RS7, but while both of those offer all-wheel drive, the M6 only sends power to its rear wheels.

Motorweek remembers the Bimmers that made us all fall in love

Sat, Dec 27 2014

The enthusiast's tied-in-knots relationship with BMW makes the Bavarians one of those brands especially ripe for nostalgic flights. That's why as soon as we saw the opening shot of Motorweek's review of the 1986 BMW 325e and a 635Csi, we let out a long sigh and thought, "Ahhhhh, I remember those days..." The two red barons were the new entries for the year, the 325e offering a couple of extra doors for the first time, the 635CSi rounding up the powerplant's displacement compared to the 633CSi that preceded it. The inline six-cylinder in the current 335i sedan gets on with 300 horsepower; 28 years ago, the 325e made do with a 2.7-liter inline six offering 121 hp, taking 9.3 seconds to get to 60 miles per hour from a standstill. That's four seconds more than today. Those willing to pay $41,000 for the 635CSi got a 3.4-liter inline six with 182 hp, and Motorweek praised it as a "confident handling car that does feel big and clumsy at times." The more things change, you know... Check out the video for a reminder of how BMW got to be what it is, and to hear the most unusual use of the word "oriental" we've heard in a while.
