Up for NO RESERVE auction I have my Carbon Black 2002 BMW M3 Convertible.  Car runs really strong and shifts extremely quick and smooth as it should.  Shows very well for the mileage it has.  Has typical wear that any car this old has.  This car is equipped with the SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox).  So it can be used in fully automatic or manual without clutch.  It does have the Harmon Kardon Sound System as well, but the passenger side speaker might need some work.  Everything is power and everything that is power works flawlessly.  The "Service Engine Soon" light is on due to a bad O2 sensor.  Because of this the car cannot be smogged in California, so it is only for sale out of state.  The trunk at times will act up and not open, but that is rare.  Also, both headlights work great, but there must be a short somewhere in the wiring and you have to turn the lights on and off to get them both on at times.  Other then these little things that do not effect the drivability this car is amazing.  I do not want to sell this car, but I have to because I recently moved out and need the money for financial reasons.  It is definitely a head turner and a daily driver.  Here is a list of what is done to the vehicle.

3.2L //M Power Straight 6
333bhp.
262 ft/lbs of Torque.
TEIN 1.5" S-Tech Lowering Springs.
Cross-Drilled/Slotted Rotors (Caused Break Sensor light to come on)
12MM Hubcentric Wheel Spacers On Front
Tinted Tail Lights
Black Side-Markers
Stock 18" Wheels Painted White.
Bridgestone Potenza Tires with less then 3000 miles.
Blacked Out Corner Lights.
Aftermarket Fog Light Housing.
All Emblems (excluding rear) are Carbon Fiber including Steering Wheel
White/Grey/Black
M3 Wheel Stickers Also White/Grey/Black
Matching Euro Plate in Front.
Replaced water pump & thermostat @ 120K
Replaced alternator @ 125K
Oil and Filter recently changed.

AGAIN, THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FOR SALE IN CALIFORNIA DUE TO SMOG.  FOR MORE INFORMATION MESSAGE ME, PLEASE DO NOT BID IF FROM CALIFORNIA.  If your looking at this ad, you already know quite a bit about this car.  It really is wonderful to drive and one of the greatest sports cars to date.  If you have any questions feel free to ask.  Thanks for looking!

American motorcycle brands most satisfying, Japanese most reliable, says Consumer Reports

Fri, Apr 10 2015

Consumer Reports started tracking motorcycle reliability last year through its regular reader survey, just like the magazine's well-known auto guide. For the 2015 edition, CR now has data on over 12,300 bikes, compared to 4,680 in 2014, and the extra info means it can include more brands, like Suzuki, Triumph and Can-Am, to the list. However, the final results remain largely the same. As with last year, Japanese bikes are the best choice for buyers who prioritize reliability. Yamaha comes out on top yet again and is followed by Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda. Victory and Harley-Davidson hold the middle of the list, and the European cycles from Triumph, Ducati and BMW sit at the bottom. The major outlier in this regional distinction is the Can-Am Spyder from Canada's Bombardier Recreational Products that comes in dead last in the dependability survey. Still, even the most dependable model is occasionally going to break, and the average repair bill across all brands is $342, according to CR's readers. Kawasakis are the cheapest to keep on the road at a median of $269 for fixes, versus BMW as the most expensive at $455. Through all of the companies, electrical gremlins are the most common issue, causing 24 percent of problems, but faults with the cooling system, pistons or transmission are the smallest concerns at 4 percent each. While Japanese cycles might be the easiest to keep on the road, they aren't the most beloved by riders. In CR's gauge of satisfaction, the Americans reign supreme. Victory owners love their bikes the most with 80 percent reporting that they would buy another. Harley riders are known for having a close bond to the company's models, and the brand comes in second with 72 percent. Finally, Honda rounds out the top three at 70 percent. Head over to Consumer Reports to see more results. News Source: Consumer ReportsImage Credit: Toby Brusseau / AP Photo BMW Honda Suzuki Motorcycle Ducati bike victory

BMW X4 hatches its fastback shape in Shanghai

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

The day has finally come for BMW to pull the covers off its X4 Concept at the Shanghai Motor Show. The machine brings few surprises - we've already seen an official image gallery from the German automaker, so its exterior shape was well known - but at least now we get to see it with our own eyes, and with the lenses of our very own cameras.
You can clearly see the fastback roofline in our high-res image gallery above, along with the jacked-up stance that allows BMW to call this machine a Sports Activity Vehicle, which basically means "Crossover" to our friends in Munich. We've seen similar vehicle shapes before, most notably in the form of the BMW X6, but also as far back as the 1980s from the likes of AMC.
We fully expect the transition from concept to production to be pretty seamless, so what we see here is, for the most part, what we'll see on the showroom floor in 2014. Feel free to peruse the press release below, but first, be sure to browse through our live images from Shanghai and let us know what you think.

BMW slapped with discrimination suit by EEOC

Thu, 13 Jun 2013

According to a report from CNNMoney, BMW has been hit with a lawsuit from the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission after revised criminal background check policies resulted in the dismissal of 88 contractors, 70 of whom (that's about 80 percent) were black. A total of 645 contractors were required to submit to background checks at BMW's facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina after BMW switched contract companies at its plant.
Though the 88 persons who were not rehired by the new contractor all had criminal records, that may not necessarily be a legal way to screen applicants, as the EEOC counters: "BMW's policy has no time limit with regard to convictions. The policy is a blanket exclusion without any individualized assessment of the nature and gravity of the crimes, the ages of the convictions, or the nature of the claimants' respective positions."
BMW's actions were in violation of the Civic Rights Act of 1964, according to the EEOC, because they utilized "a criminal conviction policy that disproportionately screened out African-Americans." A recent bulletin offering guidance from the EEOC on the Civil Rights Act can be found here, but the EEOC's stance on the issue has been the same for years: "Since issuing its first written policy guidance in the 1980s regarding the use of arrest and conviction records in employment decisions, the EEOC has advised employers that under certain circumstances, their use of that information to deny employment opportunities could be at odds with Title VII."
