1990 Bmw M3 Base Coupe 2-door 2.3l on 2040-cars
Bentonville, Arkansas, United States
For sale is my 1990 BMW E30 M3. Brillant Red with Gray Interior and just over 107,000 miles (that's an average of less than 5,000 miles per year). I am the third owner, purchasing the car in 2009 with 105,996 miles. During that time to present I've had the following work performed:
New Air conditioner compressor New transmission mounts Replaced the lower control arms and bushings New cat and exhaust system (Stromburg muffler) New heat shield Various seals New Heater core Front sway bar end links All fluids changed Replaced the ground camber plates It also has Eibach springs, Koni shocks, front Sparco strut brace as well as a rear strut brace. The car was resprayed prior to my ownership. With the exception of a few places, the exterior looks great. Seats have normal wear but look great for a 23 year old vehicle. Bolsters are in great shape. The dash is crack-free. It has the original radio head unit. A mechanical restoration was performed by Vintage Sports and Racing (VSR1) in Bow, NH. I have over $8,000 in receipts. VSR1 also performed some rust repair. This is an excellent daily driver and example of a classic icon. It is NOT a concours vehicle and is being sold as it. Carfax shows one accident. The car was on an Auto carrier that was involved in an accident. NO DAMAGE was done to this car. I have all repair receipts since I've owned the car. I am selling this great driver because I've purchased another E30 M3 and don't have the space to keep them both. My loss is your gain. |

BMW readying impressive track-focused M Power App
Thu, 06 Jun 2013There are a lot of questionable automotive apps that people put on their smartphones these days, but BMW has created what could be one of the most useful and integrated car apps ever. The new M Power App, which will be available this summer only for Apple iPhones, allows BMW owners a whole new way to record their performance on the street or on a track. During the launch of the recent BMW M6 Gran Coupe, BimmerPost was able to get a full demonstration of how this new app works.
Far more involved than the current M Power Meter, the M Power App records data from in-car sensors and acts as a telemetry tool to allow drivers to see how they did on a particular track. Aside from an overlay on a track map showing acceleration and braking applications as well as head-to-head comparisons, the app also shows a line graph of everything from brake and throttle inputs to g-force, fuel mileage and engine speed. A small visual on the screen also shows steering angle, and lap times and speeds can all be stored as well. The data can even be shared with others, whether for bragging rights or instruction purposes.
This app works on any newer BMW equipped with the BMW Apps option, but the phone must be tethered to the car and the data understandably cannot be viewed while driving. Scroll down for the video demonstration recorded recently at Austin's Circuit of the Americas.
BWM 135i with M3 V8 engine swap combines two things we miss the most
Thu, Apr 16 2015If you've ever listened to the Autoblog Podcast, you've doubtlessly heard my views on the BMW 1 Series M Coupe. I don't much care for it. That's not to say it's bad, so much as it just isn't what an M car should be. Steven Ewing, Seyth Miersma and a number of other Autoblog staffers think I'm crazy (It's true, he is crazy –Ed.), but whatever. My position on the 1M would be dramatically different, however, had it been fitted from the factory with the truly fantastic 4.0-liter V8 from the E92 M3 (the last great M car, in this writer's humble opinion). Matt Farah of Drive took to the wheel of a 135i that's been completely reworked by Performance Technic and is owned by Marco Svizzero. The car required a salvageable E92 and what we imagine is an incalculable amount of wrench time, with the result being, as Farah says, "possibly the best BMW you could build at any price." Oh, and it sounds absolutely delicious. Check out the car in action.
Popular Science magazine's Best Of What's New 2012 all ate up with cars
Tue, 20 Nov 2012Popular Science has named the winners in its Best of What's New awards, the victors coming in the categories of aerospace, automotive, engineering, entertainment, gadgets, green, hardware, health, home, recreation, security and software. The automotive category did not go wanting for lauded advancements:
Tesla Model S: the Grand Award winner for being "the standard by which all future electric vehicles will be measured."
BMW 328i: it's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gets called out for being more powerful and frugal than the six-cylinder it replaces.
