DINAN BMW //M3 convertible
This white on red M3 is nearly 500 HP with all upgrades being either Dinan or the BMW dealer (Yes, this car has a
real Dinan badge with the paperwork to prove it). If you want a drop top with looks to get noticed and the power
and sound to match, this one is for you. This car was my project and I spared no expense in terms of maintenance,
upgrades or detailing it. The sounds of a V* that can rev to almost 9k RPM is unlike anything else out there. They
will not ever make another one like this again...
OVER 15k invested in upgrades and labor
Upgrades:
- BMW performance steering wheel in alcantara & color-matched racing strip at 12o'clock
- Billet paddles shifters with color matched (+) (-)
- Alcantra DCT shifter and e-brake with ///M tri-stich custom made
- BMW performance carbon fiber mirrors
- BMW performance carbon fiber spoiler
- BMW performance carbon splitters
- BMW performance black side grills
- BMW performance black kidney grills
- Upgraded LED lights by Oneighty
- Custom painted hood vents in gloss black
DINAN parts:
- Upgraded rear diff. swap to increase torque.
- Engine software
- Carbon fiber intake and filter
- Under-drive pulley
- Carbon strut braces
- aluminum pedal set
- Dinan badge (this needs to be approved by Dinan based on a certain build and parts)
I can include a BMW plat. warranty for another 3.5k that will give you nearly three years of coverage. This is NOT
included in the listing price. I have ALL service records and as you can see ALL the servicing has been done here.
The car shows and drives perfect, If I saw anything odd or my BMW dealer did, I wouldn't have bought it. I'm happy
to have my service rep

Check out 90 years of BMW Motorrad in 90 seconds

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

After ninety years in business and first-to-market motorcycle innovations like the one-piece 'tunnel' crankcase, hydraulically dampened front forks and full fairings, as well as that trademark boxer engine, BMW Motorrad is celebrating its nonagenarian status with a video: You can follow the ride on BMW motorcycles from 1923 to now in just 90 seconds.
Okay, so there's more than a video - some anniversary-themed bikes and a new retro boxer model celebrating the R 32 "airhead' from 1923 also commemorate the occasion. But you can start with the video, and that's below.

Old vs. new debate gets new life with $25,000 Fiesta ST vs. E46 M3 showdown

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

You know who you are. There's probably a few of you reading; the ones that say, "Why would I spend $27,000 on a new Mazda MX-5 when I could get a used Chevrolet Corvette with more power." Yes, we're talking to you, used car proponents. While it is a fair argument, it's not like used cars don't come with drawbacks of their own, though.
In an attempt to put this new-versus-used argument to bed once and for all, Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire has picked up a pair of $25,000 cars - a used, but lightly modified, 2003 BMW M3 and a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Naturally, there's a comparison.
Farah, as he's wont to do, does get into the nitty gritty of what each car is like to drive, and discusses the merits of used and new-car shopping. But as he rightly points out while testing the M3, "So, it is a good car. But like any used car, it really does depend on the individual car."

Husqvarna sold to KTM CEO Stefan Pierer

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

A couple of days ago the UK's Motorcycle News reported that BMW was in the final stages of selling Husqvarna to KTM, with a deal potentially confirmed as soon as this week. Following that came reports that Husqvarna Motorcycles wasn't sold to KTM but to a Pierer Industries, the company owned by KTM CEO Stefan Pierer. Turns out the advance report was true, as was the follow-up: BMW has just announced a "strategic realignment" of its Motorrad division, explaining that it sold Husqvarna to Pierer Industries in order to focus on the urban and e-mobility segments. Husqvarna's off-road machines, obviously, don't fit into those categories.
BMW bought the Italian-based bike maker with centuries-old Swedish roots in 2007 - the rest of the Husqvarna company remains based in Sweden - and has invested huge sums to integrate the smaller company into the larger parent. Six years later, just when dividends should begin to truly pay off, the brand is sold.
Before BMW made its announcement, one of the theories that forum members put forward for Pierer's interest in purchasing Husqvarna was that he wants his own business to run his own way. The parent company of KTM, Cross Industries, is 47.27-percent owned by India's Bajaj Automotive, with Pierer the majority shareholder, and is on a quest for global growth, taking the fight to BMW in Europe and launching new bikes and technology into the Indian market. Compared to BMW's and KTM's 2012 sales of around 100,000 bikes each in 2012, Husqvarna sold 10,751 bikes, which was a 15.7-percent increase over the previous year. Pierer would have a lot more freedom in the running of a company of that size.
