I am selling my 1999 BMW M3 Convertible.

I put in a lot of money and time, and the car is running perfectly.  I've included a list below.  I knew the previous owner who had it for years before me.  Both of us love cars and have taken excellent care of the car.  All maintenance is up to date with recent tune up.  Everything listed below was performed within the last 1,000 miles.  I just bought a 2003 M3 that I couldn't pass up so it's time to sell this one.  All parts were exchanged with high quality replacements, no cheap parts.  Please feel free to come see the car in person prior to making offer.  The car is still very strong, fast, and reliable.  Tires have about 60-70% tread left on them.  The top was not working properly when I received the car, now it is.  The heated seats both work and they are better than the heated seats in any of my other cars.  Everything in the car works well.

Tune up work:
- Window tint 5% all around (except plastic in rear window area)
- New brake pads all around
- Rotors resurfaced
- Oil change with mobil 1 synthetic oil and filter 700 miles ago
- All gaskets on engine block/head replaced
- Master clutch cylinder
- Slave clutch cylinder
- Hydraulic fluid changed
- VANOS unit recalibrated
- Adaptation values reset
- New Spark plugs
- Bosch Icon wipers
- Radiator fluid changed
- Convertible top fixed with new struts and calibration
- Convertible top replaced within last 2 years
- Smoke lens fog lights (error free)
- Euro smoke/red tailights (error free)
- Projector HID headlights with angel/halo eyes running as DRLs. Low beams are 6K HID Volt kit.  Very good looking lights.
- All interior lights replaced with high quality hyperwhite lights from superbrightleds.com with remaining warranty
- New color matched floor mats

Currently, the BSW Soundplicity Control II is installed but that is not included with the vehicle at this time.  It integrates an iphone/ipod with the BMW head unit.  If the buyer is interested, then they can contact me to work something out to leave the Soundplicity unit in the car with the phone holder.

The stock CD changer does come with the car.

Please contact me with any questions.  It is a very clean car in excellent shape.

Project CARS vs reality at Laguna Seca shows amazing potential

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Project CARS is aiming to be the next great racing sim. Offering a mix of modern and classic cars on famous tracks, developer Slightly Mad Studios is trying to inject a fresh energy into the genre, and at the moment its game looks ready to take on Forza and Gran Turismo.
The game is still about six months from release, and the graphics already look practically photorealistic. The video below shows side-by-side laps of Laguna Seca in a BMW - real life on the left and the game on the right. It's absolutely astounding. Other than some changes to the sponsorship around the track, they are almost identical.
Of course anyone with quality seat time in a racing sim knows that graphics are just one factor. How the game feels is even more important, and without getting hands on, it's impossible to judge yet. However, consider our interest piqued. Project CARS is scheduled to launch in November on the Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, Nintendo WiiU, Windows PC and Steam OS. Scroll down to check out the video.

BMW confirms X4 for next year, i3 preorders starting to add up

Wed, 20 Mar 2013

BMW has confirmed the long-anticipated X4 will bow next year. Norbert Reithofer, chairman of the automaker's board of management, made mention of the upcoming CUV during remarks at the company's annual accounts press conference. Reithofer said that BMW has sold more than 2.7 million X models since it began producing the machines, and that the company plans to expand those offerings with the new X4 next year. He declined to offer up any more details, though from what we've heard so far, the model will be more of a crossover than either the X3 or the X5.
Reithofer also made it clear that BMW is getting serious about electric vehicles, saying the i3 (pictured above, in prototype form) is "definitely coming to market" and that the runabout will be ready by late 2013. BMW reports it has had "Several hundred advance orders" for the EV. As you may recall, the i3 uses a special carbon fiber reinforced plastic passenger cell to save weight and boasts a standard range of 93 miles. You can read the full transcripts from the press conference below for more information.

Mazda Turnpike in Japan shut down for racing

Mon, Dec 29 2014

The people behind Motorhead Magazine in Japan clearly have some friends in high places. Not only did they manage to shutdown eight kilometers of the Mazda Turnpike up the Hakone mountain, but they invited some of the country's premiere racers to take a drive up the hill. This wasn't just a Sunday cruise either. Featuring a BMW Z4 from the Super GT series, a classic Ford GT40, two flavors of Nissan GT-R and two takes on the Subaru Impreza WRX STI, these guys came ready to run. When an opportunity to let racecars challenge a curvy mountain road presents itself, you don't squander it. Thankfully, the folks at Motorhead knew that and outfitted the course with a plethora of cameras and high-quality sound equipment to capture the action. The result is nothing short of sublime. Take the video's urging to turn up your speakers for this one, and watch as these racers hit ludicrous speeds in a beautiful place never meant for them.
