Medford, Massachusetts, United States

The car started its life in CA where the original owner lived. He owned the car until about 41k miles and then sold it to his brother in CT where it lived until 2012 up to 126k miles. I bought it from the third owner in NH with 140,432 miles on it. Car currently has 148,### miles which will go up slowly as I drive it on occasion. Only selling because I bought an e46 M3.

· Cosmos Schwartz metallic black paint. Small amount of rock chips up front, dings etc. Not perfect but presentable enough (for me at least).
· Black interior. Seats are in good shape, some fade on the driver's side upper bolster but no rips or tears. Full size spare

Standard features: 6 CD changer, auto HVAC, manual adjust seats, fold flat rear seats.

The good: Motor pulls strong and sounds great, tranny shifts great & no issues with 5th gear detent/lean, suspension is tight (no squeaks, clunks etc.), radio works, speakers work, no pixels out in OBC display, AC blows cold, heat blows hot, no oil/coolant leaks, sunroof tilts/slides

Car comes with a second set of keys (including valet key, standard key & working remote for lock/unlock), all manuals and receipts for all the parts I purchased/installed.

No accidents, can provide AutoCheck report. Clean title ready to go.

Add ons:
· Dinan Carbon Fiber CAI
· Dinan Stage II Software

Maintenance done in last 5k miles:

· Water pump with metal impeller (HEPU)
· Radiator drain plug (BMW)
· New block coolant drain bolt copper crush washer
· 80C Thermostat (Vernet)
· Aluminum thermostat housing -- I've heard the stories of these leaking so I did my best to prevent this i.e. thoroughly cleaning the mating surface and adding a thin bead of RTV and waiting for that to set before starting the engine.
· Serpentine belt (Contitech)
· Things replaced during the M50 swap: PCV system (cyclone separator, hard line from VCG to cyclone, cyclone to dipstick line), dipstick O-Ring, intake elbow to ICV hose, all 3.5mm vac lines, intake manifold gaskets x6, TB to IM gasket. IAT sensor relocated to intake elbow and sealed with silicone.
· Coolant Flush (BMW coolant -- 50/50 mix)
· Fuel filter (Bosch)
· Throttle position sensor (Vemo)
· Heated windshield washer nozzles (Valeo)
· Front rotors (Sebro)
· Trunk seal (BMW)
. Carbon pin (BMW)
. UUC delrin clutch pedal bushings
. Steering column bearing (BMW)
. EVAP expansion tank nipple mended (typical issue)

Maintenance done by PO's
· Clutch & pressure plate
· All 4 O2 sensors
· Rear shocks
· Brake pads (front + rear)
· Calipers
· Window regulators
· Injectors
· Cooling system (rad + hoses). Water pump was done as well which I discovered during my replacement.

Car will come with the currently mounted M Contour staggered wheels with Nexen N3000 225/45/17 up front, 245/40/17 rear.

Extras:
· Winter wheels w/ second set of lugs. M Contour reps 16x7(?) with Blizzak snows, maybe 5k more miles left on tires.
· Car cover
· Stock airbox
· Dinan air filter & extra K&N filter

The not so good:
· Headliner is starting to sag
· Heat shield rattle at idle
· Current K&N filter is too large for the Dinan CAI mounting bracket so it's currently held in by zip ties

This is the final BMW M3 Coupe

Fri, 05 Jul 2013

Pour some out for the BMW M3 Coupe, folks. Production of the two-door, fixed-roof M3 has officially ended, and the orange car you see here is the very last one.
But we don't just meant the last M3 Coupe of this generation - this is the last M3 Coupe ever, since the next-gen car will launch under the name M4, staying true to BMW's revised nomenclature where coupes and convertibles will use even numbers. (Don't forget, the new 3 Series coupe becomes the 4 Series for the 2014 model year.) There will, of course, be a new M3, but that badge will only be found on the four-door version.
BMW first launched the M3 Coupe in 1986, and since then, more than 40,000 examples have been built. Sedan and convertible versions were added later in the car's life, and BMW says that the current 2013 model year convertible will remain in production until September of this year.

Alpina B4 coupe will be your subtle M4

Sat, 14 Sep 2013

We're big fans of Alpina here at Autoblog - the BMW tuner has created some seriously delicious products in the past, and recently tuned the diesel-powered 3 Series wagon to create the D3 Bi-Turbo. What we like most about Alpina is how the cars only look subtly more aggressive than stock, yet they pack a real wallop under the hood.
Take this B4 Coupe, recently spotted testing at the Nürburgring. It looks pretty tame compared to the normal 435i, the only visual additions being the Alpina-standard 21-spoke wheels, modified front lip and rear wing spoiler. But under the hood, Alpina is reportedly working on a tuned, twin-turbo straight-six that produces something like 410 horsepower. That means the B4 should be good for a 0-62 time of 4.2 seconds, with a top speed around 190 mph. Rear-wheel drive will be standard, though our spies suggest that Alpina could also use all-wheel drive here in the B4.
We have no doubt that the next BMW M4 will be super hot, but for those seeking a bit more stealth and exclusivity, this Alpina B4 certainly looks the business. Check it out in our gallery above.

Playboy reveals its 2013 Cars of the Year

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

Vaunted men's magazine Playboy knows that its readers are nearly as interested in cars as they are in the female anatomy... sorry, we thought we could write that with a straight face. Anyway, the buff-book does occasionally fill some of its spreads with sexy metal, to accent all the rest of the sexiness.
To wit, the magazine has unveiled its feature on the 2013 Cars of the Year. Without giving us much in the way of criteria for the awards, nor a clear framing of the categories ("Responsible Ride" is a particularly challenging concept, especially when you consider that the Mazdaspeed3 was the winner), Playboy has nevertheless highlighted what we assume to be it's favorite 12 or 13 (depending on how you count) cars from the 2013 model year.
Headlining the class is the Porsche 911, which Playboy writers single out for having "remarkable electronic voodoo." BMW M5 is named "Slickest Sports Sedan" though the Cadillac ATS then follows on because "we couldn't resist giving the new Caddy a shout-out." The rest of the picks are pretty conventional (save, perhaps, the Honda Fit EV as "Ace Electric"), even if the categories and methodology are fairly wonky. Cruise through or gallery for a taste or check out the full list, here. The site is safe for work, and you can legitimately (this time) say that you were reading it for the articles.
