BMW M3
123xxx miles
Extensive service history and documentation available with original window sticker.

Purchased in July, 2011 from a BMWCAA member. I've owned and driven this car for a little over 2 years and have changed the oil every 1500 miles (every 6 months) with Mobil 1 15-50 and OEM BMW oil filters.

Work done in the last 15,000 miles:
-New battery at 123k.
-New heater core pipes and hoses at 122k.
-Viper Alarm at 120k.
-Transmission fluid flush at 115k.
-Driveshaft replacement, new timing chain tensioner at 115k.
-Fuel filter, valve cover gasket, breather hose, alternator bushings, brake fluid flush, full service at 113k.
-New VSR exhaust at 110k.
-New water pump at 107k.
-New coolant sensor at 106k.
-Service history going back all the way to 1989.

Good:
-No rust anywhere (spent most of its life in Arizona).
-Paint is original and in great condition.
-All original pannels, no accidents, very straight body.
-Mechanically sound, only had to replace a leaky heater core pipe in the time I've owned it. Can be driven immediately with no work needed.
-Brakes/steering/throttle response are fantastic.
-Never raced or abused.
-All windows were re-tinted last year.
-Viper alarm system with keyless entry.
-All recent work done by Midnight Motorsport in Seattle (alarm and heater core pipe).
-Tires have a lot of tread left.
-Brake pads are still good.
-All power windows, locks, and sun roof in working condition.
-Comes with Dinan, Autothority, and Conforti chip (currently the one being used).
-VSR Stainless steel freeflow center section with Stromung muffler (sounds amazing).
-Bilstein shocks.
-Back seats in perfect condition.
-Front seats show some wear, but still in decent condition (small rip in passenger seat).
-Carpets/interior in great condition.
-It just passed its last emissions test last week and if you live in Washington state, you will never need to pass this test again. Has brand new tabs valid for 1 year in WA.
-Will receive a professional detail before buyer pick-up.

Bad:
-Scratch on the trunk (see picture). This is the only obvious flaw, small chips here and there but overall great condition.
-Trunk roundel is chipped.
-Occasionally flashes the check "brake lights" warning light at start even though the lights work (looking at the service history, this has been an issue for years).
-Water temperature displays a little high (slightly past 1/2 mark but never above the 3/4, see picture). Most of the parts on the cooling system have fewer than 20k miles, so I've stopped worrying since the BMW manual states the following (the manual will be included with the car):

BLUE: The engine has not reached normal operating temperature. Drive only at moderate road and engine speeds.

Normal operating temperature: is between the two colored zones. The needle may tend to reach the red zone when the ambient temp- and/or the engine load is very high.

RED: engine overheated. Allow system to cool down until temperature gauge is approx. in the middle of the scale.

-Cracked dash (I have a new dash that I will include with sale).
-Slight brake squeal perhaps from dirt (the pads are still thick and my mechanic assures me they don't need to be replaced yet).
-Shifter buzzes on freeway sometimes (common problem with 88-89 e30 M3's, you'll grow to love it).
-AC needs recharge/isn't working.

I'm selling because I rarely drive it since it is not my primary vehicle and I'm moving to the city where I won't be able to store it in a safe place. I never take this car on short trips and make sure to give it a 20min+ drive every 2 weeks. Let me know if you have any questions and if you'd like to have your mechanic take a look.

These cars are rare, and it's even rarer to find one in this condition with documentation.

Reveal of next-gen BMW 7 Series set for June 10

Wed, Jun 3 2015

Executive vice presidents of the world, your next sedan is debuting in just a few days. BMW is finally taking the wraps off the next-gen 7 Series on June 10, and the Bavarian brand's teaser video provides a few early hints about the high-class model. Highlighting a 750Li, the camera in the teaser swoops around the sedan to show off its laser headlights. The badge for BMW's Carbon Core also gets some of the limelight here to proclaim the extensive use of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic. This clip doesn't give much more away, though. However, BMW has already spilled the beans about some of the other futuristic features for the new 7 Series in an earlier tease. The sedan is essentially a rolling technological showcase and offers functions like remote-controlled parking that's run from the key fob. Inside, using the infotainment system is possible with three-dimensional gesture control by waving your hand in the air in the right area. The extensive amount of CFRP in the passenger cell also helps save 287 pounds over the previous generation. If buyers are really looking for opulence, they can also reportedly order a massive, panoramic glass roof and a leather-covered engine cover. Expect a full rundown of all of the 7 Series' lavish features when the sedan debuts.

Trump calls Germans 'very bad,' vows to stop their car sales in US

Fri, May 26 2017

TAORMINA, Italy -Talks between President Trump and other leaders of the world's rich nations at the G7 summit on Friday were expected to be "robust" and "challenging" after he had lambasted NATO allies and condemned Germans as "very bad" for their trade policies. Trump's confrontational remarks in Brussels, on the eve of the two-day summit in the Mediterranean resort town of Taormina, cast a pall over a meeting at which America's partners had hoped to coax him into softening his stances on trade and climate change. According to German media reports, Trump condemned Germany as "very bad" for its trade policies in a meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, signaling he might take steps to limit sales of German cars in the United States. "The Germans are bad, very bad," he reportedly told Juncker. "Look at the millions of cars that they're selling in the USA. Horrible. We're gonna stop that." White House economic adviser Gary Cohn on Friday confirmed the reports. "He said they're very bad on trade, but he doesn't have a problem with Germany." Cohn said Trump had pointed out during the meeting that his father had German roots in order to underscore the message that he had nothing against the German people. Trump's spokesman Sean Spicer said Trump had "tremendous respect" for Germany and had only complained about unfair trade practices in the meeting. Juncker called the reports in Spiegel Online and Sueddeutsche Zeitung exaggerated. The reports translated "bad" with the German word "boese," which can also mean "evil," leading to confusion when English-language media translated the German reports back into English. "The record has to be set straight," Juncker said, noting that the translation issue had exaggerated the seriousness of what Trump had said. "It's not true that the president took an aggressive approach when it came to the German trade surplus." "He said, like others have, that (the United States) has a problem with the German surplus. So he was not aggressive at all," Juncker added. In January, Trump threatened to slap a 35 percent tax on German auto imports. "If you want to build cars in the world, then I wish you all the best. You can build cars for the United States, but for every car that comes to the USA, you will pay 35 percent tax," he said. "I would tell BMW that if you are building a factory in Mexico and plan to sell cars to the USA, without a 35 percent tax, then you can forget that." Last year, the U.S.

BMW planning six-cylinder i9 hybrid to celebrate centenary?

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

On the prospect of a new BMW M1 based on the company's new i8 hybrid, the jury has been in and out so much that we can't even tell which way it's likely to go. However, the latest reports coming in from Germany suggest that BMW may have something else up its sleeves. Rather than make a conventional gas-powered version of the i8, Germany's Auto Motor und Sport says BMW will make a more powerful one.
Tentatively dubbed i9, the hybrid sports car is rumored to pack a six-cylinder internal-combustion engine instead of the i8's turbo three. Coupled to more potent electric motors, it would figure to produce even more than the 357 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque already on tap in the i8, with further weight reductions to offset the bulkier engine.
Auto Motor und Sport says the mooted model will be produced to celebrate the Bavarian automaker's 100th anniversary and eclipse the i8's performance, with a projected 0-60 run in under four seconds en-route to taking the gloves off to crunch the Autobahn in electric bliss. The new i flagship would be another member of the company's growing electrified family, joining the existing i3 hatchback, upcoming i5 minivan and possible i8 Spyder down the line.
