2008 Bmw M3 Base Sedan 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Canton, Michigan, United States
I am selling my beautiful 2008 Space Gray BMW M3 with 41K miles. It is a 4 door 6-speed manual 4L V8 415 HP german muscle. It is in perfect mechanical condition and it pulls hard. The car has a rebuilt title and this is the only reason why I am selling it $10K below its price. I bought the car 2 years ago from a dealership in Brighton professionaly repaired with 25K miles on the clock. Since then I have put 15K miles with no issue whatsoever. It is my daily driver. The car runs and drives like new, it feels new and I do not forsee any issues in the future. As you can see in the photos it is in very good condition. As I was told and have photos of it, the car had skid off road and hit some kind of a road sign that damaged the front bumper, hood, broke the windshield, and damaged couple of the wheels. The only parts replaced were the windshield and all 4 wheels with the hood being repaired. It is hard to notice but there is a road sign mark on the front bumper. I have never restarted the gas mileage meter, driven the car like a granma and my current avergae is 19.6 miles/galon. I am also including a set of 4 winter tires. The reason for selling is that I am looking for something bigger to accommodate my growing family and my wife who does not know how to drive stick. I am confident that the price is reasonable (in fact, I cannot see a cheaper E90 M3 out there). If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Not in much hurry to sell but if the right buyer shows up it will be gone. The car is also sold locally so I reserve the right to take this ad down at anytime. BMW's plans for next plug-in i model, due after 2020
Mon, Mar 16 2015BMW entered the fight in the green car ring with gusto thanks to the one-two punch of the i3 and the i8. However, it seems that there could be a wait ahead before the German's i sub-brand is ready to land another strike at the market. "We are still in the strategic research phase where we brainstorm," Klaus Frohlich, BMW Group development boss, said to Automotive News Europe about the future vehicle. He indicated the next new model to bear the i prefix wouldn't arrive until after 2020. Frohlich also underscored that the sub-brand's products wouldn't be based on a standard BMW product. The German brand was at one point rumored to have a model called either the i5 or i7 on the way that would have added a plug-in hybrid drivetrain to the 5 Series. Frohlich's statement would seem to invalidate that possibility. Although, there's nothing stopping the vehicle from carrying regular BMW branding in the vein of the X5 xDrive40e PHEV. The current i-badged models won't just stagnate on the market in the meantime, though. "We have a minimum 20 percent battery density improvement every three years, thus over the i3 and i8's life cycle, we will offer more performance, more range or a combination of the two," Frohlich said to Automotive News Europe. Sadly, current owners won't be able to upgrade to the improved parts, though. Rumors about a third i sub-brand model go back years with much of the talk swirling around the i5. In addition to the speculation about a 5-Series-based version, there was also supposed to be a stretched variant of the i3 with that name, possibly even with a hydrogen fuel cell version. Although, BMW claimed the vehicle was purely "hypothetical." Related Video:
BMW M4 to debut in Detroit, lose manual transmission
Wed, 21 Aug 2013BMW took the wraps off its M4 Concept at Pebble Beach last weekend, and many speculated that the highly anticipated production version of the sleek new two-door sports coupe would debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this year. But a well-placed source tell Autoblog that the E92 M3's successor won't arrive in Southern California this November. Instead, the German automaker will wait until the Detroit Auto Show in January for its first official reveal.
An all-new 3.0-liter inline-six with twin turbochargers is expected under the hood, and it should provide about the same horsepower as the current 4.0-liter V8 (rated at 414 horsepower), but with much more torque that arrives lower on the tachometer. The lightweight engine is said to have an impressively high redline, which is unusual for a turbocharged engine.
Unfortunately, Save the Manuals members aren't going to like this next bit of news. After four generations of three-pedal M3 models, our source says the upcoming F82 M4 will arrive with a dual-clutch transmission (DCT) as standard equipment - with no manual option - just like the latest iteration of the track-ready Porsche GT3 (few have complained about the automaker's PDK after driving the latest sports car from Stuttgart). In exchange for some moans, groans and gripes from enthusiasts, BMW's DCT mounted aft of the M4's inline-six will provide quicker acceleration and improved fuel economy.
BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coup'e concept echoes 8 Series
Tue, 14 May 2013BMW and Pininfarina are planning to debut a new concept at the 2013 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. The Gran Lusso Coupé is designed to be the next logical step forward from the Zagato Coupé, and the one-off creation boasts plenty of BMW earmarks to set the car off as a true member of the German automaker's family. With a long wheel base and a stretched nose, the two door can't help but channel the long-dead BMW 8 Series, and the potent V12 under the hood only reinforces the link.
BMW has been kind enough to slip the world a few teasers, and the images show what looks like it could be the low-slung grand tourer of our dreams. Check out the full press release below for more information, and stay tuned for the full unveiling.
