I bought this car last year and immediately grew a mustache upon taking it for a spin. This car WILL turn you into a man (or woman depending upon the buyer). At the very least you'll be transformed into something, maybe a unicorn (that'd be badass). It's set up to go fast, and go fast sideways. Who doesn't like to get sideway?! Terrorists, that's who. Are you a terrorist? No? Then you need this car. Handling? This car handles like a junior executive CEO. Go around corners like the devil himself is chasing you, and not give a damn! What's that? You like killing it in the twisties? Well I've got some great god dang news for you! This car was built to destroy mountain runs faster than Rosie O'Donell destroys a box of twinkies! It literally oozes testosterone. So much so that its puddling up in the back. Seats? This monster has got 4! One for you, and 3 for the hot @ss chicks that'r gonna be all upon on your business after you buy this car. You're a girl? It works both ways. One seat for you, and 3 seats for those hot @ss dudes you've been trying to hook up with for weeks. sh*ts getting serious! Factory equipped bad ass sound and AC! Fortunately this car has BOTH! Too bad The only noises you're gunna be hearing is the ultra manly engine noises coming from this sweet supercharged, intercooled, 4.0 V8! It's a damn symphony of apocalyptic mechanical death metal! This car has got 1.5 metric f*ck tons of awesome parts. ESS Tuning, AR Design, KW Variants, Volk TE37's, Vorsteiner, Challenge. . .. . .. the list doesn't freaking END! It just keeps going and going, like the energizer bunny on meth! This car has the God inspired 7spd DCT. . . THAT'S RIGHT 7 DAMN GEARS! All capable of causing instant death upon acceleration! What's that. . . You like going fast? Ever tried to outrun 24 police cars, a pack of cyborg cheetahs and 3 helicopters? You need this car. It will go so damn fast that you may very well go back in time. It happened to me once. Just once, but it was freakin' amazing! Its like someone took a rocket and opened its mouth and poured steroids down its throat and and threatened to kill its family if it wasn't the fastest mechanical machine you've ever driven. I get it. Watch the BMW i8 get wrung out on the Ring
Thu, 24 Apr 2014Been wondering where the heck the reviews of the all-new, plug-in-hybrid BMW i8 have been? After all, the car isn't exactly new, having debuted in concept form way back in September of 2009. In August of last year, we even tested a prototype of the new supercar. Despite that, though, we still haven't gotten a crack at the actual vehicle that will be sold to the public.
Well, we're happy to tell you that we're currently testing the i8 and will have a proper review for you soon. If, however, you're just aching for some coverage of the low-slung plug-in, we have a short video of it in action around Germany's famed Nürburgring.
Despite it's three-cylinder, turbocharged gas engine, the i8 sounds pretty angry as it laps the Ring. That is, until it has a little bit of a breakdown. According to the guys that caught the car on video, it appeared the i8 had a minor brake issue, and was parked on the side of the track for a good 15 minutes, with the driver pumping the brakes. We should probably just take this as proof, then, that manufacturers are actually using the Ring for testing, and not just messing about.
BMW R1200 GS Adventure is made for epic roadtrips
Tue, 08 Oct 2013BMW Motorrad has taken the wraps off of its newest GS Adventure model. Based on the R1200 GS, the Adventure trim makes an already tough bike just a bit tougher, thanks to a number of technical changes that improve off-road capabilities without sacrificing any of the R1200 GS' riding manners.
The most noticeable change might be the larger fuel tank, up in size from 5.3 gallons to 7.9 gallons, although this largely due to the Adventure's lower fuel economy - it loses about three miles per gallon to the regular R1200 GS. BMW claims that the larger tank won't inhibit riding comfort, thanks to its narrow design and placement in the bike's frame. The spring travel is 0.8 inches longer, while there's nearly half an inch of extra ground clearance, which is largely responsible for its improve off-road talents. A new, larger seat promises a more comfortable ride and a greater range of adjustability, while a few tweaks within the engine offer an even smoother delivery of the bike's 125 horsepower and 92 pound-feet of torque.

Mercedes fights off late BMW surge to claim 2013 luxury sales crown
Sat, 04 Jan 2014The king is dead - long live the king. Mercedes-Benz is now your new US sales champion in the fiercely competitive luxury market, deposing the champ BMW, which has enjoyed annual supremacy for the past two years.
Thanks in no small part to the dynamite launch of the new, affordable CLA-Class, not to mention a redesigned E-Class and hot-selling S-Class, Mercedes moved 33,007 units in December alone, while sales in 2013 were up 14 percent, to 312,534. BMW, meanwhile, managed to sell 309,280 units in 2013. It was far from a sure thing for the Stuttgart-based brand, though, as BMW managed to nearly halve its rival's sales lead heading into the last month of 2013.
"We saw record sales, flexed our muscles across the entire product line from top to bottom and brought the customer experience to an all-time high," said Steve Cannon, Mercedes USA's CEO. While we don't have individual figures, it seems at first blush that the CLA was really the car that pushed Mercedes over the top.
