* UPDATE* I just installed new rotors, pads, fluid, sensors, and parking brake shoes all around. Everything works perfect. I also installed a new ZHP shift knob to replace the worn out stock one. As the weather gets warmer, I'll be fixing little things on the car here and there. Beautiful driving weather is just around the corner, so I would love to see this car go to someone who will use it. Price Lowered!

I have decided to sell my 1996 AA STG 1 Supercharged Estoril Blue E36 M3. It currently has 198,000 miles on it. I am very reasonable and open to offers so please don't hesitate. I have title in hand and Im looking for a quick and easy deal. I am located in East Stroudsburg, PA. but I would be willing to travel a reasonable distance if it helps you out. I purchased this vehicle approximately five years ago with the plan of driving it often. However, that has not been the case for me. I have a growing family and business which make this car impractical for me to enjoy as often as I would like. It is a shame to see such a wonderful car parked and never being driven. I bought it in 2008 with 180,000 miles. It currently sits with 198,000 miles. I have literally put less than 400 miles on it in the past 2 years alone! It really makes no sense for me to keep this M3 at this point. Ive decided to put it up sale so it can go to a good home where it can actually be driven and enjoyed.

Below is a description of the vehicle. I tried my best to cover every area of the vehicle so there would be no surprises. It just makes life easier for everyone when we are all honest. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I will certainly do my best to answer them. Overall, this is an excellent carthat is in great condition. With a little bit of attention in a few areas, this M3 would be in excellent condition. Ultimately, whoever ends up with this car will not regret it.

Engine: The engine in this car is in excellent condition and runs very strong. I have had no issues whatsoever. Approximately 4 years ago, I purchased and installed a new AA Stage 1 Supercharger Kit. The supercharger is such an excellent addition to the already fun to drive M3. The car is very quick and even more fun. The best thing about the AA kit is that it is so smooth and reliable that it will go unnoticed. You would never know the car was supercharged until you stepped on the gas hard. It sounds and runs great. It is very reliable and can easily be daily driven if desired. I have always stayed on top maintenance. The previous owner installed a new cooling system as preventative maintenance. This included a new radiator and expansion tank. Recent maintenance includes all of the usual suspects such as spark plugs, oil, clean air filter, etc.. The only possible negative thing I can come up with for this area of the vehicle is that there is a small intermittent belt squeak. It is a very simply fix but nevertheless I feel obligated to mention it since I have yet to find the time to fix it.

Drivetrain: This is another area of the vehicle that is in excellent condition. Everything is very strong and operates just as it should. The car is very solid. Shortly, after installing the supercharger, I decided to upgrade a few areas of the vehicle. One of those areas was the transmission. I installed a new UUC ceramic clutch/ lightweight flywheel kit. I also installed new urethane transmission mounts and a short shift kit. I will admit that the clutch/flywheel assembly is aggressive for the street. A milder setup would have done the job, but I wanted to go with something a little more aggressive. It does take some time to get used to this setup if you have never driven something like this before but it becomes more natural once you get familiar with it. Its also not that big of a deal to swap out the existing setup for something less aggressive if you really don't like it.

Suspension/Chassis: The car has been on a lift in my shop many times so Ive been able to really look it over and make sure everything is in good shape. Everything under the car is in great shape and still solid. No rust or any other other issues whatsoever. The suspension is also another area of this car that has been upgraded. All of the suspension work was done by the previous owner when I purchased the car. The previous owner did a great job on the setup so I did not bother to change anything. It has a full Ground Control Coilover suspension thats in great condition. I would have to get my head under the car again to double check exactly but various bushings have been replaced/upgraded. If there is one thing that stands out about this M3, its the handling. This car is absolutely incredible when it comes to handling. Its more impressive and fun than the power it has under the hood. The steering is very tight and has issues whatsoever. The car drives on rails.

Exterior: The overall condition of the exterior is very good. The paint itself is in great condition and still shines beautifully. I keep the car detailed year round. It currently has Euro ZKW Headlights w/ 6K HID's. It also has OEM euro clear corners all around. Most of the trim is still in good condition but some of the trimming could definitely use a replacement. This was the next "project" I was planning to tackle. All of the trim and seals are still functional but they are simply worn and faded in areas. Nice fresh trim all around would really make the exterior of this car look great. As with any 17 year old vehicle, you can expect to see some paint chips on the front bumper area. Most people that see this car just cant believe that it is a 1996. There is the usual wear and tear but I would say that it is above average in terms of its exterior condition. The only other area on the outside that would be a concern is directly above the drivers side door handle. There is tennis ball sized indentation. Im not exactly sure how it happened. It "magically" appeared one day after I came out of a store. Again just to clarify, nothing stated has any affect on the performance or functionality of the vehicle.

Interior: If I had to pick one thing about this car that I would want to improve right now, Id say that it would have to be the interior. Its not that its in terrible condition or anything like that. I just feel that the condition of the interior doesn't live up to the standards of the rest of the car. Aside from the exterior trim, this would be the only other area of the car that I would like to give some attention. Ive seen several E36 interiors that have been redone and they just look so much cleaner when done right. The entire dashboard/console area is in excellent condition. All electronics and lights work just as they should. The carpeting is all in great condition with no stains or anything like that. All of the seats are still in good condition considering the age of the vehicle. There are some minor pieces that can be fixed in a day and will make a big change to the appearance of the interior. Items like the steering wheel and shift knob are examples of the things that are worn and could stand to be replaced. If I were planning to keep this car I would definitely redo the interior just to bring it up to par with the rest of the vehicle. The two bigger areas that could stand to be redone are the door panels/trimming, and the upholstery on the roof. Ill fitting panels and loose headliners are pretty common issues among E36's.

Wheels/Tires: All four wheels clean up very nicely and have no major defects. Just the usual wear that you would expect. No major curb rash or anything of that nature. I just replaced all four tires with new Michelin Pilot Sports. There is obviously tons of life still left in these tires.

Brakes: It currently has Stainless Steel brake lines. The entire braking system works great and has no issues whatsoever. The brakes have just been replaced all around.  This includes new rotors, pads, parking brake shoes, and fluid.

BMW 2 Series, X5 get their M Performance parts on

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

BMW models come in a number of flavors, from their standard guises to M Sport variants and M Performance models to full-on M muscle machines. But if you want to pick and choose the degree to which you want your Bimmer upgraded along the path to M, BMW automaker offers its M Performance Parts line. The Bavarian automaker already offers these performance and stylistic add-ons for a number of models, and has now released new kits for both the 2 Series Coupe and the latest X5 crossover.
The catalog for the 2 Series includes an available lowered suspension kit, upgraded brakes, new alloys, carbon aero kit and interior trim enhancements. There's also a power kit available for the 220d model that squeezes out an extra 16 horsepower for a total of 200, and a limited-slip differential and exhaust silencer for the M235i.
Upgrades to the X5 crossover, meanwhile, also include a carbon aero kit and interior trim package. The X5 xDrive35i model also gets a power kit boosting output by 20 ponies to 326 hp and an exhaust silencer. Scope out the details in the pair of press releases below and the pair of high-resolution image galleries top and bottom.

BMW's Best 1 Series Gives Back What You Put In
Every once in a while, I find myself, despite my solitary leanings and inherent modesty, working out in some kind of class setting. The tone and tenor of these classes ranges wildly - from the quiet, follow-the-leader variety, to those with a kind of Cult of Personality man or woman calling the shots, usually with idiom-laden shouting and theatrical hair. Despite their personal variation and range of professional effectiveness, there's one common concept that most instructors bring up at some point: working with intention.
The idea, as it relates to physical fitness, is that focusing your brain on the movement at hand - the rate of your own breathing, or the muscle groups being worked for instance - helps to perform the act efficiently and correctly. Having spent a happy majority of the last decade in an exercise-free near-debauch, I was a bit surprised to find out that this kind of mental game really works pretty well.

BMW bringing special Horse Edition 7 Series to Beijing

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

The Beijing Motor Show is just a couple of weeks away, and BMW wouldn't miss out on the opportunity to show off its latest wares to one of its most vital markets. So when the doors open in Beijing, BMW will showcase the new 2 Series Active Tourer, 2 Series Coupe, M3 and M4, 4 Series Gran Coupe and X4. It will also introduce the i3 and i8 to China for the first time. But those are all models we've seen already. What's new is... wait for it... the 7 Series Horse Edition.
Not celebrating horses so much as the Year of the Horse, this special edition 7 Series is based on the long-wheelbase model and comes with all manner of M equipment packages, a special paint job from BMW Individual and unique touches inside and out. BMW isn't saying which engine it features, but it sells the series in China in 730Li, 740Li, 750Li, 760Li and ActiveHybrid forms, with rear- or all-wheel drive. Given that the one pictured is wearing an xDrive badge, it would have to be either the 740Li or 750Li, but buyers will presumably be able to order it in whichever spec they desire.
While it may not be as exciting as the 9 Series concept BMW is rumored to have lined up for the Beijing show as well, you can bet that the Bavarian automaker will find plenty of buyers for this extra-special, extra-Chinese, extra-equestrian luxury sedan, and command a healthy premium from each and every one of them.
